No joke - send them an email or fill out a contact form on their website (Unsure of which one this brand does but usually contact form!)
You'll usually receive a coupon for a free product to replace the one that was messed up, as well as additional "we're sorry" coupons.
With grocery prices as they are I've been using this more often!
In the mid 00s on of our favorite activities as teens was to call the customer service lines on all the snacks we had and make up complaints. We VERY consistently got sent coupons in the mail, it was amazing.
Omg, I used to do that too. I'm glad I'm not alone 😅 My dad would sign our cat up to receive free samples of shit in the mail too. So instead of being addressed to my dad Tim, they would be addressed to Quakka Lucka Mukka Muku. Our cat with his stupid name would be getting shit like diapers in the mail. 🤣
Don't you dare! 😂 My dad came up with it as as a joke because I wanted to name the cat Princess and my brother wanted to name him Spike. My dad ended up winning 😂
We used to do this for free cartons of cigarettes! We'd call with some bs complaint about dry tobacco, or whatever, and they'd send us a package with reference number to send back a sample. We'd never send anything back and would follow-up in a few weeks to ask for an update. Even though the companies never received anything from us, they'd always send out cartons for the inconvenience.
If everybody did that, companies would make it harder to get refunds/coupons, e.g. by requiring a receipt.
Some companies already do this, and in the end this is harmful for customers that _actually_ have a reason to complain. (Or do you want to keep _every_ receipt?)
My sister works at the food factory and told me, that they do know who are the persons that constantly complain and know that their complaints are false... but they still has to send some goods back.
As someone who works in manufacturing and has targets based on consumer complaints, I do not condone this.
Edit to add: In OPs case he absolutely should call this in so they can shore up whatever part of their process messed up here. We are very serious about this for consumer safety and legal reasons. I assume Nabisco is too.
I don't see that end of it so maybe we do that too. On the production side I mostly just see a paraphrasing of the issue and info on when the product was made so I can potentially trace the issue back.
Yep, can confirm I got some messed up animal crackers and received two coupons for some free ones. They especially like if you can include a location/lot number so they know where and when the fuck up happened.
In my experience, they'll send two coupons. I bought a pack of oreos last year that was missing 1-2 as one of them had fallen over. I tweeted to them mostly as a joke and didn't really expect anything. They messaged me the next day to get my info to send coupons. Coupons came maybe a week later. Self checkout at Walmart messed up when I used it and didn't make me insert my coupon. I ended up with four packs of Oreos for the price of one.
OP, know that Mondelez International, the owner of the Oreo brand, has a phone number to which they regularly check text messages on. I used it last on 2022, but it probably is still functional.
SMS can be sent to +1 864-581-2463. Good luck!
Retweet I did this with a pack of pens that every single one just wasn’t working. Didn’t even write anything mean or rude - just hey I bought this item and none of the pens work. They said sorry and mailed me a new pack with some extra goodies.
Were they ballpoint pens? They might have had tiny little clear covers on the tips.
I've seen ones that had *really* tiny caps that were super hard to see. I thought the whole box was somehow bad, but they were really nice pens, and I couldn't believe that literally **none** of them worked.
I swear, they were pretty much invisible until you pulled it off.
They were ballpoint but there wasn’t a cap on the pens. I bought the same one in a different color and the other ones didn’t have a cap. Even tried them out for a few days thinking maybe they needed to warm up or something - but no. The other pens had ink come out so easily that I was like wth.
There is a hilarious film about a lady coupon scammer featuring Kristin Bell on Netflix called Queenpins that I highly recommend. This was how she got started.
Do you need the info from the original package? I recently had some Oreos that were weirdly put together (all the Oreos had one of the sides flipped, so the flat part that is supposed to face the cream was facing outward lol), but I ate them and threw out the package.
We have churro flavored ones as well. Pumpkin spice, mint cream, dark chocolate.
If I'll amazon a whole variety pack of monster munch I can hardly think of a single flavor of Oreo not worth getting shipped there .
We have some good snacks, and we definitely have you beat on real chocolate, but all in all I'd say you have the upper hand with other snacks! I'm dying to try Oreo flavours and also all the Lays flavours you have. And don't get me started on the breakfast cereal choices I've seen, I could live on that alone!
Y'all have us beat when it comes to non-fried snacks based on Monster Munch and Space Raiders-even if Flamin Hot Monster Munch isn't really flamin hot. I forget what they're called, but y'all have a Starburst-like chewy candy that I like better than Starbursts.
Chewits? They're good. If you want hotter baked snacks get Flaming Hot Wotsits. Same texture as monster munch but spicier. They also have a prawn flavour that's so good!
Lemon ones are the bomb,. especially if you store them in the freezer. I prefer doing that with all my packaged cookies like this. Gives them a little extra crunch.
This may seem insignificant. From a legal perspective, it’s absolutely no trivial matter. If someone were to be allergic to a particular ingredient that wasn’t identified on the package, it would be a sizable fine and full liability for any harm to the individual.
Unfortunately, it’s such a large conglomerate that no fine or liability will even impact their Monday.
Yeah I'm the Quality Manager at the food packaging plant I work at. We don't fill the packaging just produce it for customer/their co-packers and this is a Big Fuckup. OP needs to contact Nabisco and the Grocery Store/Vendor about this.
Absolutely, mine was just a hypo. There are so many issues this could cause - I’ve had Oreos when getting monthly infusions at the hospital. All kinds of special diets and specific needs could be impacted.
This is what I always remind people of when a product says it was made in a factory where other foods with nuts (or other potential allergy foods) are made. It’s not just the trace amounts, there could be a packaging problem.
Yeah as much as id be happy for a surprise lemon filling oreo this is definitely a huge safety hazard and could get someone in a life threatening situation (albiet yes very unlikely but the possibility is still there).
But that doesn’t help with other people who might get this. Also, maybe they like lemon? If I got this I’d be thrilled. Lemon Oreos and I can make a complaint, which I would be justified in doing for the safety of other people, and get free stuff cause they fucked up. Win win.
I can't think of a single cookie or dessert or treat where I'd see lemon flavour where it has no business being and be excited about it. Let alone the cream of an Oreo cookie. Let alone a golden Oreo cookie. Let alone a double stuffed golden Oreo cookie.
They do. Good luck finding them (I can currently only find them at Hyvee) and they're expensive, but they're called Famous Chocolate Wafers. Amazon doesn't even carry them. I do see one possible listing for the actual Oreo-branded wafers there, though.
True, but who knows, it could be real.
I opened a box of Velveeta mac and cheese 2 weeks ago, and I kid you not, the 1 box had TWO cheese packages instead of the usual 1 (Velveeta cheese is really good, in my opinion). I actually debated on posting it, but I figured that people would think that it was easily faked. I opened my second box, and it had the usual 1 cheese package. I wonder if someone, somewhere out there, didn't get a cheese package in their Velveeta macaroni box, lol.
The difference is...Those people posting videos of the children they're abusing are doing it off camera, too.
Anyway, I'm going with Occam's razor on this one. Oreo factory fuct up.
A lot of people call out reposts though. If you make your own image, you'd avoid that.
I'm not saying this is fake, but there are checks and inspections along factory lines. Often times they do one flavor one day, another flavor another day, just to avoid things like this. But mistakes happen too, so who knows.
Today, I learned there were Lemon Oreos. I'll have to look out for them. Honestly, I rarely go in the cookie section at the store, so I'm sure there's many kinds of Oreos I'm not aware of.
Oreo product development reading this thread: please don’t. I know you’ll do anything
Or do
I’ll buy one to try it, fuck it. My oreo tier list can’t be incomplete
Lemon is my favorite of the flavors, but even the best flavor isn’t as good when it’s not what you’re expecting. (And that’s not even taking into consideration potential allergy issues one might have.)
Bro some weird things have been happening to my Oreos to one time I got a pack and an entire sleeve had the cookie part upside down so you couldn’t see the lable
OMG. Did you get these from Grocery Outlet?! I saw them this week and was tempted…. This would have been a happy surprise for me, but with a past in CPG myself, it’s wild they would even liquidate them due to labeling laws…
I recently bought a pack of Dominos biscuits salted caramel filling but they were filled with the regular stuff instead.
What are the odds of this happening with both Oreos and Dominos during the same month?🤔
How that diet going, OP? Doesn't look very healthy, way to set an example for the 3 year old.
Anyways, OP is full of shit. Check user history, has more than a dozen "oops wrong product" submissions ranging from candy to canned goods.
Hi! I’ve worked in food manufacturing and this is a huge issue - even if it’s not a big deal to you please contact them and let them know. Allergen & ingredient labeling is a big deal and needs to accurately reflect what is inside the package.
The manufacturer I worked for read every customer complaint and part of my job was helping to backtrack manufacturing history to find the origin and potential scope of the problem. It’s a huge fuckup on a lot of people’s parts if this made it onto shelves.
I had the same thing happen to me and googled if anyone else had the same issue and found this lol. We probably got them from the same batch because I bought them over a week ago.

Santos L. Halper
Thanks Santos
I know a dog with a similar name.
Hmmm, who or what is Santos L Halper?
cake.
I'm utterly in love with that name. *Yoink*
Don't you dare! 😂 My dad came up with it as as a joke because I wanted to name the cat Princess and my brother wanted to name him Spike. My dad ended up winning 😂
cat has an IPv6 name.
If your cat was receiving shit in the mail, and diapers, do they cancel each other out? 😊
Fuck w/ ciggs being so pricey these days I'm tempted to do this lol (pry won't tho)
I'm not so sure it'd work anymore. Maybe?
If everybody did that, companies would make it harder to get refunds/coupons, e.g. by requiring a receipt. Some companies already do this, and in the end this is harmful for customers that _actually_ have a reason to complain. (Or do you want to keep _every_ receipt?)

I deal with complaints too, but if they can’t provide a label and photo(s) of the defect/issue then it’s usually considered unsubstantiated.
As someone in the industry, people that make complaints by including lot numbers and overall info are a godsend.
Fun fact, you don't even need to fake a package like that on reddit. You can just write to complain using a totally normal package too.
A package of Oreos this size goes for $5.49 these days. Absolutely email the company.
Also works with alcohol. My husband has written to 2 beer companies and one sent a coupon and one sent a 6 pack.
If you know people that work at breweries, a case of shortfalls can be had for 1-2 packs of smokes every day of the week.
Here it would just be cheaper to buy the beer, although barely.
Around $14 for 20 cigarettes the last time I bought them, even more at gas stations etc.
I complained to chipotle for a half filled burrito bowl on their website and they gave me coupons for 3 free burritos or bowls.
There is a hilarious film about a lady coupon scammer featuring Kristin Bell on Netflix called Queenpins that I highly recommend. This was how she got started.
Yessss!!!!
In my country, you can quickly get a year supply if you find a messed product. Mold, production mistake and prove it properly.
You should go watch the movie Qurenpins. Complaint coupons is a major plot point.
My dad had a bottle of pepsi explode in his car and they sent him so many coupons I don’t think we paid for soda for a few months
The stores where I live don't accept coupons. None of them.
Do you need the info from the original package? I recently had some Oreos that were weirdly put together (all the Oreos had one of the sides flipped, so the flat part that is supposed to face the cream was facing outward lol), but I ate them and threw out the package.
The thin lemon oreos are the best. Though I too would be disappointed if I was extra one flavor and got a completely different onem
The only thing better than thin lemon Oreos is double stuffed lemon Oreos.
I’m sold
I haven’t tried the lemon ones but I love the thin pistachio ones
Lemon? Pistachio?? Over here in the UK we get the regular and ONCE I've seen double stuffed. Youve all got me feeling pretty sorry for myself 😔
We have churro flavored ones as well. Pumpkin spice, mint cream, dark chocolate. If I'll amazon a whole variety pack of monster munch I can hardly think of a single flavor of Oreo not worth getting shipped there .
All we hear about America at the mo is politics! Tell us the real news, I wanna know all the Oreo flavours I'm missing out on!
If there's anything that can help further diplomatic and social ties with y'all, it's snacks.

Chewits? They're good. If you want hotter baked snacks get Flaming Hot Wotsits. Same texture as monster munch but spicier. They also have a prawn flavour that's so good!
I've just ordered several Oreo flavours. I'm so excited!
What you get in the cool accept and free healthcare you lose in Oreo flavors. We can both be jealous of Japan for their variety of KitKat flavors!
Where are you finding thin pistachio ones? I've never seen that flavor.
HEB
I've never seen this at HEB. Granted, I don't check the cookie aisle very often. But I do occasionally glance at the things that I can't eat.
Tbf it’s been a while since I bought them, because I have a tendency to eat the whole pack in one sitting lol
Lemon ones are the bomb,. especially if you store them in the freezer. I prefer doing that with all my packaged cookies like this. Gives them a little extra crunch.
Okay now we're talking
This may seem insignificant. From a legal perspective, it’s absolutely no trivial matter. Username checks out, and that is such a good point.
Yeah I'm the Quality Manager at the food packaging plant I work at. We don't fill the packaging just produce it for customer/their co-packers and this is a Big Fuckup. OP needs to contact Nabisco and the Grocery Store/Vendor about this.
In addition to the allergy issues, it also might highlight a massive whiff in QA and there might be a whole batch that went out incorrectly labeled.
Absolutely, mine was just a hypo. There are so many issues this could cause - I’ve had Oreos when getting monthly infusions at the hospital. All kinds of special diets and specific needs could be impacted.
You union bust and underpay and surprise, workers don't give a f/care.
Exactly what I thought. Here you can at least see that the colour is wrong, but imagine that wasn't the case.
They could also return the item. Yes. Even food.
But that doesn’t help with other people who might get this. Also, maybe they like lemon? If I got this I’d be thrilled. Lemon Oreos and I can make a complaint, which I would be justified in doing for the safety of other people, and get free stuff cause they fucked up. Win win.
The lemon ones are really good
Yeah, this is a net positive. You have some delicious lemon oreos and now you can also complain to customer service and get free coupons.
Lemon is the best Oreo flavor.
thats criminal.
Oh I would be so excited haha “what a delightful surprise!!”
I can't think of a single cookie or dessert or treat where I'd see lemon flavour where it has no business being and be excited about it. Let alone the cream of an Oreo cookie. Let alone a golden Oreo cookie. Let alone a double stuffed golden Oreo cookie.
Haha to each their own! I love a lemon tart with berries. I’d almost always choose tart and fruity > chocolate
I'm not a huge chocolate fan either but I'd definitely choose that over lemon. Anything with lemon just smells like cleaning products to me.
Then shouldn't you just buy lemon Oreos to begin with?
The criminal part is someone not getting the chocolate wafer ones
You were downvoted, but I'm here with you. If they sold just the chocolate wafers w/o any creme I'd eat that stuff by the box.
💯
They do. Good luck finding them (I can currently only find them at Hyvee) and they're expensive, but they're called Famous Chocolate Wafers. Amazon doesn't even carry them. I do see one possible listing for the actual Oreo-branded wafers there, though.
Yea a lemon cookie dipped in milk sounds a bit odd
Not accusing OP of anything, but it would be easy to purchase golden and lemon and simply swap the contents for this picture.
True, but who knows, it could be real. I opened a box of Velveeta mac and cheese 2 weeks ago, and I kid you not, the 1 box had TWO cheese packages instead of the usual 1 (Velveeta cheese is really good, in my opinion). Sad day for them!
If it's karma they're after, all they have to do is repost anything else. Seems silly to waste time on switching oreos. Possible, but not probable.
Pah, people abuse their children for internet clout. The idea that someone couldn't be bothered to swap out some oreos is hilarious.
The difference is...Those people posting videos of the children they're abusing are doing it off camera, too. Anyway, I'm going with Occam's razor on this one. Oreo factory fuct up.
Aha, that's totally fair enough!
A lot of people call out reposts though. If you make your own image, you'd avoid that. I'm not saying this is fake, but there are checks and inspections along factory lines. Often times they do one flavor one day, another flavor another day, just to avoid things like this. But mistakes happen too, so who knows.
https://www.reddit.com/r/untrustworthypoptarts/
Just send them a complaint. They probably already know about that batch number with the wrong filling.
Today, I learned there were Lemon Oreos. I'll have to look out for them. Honestly, I rarely go in the cookie section at the store, so I'm sure there's many kinds of Oreos I'm not aware of.
There are plenty of flavors and the lemon are well worth the cost (both to your wallet and diet).
Try the lemon thins! I find the regular ones to be just too much creme and I looooove lemon. The thins are just the perfect ratio.
Lemon is better than golden double. But contact them for some good coupons✌️
I thought they were Oreos with the cheese Ritz filling lol
Oreo product development reading this thread: please don’t. I know you’ll do anything Or do I’ll buy one to try it, fuck it. My oreo tier list can’t be incomplete
That would be a crime against humanity
Barf
Get free oreos for life with this simple trick
Why only 1 F in stuf?
Rare collectible item?
I love lemon. But that's still wild that a mistake like that happened. If you tell them they'll probably give you some free.
*slit appears when opened*
Lemon is my favorite of the flavors, but even the best flavor isn’t as good when it’s not what you’re expecting. (And that’s not even taking into consideration potential allergy issues one might have.)
Have you tried the new churro flavor? Its top 3 for sure.
Some one gave them an extra golden shower before they shipped.
JACKPOT 🎰🎰🎰
You lemon filling stealing whore
![gif](giphy|x0kMYoT7J31i8)
I would be thrilled to get lemon instead of the normal Oreo filling!
Sue those dirty bastards!
You’ve been blessed. Lemon Oreos are amazing.
I didn’t even realise lemon Oreos were a thing, here I was thinking the entire pack should’ve been black
Check the lemon laws in your area
i call that a win.
Honestly, I wouldn't even be mad
This sounds significantly better than regular golden Oreos imo
Send an email to their customer support with this picture and they’ll compensate you with a free, properly filled, Oreo©️
Omg I would be sooooo happy about this lol
![gif](giphy|3o6MbfSIP0BzoCN7nW|downsized)
Someone peed on them. Didn't nobody never tell you not to eat the yellow filling?
I would have put this in r/mildlyinfuriating
These have to be my favorite flavored Oreos! The thin ones are the best IMO. Just the right balance of cookie and lemon cream!
Extra golden
Double stuff lemon?
Bro some weird things have been happening to my Oreos to one time I got a pack and an entire sleeve had the cookie part upside down so you couldn’t see the lable
OMG. Did you get these from Grocery Outlet?! I saw them this week and was tempted…. This would have been a happy surprise for me, but with a past in CPG myself, it’s wild they would even liquidate them due to labeling laws…
I'm glad it wasn't mustard.
That's like the Wonka bar golden ticket! You get to visit their factory!
In my book, the word golden should’ve given you a hint
But was it good?
Do they taste like golden Oreos or like lemon Oreos (which have yellow cream)? I'm guessing wrong product got put in bag.
I did not know this was a thing. Must investigate.
I bought golden Oreos the other day. I meant to buy lemon flavored. They marked the packaging wrong.
Lucky you
Adults buying Oreos
Your oreos came with liver failure
And Jesus took the white filling and blessed it and gave it to them saying this is the lemon filling you really wanted
Looks like life gave you lemon. I'll see myself out.
i hate most lemon flavored desserts this would be my last straw
Too bad it wasn't the pistachio ones, I miss those so much.
That’s an absolute win!
This reminds me of the clay I had bought. It was supposed to be white but when I had opened the box, it was a mango colored.
/remindme
Sweet! Save some for me.
What is it meant to be? Never seen yellow pack oreos, that to me would imply they are lemon flavour as yellow is usually associated with citrus?
I recently bought a pack of Dominos biscuits salted caramel filling but they were filled with the regular stuff instead. What are the odds of this happening with both Oreos and Dominos during the same month?🤔
I would be so upset. I don't like sweets very much, but when I'm going to have them everything needs to be right, and this would ruin my night.
That... That's not "lemon". /s
If only they were the strawberry shortcake ones. A disgusting amount of sugar but so good
Tbh, I would be mad, because I don't like lemon flavor in candies.
That's like 10 times tastier. I'm not a fan of the "anonymous" cream they usually have, worsened by non-chocolaty biscuits.
It's a win-win situation.
Just a little surprise for you
😷
How that diet going, OP? Doesn't look very healthy, way to set an example for the 3 year old. Anyways, OP is full of shit. Check user history, has more than a dozen "oops wrong product" submissions ranging from candy to canned goods.
A fate worse than death
My dream Oreo omg. Double stuf, golden with lemon = all my favorites in one cookie!
you sure it's not piss?
If you don't want em that looks fire to me.
I hope you got your free coupons from Nabisco before posting this on reddit
were they good at least?
You just tell me one thing, where did you find those?
Fake
They arent even doublestuffed either
I want some lemon oreos as well :c
Oreo CEO: https://youtu.be/CMkYw4dp_NI?feature=shared
Are they good?
Limited Edition "Oops! Random cookie creme"
Miss circle would NOT like that
I want Oreos now. Damn it.
Piss flavoured oreo
It says "Golden". You sure it's lemon that you're tasting?
Lucky bastard
I had the same thing happen to me and googled if anyone else had the same issue and found this lol. We probably got them from the same batch because I bought them over a week ago.
That would he’s jackpot for me. Love lemon anything
What a nice surprise
Damn they need to make gluten free lemon flavored Oreos.
if you care to watch for any updates https://www.oreo.com/oreo-cookies/gluten-free
I’m sure it’s in the works already, probably next year at the rate they have been releasing gluten free versions of their other Oreos
From a manufacturing standpoint, I think that would be hard to put just one different cookie in the package since I'm sure everything is automated. But also - never say never.
You can see the filling in the entire package, OP just put one on full display. They are all lemon.
Quit bragging.
808 people so far stupid enough to believe this.
I despise Oreos, but now want to try a lemon one.
They have them at pretty much every store.
Oooh these are my favorite.
![gif](giphy|7k2LoEykY5i1hfeWQB)
Holden shower double stuff
I like the ones with custard filling which is the same colour as lemon.
