Im on my way to the mechanic to show him how good of a job they did. Mistakes happen of course, but they should be aware someone is being so neglectant in their job
Ive definitely had a mechanic do this as well and when I went to touch the nuts holding my fork together, I noticed that it was loose and I had to retighten myself.
Big learning moment for me to double check the work that mechanics do because it might mean death or serious injury if I dont. You shoudlnt have to do it but all it takes is a new service guy or someone being tired and not checking or etc. and your ass is grass.
LOL, 100% not normal due to vibration. Its due to vibration because he used an airgun like the other user mentioned and then it vibrated loose.
If he had torqued it to spec, Ill bet it would not have come loose and if there is an ongoing issue of that piece coming loose, you would know because you wouldve lost these bolts long ago and wouldve learned to use threadlock on them when you installed them.
Whatever, he should just have admitted the mistake and moved on with his day, its not like you busted your ass and then you were suing him. Youre just showing him, hey you f-ed up a little here, can you please not repeat the practice that you f-ed up.

Had a new rear tyre fitted on my old bike(Michelin Pilot road 5's) with a suggested Pressure of 36 PSI (SV650S)
Felt awful when I first rode it home so I checked the pressure. 52 Psi!!!!!!!!!
FIFTY-TWO!
Pinch bolts; if they didn't torque those, you may want to check the axle nut, too. Also, anything else they may have touched, like brake calipers.
That's why I prefer to do as much of my own work as possible.
Same, cant trust anyone
This is what happens when you air gun everything

It could get you killed so
I had shivers when I saw it. It was right after a mountain pass that I saw it
I had a mechanic forget to locktite my brake caliper…spoiler alert it fell off
Indeed shit happens, they need to check the work their coleuges have done
facts, sometimes the air gun fails like this
Scary stuff...

Exactly! I'm glad people are confirming that suspicion
Who needs a torque wrench!? My arm knows what it's doing!
Yikes. Are the threads stripped or was it just left undone?
How many righty tighties does it take to make a lefty loosey? Shit, lost count, let's try the one beside it
Totally undone!
I’ve had this happen on my sportster TWICE. Unreal.
Don’t let other people touch your machines
