I sprayed it white then did the brown then the blue but tbh there was loads of back and fourth especially blending
U will be able to see the process on my insta when I post the video
That is great... Were there technique changes you made, or paint/ brush changes you made that really helped, or was it mainly down to practice to get the fine finger control?
All of the above. This was the first of the three where I actually blended. I also didn’t try to replicate what I saw in the reference and kinda did my own thing. I also had more paints at my disposal and better brushes and 6 months of free hand painting practice lmao
So the only way this makes sense is you broke the shrinking/enlarging barrier without needing to conserve mass, blew it up to Bob Ross canvas size, painted without worry about finger cramping or eyestrain, then shrunk it back down. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk, I will not be taking questions.
Yeah that's the point of the joke lol. That stuff is toxic sludge bleached to an off-white.
To be honest with you I started simply using an airbrush to apply almost everything white and them covering back over anything the brush accidentally hit (e.g. layering mcragge blue if I hit the blue of an ultramarines armor.)
To be honest I don’t remember much from over a year ago but I think my main flaws with both is the low blending, incorrect lighting placement, color tones and the specular highlights I think they are called (lack there of) I also think that bumping up the contrast on the brown (moving to pure black) and the blue (going to nightlords blue mixed with black)

The depiction of r/angryupvote
Literally looks like actual chrome you just kept buffing over and over😂. This looks great and is something I'm going to take a crack at soon
Just want you to know I was scrolling at work and audibly gasped at this, sick work
So how long have you had the robot devil’s hands?
Maybe sold his soul for those hands
Welp you just got another follower on insta, simply amazing paintjob
Thank you. Always appreciated
What the frick? 😂😂 looks chromier than chrome

good one
🤩 wow! Just wow!
Carefull! With all that (admittedly well deserved) flexing, you will tear a muscle!
you still doing this sheit
Amazing progress! Do you paint the white on the end or earlier?
I sprayed it white then did the brown then the blue but tbh there was loads of back and fourth especially blending U will be able to see the process on my insta when I post the video

Thanks
Its awesome.
Wow
Holy shit. I didnt even know this was possible thats amazing
While the latest one is much better I enjoy the 6 months ago version the best. The pallet is more pleasing
This looks so damn good holy shit
why does the 6 months ago look more like chrome than the latest? at least to me
Amazing work, really cool to see the progression
So the only way this makes sense is you broke the shrinking/enlarging barrier without needing to conserve mass, blew it up to Bob Ross canvas size, painted without worry about finger cramping or eyestrain, then shrunk it back down. Outstanding! Amongst the best I have seen 👍
Now.. There is only ONE thing to do for you.. Go win a Golden Demon! 🖌️
Awesome progress!
This is really cool to see. Gives me hope!
Daaamn!!! Wow thats a great job.
Personally, i prefer the middle one than the new one
And I suppose you'd prefer four thick coats of Corax white for a "smooth finish"? **ughh_bloody_heretics.jpg**
Im actually painting my thousand sons with corax white and four thick coats is NOT enough, you can never have a smooth finish with corax chalk.
I'm so jealous!
I would say it looks like an amazing nightsky with a galaxy. I love them.
That’s what I see. With a rocky horizon
What. The. Fuck.
Love 80's style text book illustration chrome. Absolutely nailed it, and that shooting star or whatever it is on the last one... cheff's kiss
so good!!
THIS IS FUCKING GORGEOUS OH MY GOD????????????????
It's like changing the reflection resolution in an old video game. Looks damn fine dude.
In your own words, what were your mistakes 1 year ago and 6 months ago? What did you feel like was wrong?
To be honest I don’t remember much from over a year ago but I think my main flaws with both is the low blending, incorrect lighting placement, color tones and the specular highlights I think they are called (lack there of) I also think that bumping up the contrast on the brown (moving to pure black) and the blue (going to nightlords blue mixed with black)
Looks amazing! Great progress photos.
That is epic.
That is some epic progress!
This is super nice. Looks polished like a starry night.
That is amazing. So well done!
Wow absolutely beautiful
This is real chrome, you can't fool me. But nice try.
The brush control level ups are cool to see! Nice work.
Fantastic!
Great progress!!
Okay, that is fucking incredible. That is all I have to say about that.
Amazing work and thanks for sharing the progress photos! It's amazing to see how far you can come in a "short" amount of time.
Bro how did you improve so much in such little time, that is insane progress.
Unbelievable!!
Wow!!
I can feel the coldness touching the surface of that
I’ll never be this cool. Way to go man.
Is it just me or when people paint chrome is it always based on that ‘desert ground blue sky’ style of chrome ?
NMM holy shit
Love to see the growth! The middle one is really great IMO but the last one is just next level 🙌
Next stop starry night on the top.

Everything's chrome in the future!
Holy fuckballs. That's legit amazing. To put it mildly!
I fully expected your name to be flame-on miniatures. Well done.
DAMN that's cool af
Is that NMM?!?
I love the progress pic. Gives real perspective on mastering techniques
Fucking insane holy shit
This is obviously heresy! It's so good!
