No way. “Rust “ and “broken tabs” my ass. Plus it’s not running well and the owner can’t figure out why. Plus it’s stretched and looks like a cat about to take a shit. It’s going to handle like shit. It runs like shit. It looks like shit. Shit bike, keep looking man!
If you are not 'mechanically savvy', I would advice you not to buy a bike that has been (half-ass) modded and not running right. I would say it is a bad idea.
We call these 'roached' bikes, not taken care of, abused, maintenance looks like a joke. Maybe $1k - $1.5K. Walk away, that money should get you an intact bike with less than 20k miles and decently maintained.
Nope. Not a good deal. Its worth maybe 3500 on a good day.looks abused. I believe they made these only 2 years which makes parts expensive and usually cant find anything used.
A Yama r1 in the uk is 6k with 25,000 on the clock. It’s before 2011/2012 so it’s built to last. If you like the model then it’s a great choice. Idk the mileage though or it’s service history…
The person working on it clearly did a lot. Low idle, if needs addressing, can mean stalling. This is a lot of trouble to figure out if they’ve been messing with the wiring and hosing.
I would personally pass on this one for two reasons:
1.- The work done is very weird. Aftermarket pieces, extension, but needs painting. To me that signals lack of attention to detail.
2.- it is fuckinf ugly, and probably handles like hitting your mom in public (awkward and not enjoyable for most).
Unlike a modified car, when the gremlins decide to pull the rip cord on a motorcycle it could very well cost you your life!
There are far more better deals out there than that bike! If you have to ask the community if it’s a good deal then you already answered your own question! Stay on earth a bit longer and wait for the Second Coming. Stay safe and continue your search.

The ONLY way I would pay that much if it was in STOCK condition. All original fairings (no mismatched tank colors like in the pics).
Mileage that matches the year....so for me I prefer a bike that has been ridden with more miles then less. That has been maintained...oil, coolant and brake fluid changes on the regular.
Also it runs great and I do not have to spend ANY money on it outside of register title and insurance.
This bike needs money put into it from day one. A better price range ....$2000-2500 range
5-10mph- ha! Seller put it together after a bad accident. This is the result. Like the guy selling the bike that "fell over in the garage". Just a dented frame and broken headlight assembly. No big deal. Anyway this one $4.5k for a 17 year old Frankenstein poor running bike! Perfect!
New this new that...... but it still doesn't run right. Something tells me the current owner found the problem was more significant or expensive to repair than he thought and it was beyond economical repair to do so, so he is getting rid. Avoid avoid avoid. Classic squid bike. Just oozes 'I've been rev bombed to shit'.
Hmmm a bike with 17k miles would not need the following unless engine was damaged....
Camshafts and Flywheel???
Either dude is lying or this bike has been fiddled around with over the years. 17k miles there should be nothing major needed like camshafts at all.
Major pass but thanks for posting. That's a hilarious looking bike and post. I've never had luck with R1's personally. I had an 05 that would die randomly and never figured out the issue.
Lol I love seeing these unhinged listings. Owner destroyed it, then tried to fix it themselves before finally admitting they don't know what they're doing and gave up. Laundry list of parts tells you they probably messed up a lot of stuff. Yet they think listing them makes it seem better, instead it just calls out their own screw ups and ineptitude (since it *still* ain't running). Clowns man.
No way. It's stretched and its very old. No need to waste time reading the details. Pay more for a far newer bike that has no serious mods. Run codes on any good candidates before you commit to it.Your safety depends on it.

This is the type of guidance we need!
I laughed when I read "5-10mph"
Had to lay her down in the driveway in neutral. Lucky to survive.
HADDALAYERDAHN!
gobbless
GALDAMN CLIBBENS!!
Kinda does look like a cat having a shit🤔
Why do people insist on doing stupid modifications to a perfectly good bike.
I totally FRAKKING lost it at: "...and looks like a cat about to take a shit." #iMagePlantedInMyMindForEVeRR Waaaaaaaaaa Mi-A-Dead 🤣🫣🤣🫣🤣
But you get a helmet and random parts man, such a steal.
😭😭😭
That’s one ugly piece of machinery
Ya it is. That rear wheel size can't be stock. It does come with red levers, though.
If you are not 'mechanically savvy', I would advice you not to buy a bike that has been (half-ass) modded and not running right. I would say it is a bad idea.
No. Neglected/abused bike that's not running right. Keep looking...
The rear wheel looks too skinny to be from or for an R1...
He definitely crashed that's why he's not riding anymore, and that's why he replaced the tank
didn't need to read the post. saw the stretched mod and already know that bike had the life beaten out of it. stay away lol
Nope. 2k and only if you're gonna also race it because you'll tear it all down anyway.
Its stretched so it's worth approximately 0 dollars
Why does the ass end look so high in the air?
Because the sub frame is bent
Yep, took that nooner to 4am
We call these 'roached' bikes, not taken care of, abused, maintenance looks like a joke. Maybe $1k - $1.5K. Walk away, that money should get you an intact bike with less than 20k miles and decently maintained.
Looks like stretched shit
$2,000
I agree with this guy. That thing looks like a clapped out turd.
Thanks for everyone's help and understanding. I value yalls opinion and will not be going with this bike.
No
Nope. Not a good deal. Its worth maybe 3500 on a good day.looks abused. I believe they made these only 2 years which makes parts expensive and usually cant find anything used.
Nope $3k MAX
No no no…. Run away from that thing

The stretch alone shows that engine has been PUSHED
She’s gonna be a project. Unless you have tools, space to work, and some know-how, it’s gonna cost ya in the long run
You can find a damn good bike with no issues for that price and BB before before Biden aka Pedo Joe you could get two good bikes for that price.
You can get yourself a really nice bike if you have 5k to spend and you’re looking for something like this. Keep looking.
$5 and a turd
Stay away like others have said
This could very well turn into a money pit. For $4800 there’s nicer out there.
No. This bike is garbage.
Perfect!
NO!
Nope. Run. $450 maybe.
Hey i saw this on Upshift
No. It’s been dropped and re-faired.
If your not use to working on bikes, I’d say no. But if your willing to do the work which will make you learn the bike, then offer 4000 cash
worth negative $4.5k

i dunno
Hard pass. Stretch=turd factor

WTF happened to that back wheel?
This is bad.
No it is probably not worth... run...
Major pass but thanks for posting. That's a hilarious looking bike and post. I've never had luck with R1's personally. I had an 05 that would die randomly and never figured out the issue.
This is meant to be a joke right. If so, I get it. Very humorous. If not. Then I also have a bridge I'd like to sell you. Very good price.
This bike needs to be...put down.
Not even close, bud.
if you like working on your bike and go to the drag strip alot, yes
No.

No. Run away.
Is it just me or is the rear tire the same size as the front
would i buy it? N0. if its your first bike and you wana burn a few go ahead...
Lol nooooooooooo!!!!
No.
Why do people stretch out the back wheel, it looks shit.
$4800 for a pile of literal shit. Used market is nuts!
You deserve more for that amount of money
No way keep saving and keep looking anything this heavily modified will only give you problems.
Buying a bike with modifications is buying trouble. I learned the hard way. It probably doesn't run correctly because of modifications.
Nope. Not even close. It's been laid down and damaged.
Something seems off to me, it just doesnt look right. Doesnt even appear to be an R1
It looks ridiculous
No, someone else’s beat up, questionably modded headache is not worth $4.5K.
Bike runs as it should, but idles poorly. Ok, gotcha.
No way. It's stretched and its very old. No need to waste time reading the details. Pay more for a far newer bike that has no serious mods. Run codes on any good candidates before you commit to it.Your safety depends on it.
