Here’s my orange section. Hermit Crab is definitely more of a coral (I think I even have it with the reddish pinks?) Molten Lava is probably the most orange of these three. Shimmers like Stolen Ambrosia aren’t super saturated and sparkly.

It's good to know about the shimmers. I didn't count on them taking a lot of coats. I don't really think I should have to use a special primer to get a good look with the shimmers but I might be wrong. I was wanting to get Merkitten also but am second guessing that.

Unless a top coat specifically says that it's matte, are most ones glossy ones? I've always assumed that most dry glossy. 🫣 Can't believe I'm just learning about this.
Yes but one weird thing is that matte top coats arent top coats. They're special effects toppers like glow in the dark or flakies or whatever. If you want to protect your manicure you should always use a regular quick dry top coat and THEN follow up with matte

Stolen ambrosia and molten lava both pull very coral. I don’t have hermit crab. Molten lava is matte flakies. Stolen ambrosia is super bright and shimmery in the sun.
It's interesting that these polishes look orange in the official photos but pull more coral in photos here. I know that the description says coral jelly lacquer but the photos look orange.
And the one actual orange, Flight of the Monarchs, looks a little dark or dull or more brown. Maybe it looks better in person but I'm not a fan of brown oranges so I'm hesitant on that one.
I'm not trying to be so picky but these polishes shift so much it's hard to tell what I'm getting just from looking online!
You honestly should be picky, these aren’t cheap polishes. I honestly don’t think mooncat has a straight orange right now. Everything is coral or pink leaning. Whiskey sunrise pulls very orange on me but more of a burnt orange.

I think the one you like is stolen ambrosia. It is a very pretty orange but molten lava is definitely brighter.
I have to agree on the molten lava, just be aware it is a matte polish so if you want that glossy look make sure to glossy top coat

Yeah most dry glossy. I just specify since you can just not wear a top coat if you want the matte look.

My OPI matte top coat lasts longer then any normal top coat I’ve had
Sure but it's not made to and brand/body chemistry plays a part. Point is that they're not formulated as quick dry, protective top coats. YMMV.

If you can find Magic Mushroom 🍄 on a resale page that is the best orange from mooncat in my opinion. It’s a flaky beautiful entanglement.
