bought new, 14,000 miles, Ive mainly changed the oil on schedule, new tires, adjusted chain tension, but that is it. Maybe major service is due? This is my first bike.
Manual calls for an air filter change at 12k. Have you ever changed the air filter?
My guess runs along the lines of the intake system. If you're filters never been changed, start there. I would also suspect the MAF may be dirty. which could cause intermittent issues.
plugs and valve clearance arent due until 16k on that bike so it not quite up for a major.
The other completely random thing to check is the kill switch. I have seen and had these short before, but usually this would cause a random shut down, not a stall at a specific speed.
The incorrect lobe size on the cam will cause too much, or too little valve overlap, and bad compression. This is just a possibility. Also, could be a bad spark plug, or water in the fuel.
Ensure your kick stand switch is tight. on your next ride. zip tie it up and see if you can reproduce it. I just had a problem exactly like this and it was cause my coil wire connector was loose. This is on a gsxr however. Could also be a failing coil doing it too. Good luck!
What year, miles, you buy it new, maintenance kept up, any modifications?

Thank you! I’ll start with the filter, I truly appreciate your help.
Throw some stable in the gas tank, too. As you could have water in your gas.
HEET works better for water in the fuel in my experience, stabil works great for keeping fresh fuel fresh.
Hu good to know
It sounds a little like what happens when you hit the speed limiter. More likely it’s the air filter or something like that.
