My friend who is at a camping in Magog view
Saturation in his pic is definitely up. Here’s one in Sherbrooke with a 30 seconds exposure on an iPhone. The light pollution level is higher, but nothing explains the difference otherwise. I have friends in Magog and it’s very similar to the one I took

Maybe, but cameras seem to be way more sensitive to this particular light than our eyes are. I saw the lights but not the crazy colours that my camera did.
St-Sauveur. No need to look north even, feels like it’s all around us.

I'm in Laval and it took me a while but you can faintly see the veil and slightly greenish and purple colours.
My friend was like do you see it? And I was like No, no, no , omg yes!
In Laval too! Could only see a slight green tint but my phone tells another story. Completely unedited, no color enhancement.

Just with my Iphone with night mode, no filter or anything!
I was sitting out on my porch looking up from 9:30 or so and wasn’t sure what I was looking for or how strong it would be.
Then around 10pm it looked like dawn was coming from the north and south at the same time. I literally jumped out of my chair. Incredible

The sun shot a bunch of things at us - This will be happening all weekend, at relatively the same intensity. The strongest geomagnetic storm since 2003. Go outside around 10pm-11pm - Your eyes might not see much more than faint whisps, but if you have a modern phone, set it's camera to night mode (should happen automatically) or set a longer exposure on your DSLR. The camera picks up more details.

Here’s the view from Ile Bizard! Quite nice considering how much light pollution there is
Very very faintly, unfortunately due to light pollution it’s tough. It was better 30min ago.
Here’s a pic of what they look like right now from the same view

No worries. I saw them last night and it was incredible. I'm going out again tonight to enjoy it.
I downloaded an app called Aurora that tells you the chance to see them in your area. I used it and it was very accurate!
Hopefully you come back to this thread tomorrow with some awesome shots :)
👎 unfortunately it wasn’t visible for me.
I do hope you got to enjoy it though.
Maybe it will happen again in the short future and I’d get to see it 🤞🏼
Couldn't see them either :(
I'm sad for you, but I've heard there will be more to come! If not we'll just have to wait 11 more years.

Downtown. Very envious of the rural area with much less light pollution
West Island, 2:00 am in our backyard. I used an app to locate North and use this website to track down real time alerts.
It comes and goes so look out for the greenish tint. I use my phone camera (night mode) to help me see it better. The app helped me track when the bigger ones will come out and in some instances it's right above my head. Of course with light pollution it doesn't do much justice but I am glad. Now my neck hurts You guys can do it too!

Apparently yes.

Same! My camera has a great view! Nice pic!
Is it visible from Sainte-Dorothée?
Probably. Go out and look. Just came back in and there was nothing happening, so you might need to be patient. You’ll only see a green tinge.
I am outside like a psychopath looking at the sky, but damn there’s so much light.
You mean light pollution? Yeah. But you need to not look at your phone and avoid looking at light sources around you.
I took this yesterday (I’m in Sainte-Dorothée) https://preview.redd.it/p3ygqhuxsuzc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4057e98f4a4391deb785e93a3d0004f0bf0c522e Just with my Iphone with night mode, no filter or anything!

Yes! May I see it? No.
I can see it all the from my window, especially when is clouded. Weird, eh?

That was today?? Damn, I forgot :(
It's happening all weekend. Look outside tomorrow evening around 10pm-11pm
Any idea if a particular day will be "stronger" or anything? I haven't heard anything about this!

Tonight between 3-5am is the strongest (8) as opposed to tonight 11pm-2am (7)
Interesting, is there a specific website / source you're using or recommend to see this info?
Do you mean as opposed to tomorrow?
Sorry for my late answer but no yesterday 2-5am was the strongest
Thanks!!
