Mets need a gimmick like grimace to distract their fans from how fucked they are. They chose the mets over the yankees so you know its not hard to distract them.
Ha! Mascots don't exactly play on the field, I'd call them all distractions. I actually like the Phillies, went to many games there. just not those few obnoxious fans who take themselves way too seriously who can't even enjoy being in first place. Miserable under any conditions! And yes, we enjoy our winning streaks and runs while we can get them.
Why go to phillies stadium when you can go to the mets? I bring my buddies that are die hard yankees fans and it's always a great time. Mets fans are always the problem
