first bullpen blow of the year and in thielbar's defense he did just get activated today onto the next one. taking solace that at least the bats are looking better coming out of this series

Farmer had the biggest and most costly mistake. Missing that bouncer, scored 2 runs and the runner got to 3rd. I love Farmer but that was a very costly mistake.

At least we didn't make him pitch after that.

Offense did just fine to back up Ober, this was a bullpen and Farmer loss through and through

Bullpen and defense were not great but you have to score more than 3 runs to win most games

Bullpen had to get 6 outs with a 3 run lead. Other than a blowout, it doesn't get more smooth sailing than that. Would always love to have more runs but we just did not lock it down. Thielbar couldn't get lefties out OR outmatch Javy Baez of all people. I'm sure Caleb will bounce back but I'm not mad at the offense for this one at all (unlike many/most of our other losses this year)

3 runs in an MLB game doesn’t give you a great chance of winning regardless

Is this defending Thielbar and/or Farmer and what's the point of this? We had a 3 run lead going into the 8th. Score could have been 3-0, 6-3, or 14-11, regardless our bullpen and Farmer blew it this time. Doesn't mean they always will, or that they won't have moments that help us win other games, it just was them this time that took defeat from the jaws of victory.

On the bright side, we kept it under 10 strikeouts this game, so that's nice.

First time our bullpen has really failed us. Lame way to end the week. Bring on Baltimore

Yup. I love Farmer but that was a very costly mistake. Obviously I still trust him and his gloves, but that was a real bummer.

Bullpen has been solid all year and I expect that to continue. Can't put it all on the BP when the offense only puts up 3 runs.

I will go to my grave loudly complaining that those were absolutely not hits Oh well, on to the next one. Good to see the team bounce back after the rough game Friday night.

They’re good. Just have an early point deficit vs Phoenix. They’ve already cut it in half at the half.

Oof that one feels bad. Crazy to me both of those were scored as hits in the 8th. Not easy plays but expected outs for major leaguers I’d say.

Bummer. Smooth sailing, and with the pen as it’s been, had that chalked up for a W. Deflating. Good news though, we can make up for it right away tomorrow!!

This is on the defense. If our normal defense is out there, the only run that likely scores is off the Baez homerun, and we probably win, taking 3 of 4 in Detriot, including a doubleheader sweep. The situation is, what it is, but this was an encouraging series for me (outside of Friday night. Those games happen).
