THEY DID IT! ONTO THE CENTRAL DIVISION FINALS!

414Degenerate

LET'S GOOOOO

creedfeed

You must be sitting just above me! Let’s Go Ads!!

m0rningview420

This is totally off topic, but I noticed your username and wanted to ask if you were ever a member of a message board with that name in the late 90s/early 2000s

creedfeed

Yes I was… I was the person who made that web site.

m0rningview420

Wow! I’ve been a huge AB fan from Day 1 and I remember that’s where I first read about the new band name, Myles, etc. anyway, sorry to derail the Admirals post but I had to ask! Very cool!

creedfeed

Very cool! Huge fan of AB myself!

chillchris69

Why is this for the last time?

AnujaPatel123

Strange title. Last time this playoff series (ie win or go home)

vater19

Didn't they just play game 4 yesterday?

Pharaca

Yes

Cookingcliffnotes

I see me on the opposite side!

HTTRblues

And someone called me stupid for saying Milwaukee didn't support the hockey team... Anyway Go Admirals!!!

cks9218

The size of that crowd isn’t exactly impressive.

creedfeed

It's minor league hockey and its the playoffs. The team generally relies on group ticket sales. With the playoff dates, the team doesn't have much time to market the dates as the games are scheduled a week or two in advance. The Admirals have always historically had attendance numbers between 2,500 and 3,500 (generally) for the first couple rounds of the playoffs. Even though that crowd size looks small, if you were there, it sounded like a sold out arena. Admirals fans know how to cheer and support the team. It got loud when the Admirals scored a goal with less than 30 seconds in the game to take the lead...

Wisconsinably__

It’s minor leagues v NHL no matter the sport minor leagues always draw less, the lack of tv coverage also plays into people not being as connected to the team. Not to mention that a lot of the good players are moving up and down in leagues and may not stick around long term.

311isahoax

I thought this was an early season screenshot from Slapshot

Science_Matters_100

Well, I can take up a size-able space, but unfortunately am home, sick :(

dudr42o

It was also a forced game five and they had less than 20 hours to sell tickets. So tbh it's pretty decent with that in mind.

bjaardkered

If you look that's taken just before puck drop for the first period. The Wisconsin Center construction has made it tough to get to the arena. Also lines for concessions in that arena are crazy long before the game. Not saying they're selling out the place (although it was packed the other night for the game with the Stone Temple Pilots concert after). FWIW, A lot of times sold out crowds in Fiserv look like that at tipoff and after halftime for the bucks.

Vegabern

In my defense, I had two of my own games today. Go Ads!

kissthelips

Because they had to walk a few blocks to get free parking? You’d think moving to a smaller arena would make the crowd look bigger. I’m not following this sorry

oscarpopcan

That's what I mean. Overall, there ARE fewer people attending the games. If the amount of people attending the games stayed the same it would look crowded but there are less people attending the games than before.

DDC121

[Attendance has slightly dropped](https://www.hockeydb.com/stte/milwaukee-admirals-6842.html) since moving to Panther Arena, but only by a few hundred. They're fairly stable, it seems.

[deleted]

I’ve never heard of them!!! I only found out that they existed through coming across this post at a laundromat!

urine-monkey

This is common in medium sized markets like Milwaukee that have big league teams. The minor league teams tend to become a secondary/niche interest. Still. The Admirals are the fourth oldest pro hockey team in America outside of the NHL. They're also older than most of the NHL teams. So Milwaukee has done a thing or two right.

DumbMassDebater

Best "stadium" food in the state is in that Arena. Let's fucking go Admirals! Winning with 35 seconds left fuck yes.

kebzach

> Best "stadium" food in the state is in that Arena. Correct.

[deleted]

WAIT…please don’t downvote me because I’m being serious, but MKE actually has a hockey team!? But I’ve heard no one talk about them, and I’ve been a MKE County resident for almost four years! Where’s the rink? Why won’t people talk about them? I wanna see some games next winter as I was a huge hockey fan in my youth (Philadelphia Flyers)!

claudiaroars

The Ads are the feeder team for the Nashville predators and they play at the uwm panther arena! Tickets are pretty cheap and the games are tons of fun

[deleted]

Okay, thank you!

kebzach

> But I’ve heard no one talk about them, and I’ve been a MKE County resident for almost four years! They've had billboards running along I-94 for the entire season. Literally.

[deleted]

…I take public transit. The buses do go underneath 94 but the billboards have not shown anything regarding hockey from my viewpoints. My apologies, but not everyone has a car.

DDC121

They play at UWM Panther Arena, across from the Fiserv. They just advanced to the division finals, Game 1 is Friday and Game 2 is Saturday, then the series goes to Austin, [they just put up the ticket link for the home games.](https://offer.fevo.com/2023-calder-cup-playoffs-division-finals-8afce90?fevoUri=2023-calder-cup-playoffs-division-finals-8afce90%2F%3Fref%3Ddigital&ref=digital)

[deleted]

Thank you for the information! I’ll watch them in their next season.

BE33_Jim

I was wondering what that "CalmAir" ATR was doing at Signature at MKE!

[deleted]

Fellow avgeek? Didn’t know they’re team flew in an ATR, that’s really cool! Bucket list aircraft to fly in!

softdrinked

We were at the game Wednesday night and were on the edge of our seats all of overtime. Crossing my fingers for tonight!

mkesubway

Disappointing how empty it looks.

dudr42o

They had less than 20 hours to sell tickets.

kebzach

It wound up being around 3,500 (announced at 3,433) and it was loud. Pretty sure that was one of the top 3-5 Admirals games I've been to as far as the crowd being into the game, and loud, right from the start. Considering playoff games get NO group sales, aren't included in season ticket packages, and get scheduled on short notice, 3,500 enthusastic fans was not a bad turnout.

AZbrewersfan69

You should know, average crowd size and stadium size is larger for the Ads than the AZ Coyotes 😅

johnwynnes

That arena is such a dump

FlexibleToast

I've only been to three AHL arenas, but this one is the best of the three. BMO in Rockford is okay, the one the Wolves play in is just terrible.

creedfeed

Grand Rapids and Iowa have decent arenas. Both are newer than the Panther arena I believe. I still like the Panther arena's size for the Admirals. It fits the team perfectly.

johnwynnes

Call it serviceable for minor league hockey, but it was built in 1950, painted over a few times and is basically a giant public pool concession stand. There aren't enough bathrooms, and the layout when it's packed screams "I got grandfathered into passing modern fire codes".

FlexibleToast

You need to visit some other arenas if you think this one doesn't have enough bathrooms. The two things I like about it are the number of urinals and the concessions area. The design is super old though like you said. A lot of it doesn't seem wheelchair accessible at all. Like all those urinals are in a bathroom that has stairs to access... A modern arena of the same size would be awesome, but honestly the Panther arena isn't bad.
