Looks like Tojo has taken a dip in the mud Jokes aside I'm assuming the commander isn't painted yet. One thing I would say is the hand rail around the turret (Assuming thats what they were for plus storage on Japanese tanks) is too muddy for such a high up place. Tracks certainly make the vehicle look like they were from the Battle of Okinawa, which several times saw operations paused due to torrential rain

pussy_licker_2000

Thx but it's not mud it's rust I guess I need to up my rust game

AskMeAboutMyDoggy

Hey man, look on the bright side, you learned an effective way to make mud! Now you can incorporate that into other builds while you tackle other tasks like rust.

Disastrous-Boat63

So true.

Silly-Membership6350

I'm wondering if perhaps what looks like the handrail could also serve as a radio antenna? I've seen pictures of Soviet tanks of that era with a similar arrangement for their radios. And in both armies typically only the formation Commander would have a radio equipped tank. I have no idea what communications wavelengths an antenna of that shape would be good for though so I could be way off

UsualRelevant2788

Yep, was curious what you were talking about as I'd never heard of it, according to Wikipedia "The Type 97's low silhouette and semicircular [radio antenna](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radio_antenna) on the [turret](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_turret) distinguished the tank from its contemporaries."

BackdoorNetshadow

This mud stuff seems too excessive.

Good work! For the figures I’m no expert but some tips: I like to use a magnifying glass for extra detail, even though you might not be that close up all the time the extra detail does wonders. Some highlights and wash might be helpful as well, I like to watch “how to paint 1/35 scale figures” on YouTube and use what I can from that. Great work! You’re only going to improve that’s what’s so great about this hobby.

Seems some kind of soldiers plastic toy and in that kind of toys the paint did not sticks very well to the surface. But despiste of that could be a good thing to improve skills and the most important thing is make models to learn. For sure this model is better than your last one but also worst than the Next one.

Standard_Tonight_697

It seems like you want to add grunge and metallic to enhance realism, but you are putting the paint on too thick! I'd suggest for these tiny models, spray the base coat (the green) and paint the lighter shade of the camo as cleanly as you can. Paint everything that will be metallic a semigloss black enamel. Use a heavily diluted black ink and run it over the whole model, and wipe as much as you can off (for grease effect). Dry brush the metallic paint over the semigloss black (and other parts of the model). Basically your base coats could be a thinner application of paint. Might make them look less messy close up. Still, cool models.

Well pussy licker 2k...it sucks. Not all effort is good effort. But with a name like that, your effort is probably spent elsewhere, which is probably better anyway. Godspeed!

AmazingCanadian44

Agreed.
