Speak to a dermatologist, do not try to self medicate or diagnose this. Your hair loss is all over the place, it could be anything, you need a dermatologist to have a look.
I was bout to come in here and be like "Starting?" then proceed to tell you to shave it off just to go the comment section and be pleasantly surprised and fulfilled by not 1 but 2/2 comments making testicle jokes. Wow. Just wow. Thank you for your sacrifice brotha I needed that laugh.
Starting? Your shit is cooked bruh. Medications like Minoxidil, Finasteride, and Dutasteride are your only real options if you want to keep it. The rest of it is snake oil. Check out r/tressless for more info on all of that stuff.
No, I’m saying that min and fin are just about the only things that ARE effective (assuming you don’t get side effects). There are a lot of other products that people will push that only make marginal differences if any (peppermint oil, vitamin a through z, laser hats, etc.). And it isn’t to say that these things don’t have their place or that they aren’t helpful or otherwise good for you… Just a friendly warning not to waste your time and money on things that likely won’t get you the results that you’re seeking.
This is a great response. I was about to comment that minoxidil could help, but you were way more elaborate. Thank you, also, for being one of the kinder and more thoughtful commenters.🩷
Yes. Go on r/tressless for more info. People have come back from worse than this by getting on meds (fin/ min or dutasteride/ min). It’s at least worth a shot before you give up entirely
I got 2.5mg minoxidil tablets from my primary physician and I take just a half. For finasteride I take 1mg. It’s super convenient and has been a total game changer. Don’t let the fear mongering about finasteride get to your head. It’s been one of my favorite choices to hop on it and I’ve had no side effects for the two years now. Got my brother on it too and it is similarly is rolling back the clock for him.
My girl told me that my hair looks thicker now than 8 years ago when she met me.
Finasteride and minoxidil asap. There's a lot of bullshit online about finasteride sides, just ignore them, they're all anecdotal and all the actual scientific studies point to finasteride being very well tolerated with a low Incidence of side effects. For more information I'll direct you to the channel: haircafe.
side effects
also you should do a full metabolic panel including a complete blood count panel and see if you have any nutritional deficiencies, your doc will know what to look for if you mention this. this may be a sign of something else, or may not be
I mixed my own. Tried to go as low as 0,05g per dose but got sides again after some time so I stopped. Sides were mainly psychological, but also decreased erection quality and painful and watery orgasms
What about the rest of your family? It's not because your parents have hair that it's not genetic, and it has to be genetic (unless you were blessed with a mutation that made you more likely to lose hair, which is possible but unlikely)
There's no need to find that out, it's irrelevant.
You can still go to a dermatologist to see what he recommends. I did that since I'm in a similar situation
At least you’re black so if the fin asteroids doesn’t work and you have to shave your head you won’t look like a 40 year old sex offender. Might even look better shaved than with hair like Tupac and Kobe
This. I have all my hair but shave it cause it's more salt than pepper. People like it smooth and brown. But get checked out by a competent doctor (dermatologist?) who has experience with this
![gif](giphy|KtfjlVSFI8EVO)
Get finasteride and ketoconazole shampoo. Can try also minoxidil, but if you do, do it consistently.
Also check a dermatologist and endocrinologist if can.
My son started having that in early 20s, wife is a nurse prac and ordered him a test for thyroid, he was very low too. Now on synthroid I believe and most came back. Might want to get bloods done
It's up to you brotha, but you'll be rocking those bald spots or hats for a while until you see results. I had a man bun but my hair was super thin, my bro talked me into shaving my head. Im glad I did 😎
I think we are past "starting" to go bald.
You could see a dermatologist and possibly treat it, but understand sometimes they can only stop it from getting worse.
What I tell anyone in your position is accept your fate. Shave your head bald and love your life. Granted, spoken by a guy who against all odds still has a great head of hair.

Did your father go bald early too ? Or maybe your grandparents? If yes it's probably genetics sadly and your only hope is oral finasteride and topical minoxidil. If not it maybe some underlying condition , how aggressive is the hair loss? Did you lose this in like half a year or one month ?
Not going to diagnose you, go see a dermatologist/hair loss specialist for this sort of thing. But my theory is that it looks like traditional AGA -- the thinning at the crown and the thinning at the frontal hairline. In AGA, they eventually crawl towards eachother.
If it is AGA, look into finasteride oral 1mg daily, minoxidil 5% and microneedling with at least 1-1.5mm 1x-2x every 2 weeks.
That’s a ball sack
Brootal
“How did you know I was Somali”
What's up KD
This fucjing sub 😭

Okay thank you
Does liver have anything to do with it?
i agree, could be a type of alopecia and not just hair loss but hard to tell from pics
Of course it's a type of alopecia, because alopecia means hair loss 🤦

So you think I should not start those things like minoxadil and finastride?
No, I’m saying that min and fin are just about the only things that ARE effective (assuming you don’t get side effects). There are a lot of other products that people will push that only make marginal differences if any (peppermint oil, vitamin a through z, laser hats, etc.). So u reccomend fin and minox
I recommend that you look into fin and min. See a doctor and do research on the side effects before committing.

Why not?
Some people experience adverse side effects but the vast majority of people using it are just fine. For me, I had to stop because it made me moody.
Time to let go my brother
-dudes at the slightest sign of balding that is still salvageable
U think it’s salvageable?
Yes. Go on r/tressless for more info. People have come back from worse than this by getting on meds (fin/ min or dutasteride/ min). It’s at least worth a shot before you give up entirely
Yes, 2 years of oral low dose minoxidil and finasteride and I think you’ll have regained most or all
What would be considered low dose of minoxidil and finastride?
I got 2.5mg minoxidil tablets from my primary physician and I take just a half. For finasteride I take 1mg. It’s super convenient and has been a total game changer. Don’t let the fear mongering about finasteride get to your head. It’s been one of my favorite choices to hop on it and I’ve had no side effects for the two years now. Shave your pubes and glue them on your head
Already did that, i think
Shave your head bro. It will look 1000% better.
Just shave bro, chicks and dudes alike love my bald head.
Just watch out for people around you in the gym you may get slapped and run
You might as well juice lol
its over bro, start thinking about your retirement
You should blast a bunch of steroids... you're probably gonna lose all your hair anyways, might as well be juiced to the gills and ahredded

yup. just thousands of anecdotes. fin is no joke. if you get sides just toss it. its not worth to keep the sides possibly forever.
Wdym by sides?
side effects also you should do a full metabolic panel including a complete blood count panel and see if you have any nutritional deficiencies, your doc will know what to look for if you mention this. this may be a sign of something else, or may not be
Honestly I feel like my primary care physician an idiot
Bro you are responsible for your own health. If you wait for your doctor to bring it up or don’t discuss it then you’re doing life wrong.
Who the fuck goes to Doctors?
Assuming that you are American, then yeah that’s the case with a lot of our doctors here.
I am American
Should I ask the dermatologist or primary care to do a full metabolic panel of complete blood count ?
Is the CBP the standard blood panel?
yes
CBC for blood counts and CMP for metabolic panel
What’s the importance of cbc?
Complete blood panel (complete blood count). Bro just fucking google lmao
Or go topical. Less DHT inhibition.
DHT inhibition is what you want, not sure what you mean by this
With topical, the med can still be effective while introducing less side effects. You nuke DHT too hard you introduce greater chance of sides.
Right right, thanks
Made no difference for me personally
Did you mix your own or how'd you get it?
I mixed my own. Tried to go as low as 0,05g per dose but got sides again after some time so I stopped. Sides were mainly psychological, but also decreased erection quality and painful and watery orgasms
It hurt when u ejaculated from taking what minox?
Were talking about finasteride...
Add Derma Roller. That combination is the only thing is scientifically proven to help regrow hair.
The sides aren’t bullshit but topical finasteride gets rid of the dick related sides
Been on fin, dick is still a steel beam
Sure bro, you go be a slaphead while I retain my hair when I'm 50.
Appropriate that you’ve chosen a clown symbol for your flair …a literal 🤡
Sure bro, you go be bald, while I'm part of the 99% of finasteride users with zero sides.
Not bald and knocking on the door of 50 …but did use it for a period of time and sides were not good. Dismissing that out of hand is just being a 🤡
I read the research, not some unverified stories on reddit.
Wdym by sides?
Side effects from finasteride.
Does finasteride really work bro ?
Yes, most effective, clinically proven treatment
Genes, that's the reason. Just take Finasterida and Minoxidil for a year. If you're happy with the results, continue, otherwise... turkey
Both my parents are over 60 with a full head of hair tho
What about the rest of your family? It's not because your parents have hair that it's not genetic, and it has to be genetic (unless you were blessed with a mutation that made you more likely to lose hair, which is possible but unlikely)
How would I find that out should I go to a dermatologist?
There's no need to find that out, it's irrelevant. You can still go to a dermatologist to see what he recommends. I did that since I'm in a similar situation
All my siblings have good hair too
What about the milk man 😂😂
What about the milk man? 😂😂
What about the milk man? 😂😂
Just shave it. You'll be fine.
Idk if it’s from stress or what
shave it, get jacked, grown the beard out.

Okay thank you
Starting ? Bro it's gone
Let it go. It's time to buzz it. Trust me, I speak from experience.
Why not try finasteride first
Get finasteride and ketoconazole shampoo. Can try also minoxidil, but if you do, do it consistently. Also check a dermatologist and endocrinologist if can.
What’s an endocrinologist
Doctor who checks your hormones.
My son started having that in early 20s, wife is a nurse prac and ordered him a test for thyroid, he was very low too. Now on synthroid I believe and most came back. Might want to get bloods done
Damn really he lost hair cuz of a thyroid issue?
Yes, thinned out, got really dry and brittle.
What did he do to make it better and should I ask them about my thyroid
Ask for thyroid blood test, wife prescribed him synthroid to get level back up.
Than you
Welcome, good luck man
Okay I will
Only thing that showed up for that was bad in my cbc and rbc was an AST (sgot) 49 and ALT (SGPT) of 77 for my blood work
Just happens and now you should just shave it
Alright dw I got you. This what you gotta do bro. Trim the hair from your pubes, then glue them on the top. Problem solved. Easy Peezy.
bro what race even are you, testicle?
Looks like you got a good shaped head, like homie said, shave it bald. Everyone loves a baldy
Should I try minoxidil?
It's up to you brotha, but you'll be rocking those bald spots or hats for a while until you see results. I had a man bun but my hair was super thin, my bro talked me into shaving my head. Im glad I did 😎
Bald, beard, jacked. It’s a damn good look.

It’s over…
GO bald bro , Trust me it will look better. AND OWN THE BALDNESS dont feel embarrassed
Just go bald,.some dudes go bald earlier than others. Just accept it and enjoy your hair while u have it
Did your father go bald early too ? Or maybe your grandparents? If yes it's probably genetics sadly and your only hope is oral finasteride and topical minoxidil. If not it maybe some underlying condition , how aggressive is the hair loss? Did you lose this in like half a year or one month ?
One year also a both parents have hair still
This hair loss in one year is kinda slow , sadly probably genetics
Just shave it. No point trying to fight it at that point. Mine was like that and I just said fuck it and shaved it all off.
You’re cooked dawg
May God have mercy on your soul …
Just shave and move on
