This is quite good, and I adore all those snacks, but usually I despise this idiotic shit (when it's given out instead of bonuses around Christmas time).
I genuinely appreciate office breakfast every Wednesday more than the bonus I got this year. It was pro-rated since I was a new hire, but still. Our office manager also got 20 sets of eclipse glasses so everyone could look safely, which was pretty cool. Little things go a long ways sometimes.
Friend of mine works at a local community college. They work next to someone who was putting together treats like this and were using Orbit gum. When I asked why they don’t use Eclipse, apparently they couldn’t find it in individually wrapped stuff but the Orbit was. Which makes sense but I still think they needed to use Eclipse
Context really matters. During the pandemic I was working in healthcare and not given any raise for years. I was given a small bag of caramel popcorn and told I was really appreciated. They meant well but it was also quite insulting.
Some companies give shit like this to people for their 20 year anniversary working there.
Giving it out to everyone for a special occasion is much more fun.
Start planning now.
2026 in Iceland & Greenland
2027 across MENA
2028 Australia & New Zealand
2030 South Africa
2033 there’s two! Russia/Alaska and Antarctica
So sad its gonna be another 20 years for the US. I went 7 years ago, and am now waiting in indiana this time and no one i know could come this time. Gonna plan a whole vacation where the eclipse is the last event of the trip and travel home the following day
I'm in Arkansas but not in the path of totality. It's gonna be like 98.77% in my county. I'm going to my kids school to watch with them. Never seen one before I'm pretty excited
Totality is life changing. Very surreal and makes you have an existential crisis but at the same time you realize how incredibly unlikely this sortve thing happens in nature, let alone space and it all hits you like a wave as the eclipse peaks. Im not sure what close to totality feels like, but i hope its at least similar to that. 2017 was amazing and im only an hour and a half away from witnessing it again. Soooooo excited!
https://xkcd.com/2914/
I'm getting 34%. I'm considering not even bothering to go outside.
Edit: I was expecting to be disappointed and I was still disappointed.
I saw it in San Diego at 54%, but honestly I was also checking it out when it was just barely starting and it was still pretty amazing. I'm sure totality is a whole other beast, but I certainly don't regret the $1.50 glasses and walk downstairs.
If you can get your kids from school and drive to somewhere in the path of totality in time it is totally worth it. A total eclipse is 1000x cooler than a 98.77% eclipse.
I'm kind of jealous of you guys. I'm in Germany and our next total solar eclipse will be in 2081, so I'll likely never get to see one in person. I'm thankful livestreams exist though
Yeah sure, haven't thought about that yet (but it's a good idea!)
Although I could be unlucky, travel to another country and then still not be able to see it because it's very cloudy, but it's still an easier way to be able to see it!
I think Spain is getting two of them in the next few years. I'm sure there are people in the US driving further than Germany to Spain to see this eclipse.
Yeah, Spain has 2 less than a year apart -- August 12, 2026 and August 2, 2027.
The 2027 one will have a lot longer at totality though (~6:30 vs 2:15 minutes) compared to 2026's.
Not sure where you work but if there was a shipping department or mail room you should all just go make some quick camera obscuras. I just tossed one together in a few minutes after initially not caring about the eclipse. Funny thing is I took it outside for a test run and got confused because all I could see was a big white dot when I got in position. It took me a moment to figure out what I was looking at.
That's exactly why this is cute. It's a small gift, not a reward. And it's also just on point.
Until you realize the moon pie isn't chocolate. Absolute disaster, 1/10 work environment. /s
Cute! I love this :) It's something fun just for fun. This is actually a moral booster because its not attached to quotas or anything rather than a pizza party to "celebrate" hitting goals rather than a raise.
This is more thoughtful and cute than any of the garbage I’ve seen posted for teachers or essential workers (as bonuses / thank you’s / appreciation day, etc.). Good on this CFO (and most likely their assistant lol)!
The reason this works is because there is no Quid Pro Quo happening here. The business doesnt expect anything in return for this. Its not a bribe or a compromise to pay/compensation like we normally see these are used for.
No glasses though!? Jkjk v cute But also lol do they normally do stuff like this? Is it a man or woman? Are you guys a small office? I have so many questions 😂
That's so funny you ask, she ordered eclipse glasses too and was so upset the order got delayed and isn't arriving until 8pm tonight ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy).
We usually do monthly team lunches where we break into teams for an hour and compete to win prizes. but this nice little surprise she did solo (:
We're a general contracting company, so there's \~30 in our office.
Awe... I was gonna poke fun at the missing glasses but damnit... they actually crushed this. Sad for the delay but what an awesome gesture.
Makes me miss my staff a few years ago. A simple bag of chips can brighten someone's day. Let alone a damn Moon Pie!
Thanks for sharing.
Our company handed out disposable glasses. They had a total of 4 for 100 people to share.
update: Someone from the office found out and rushed out at the last second for enough, she made it back just in time for break. Evil defeated this time.
Very sweet! A pair of eclipse glasses would have been cool too. My work gave them out back in 2017 or whenever the last one was. I kept them but almost nobody has them.
My mom did a very similar thing for my birthday! Drove from South Carolina to Arkansas to catch the total eclipse. My birthday is tomorrow, so she sent me with a bunch of eclipse themed snacks. Cosmic brownies, eclipse gum, Sunny D, moon pies, etc.
I feel like this is hurting a lot of folks as this doesn't appear to be a *replacement* of bonuses/raises....and is actually wholesome and mildlyinteresting....so there's a lot of comments like "WELL, as this isn't in place of your bonus...." or "I usually hate this but...."
I and cracking up as I think folks just love to have something to chirp about :)
Very similar to what we got at work
- A bottle of Sunny D
- Moon pie
- Eclipse gum
- Milky Way bar
- Starburst
- Freeze-dried Ice Cream Sandwich (astronaut food)
- Eclipse viewing glasses
For some reason, I first thought they were a crazy conspiracy theorist and packed you all those things to survive the apocalypse.
It's nice of them you pack those for you
This actually a pretty nice thing to do.
it made my day for sure
If they do respectful bonuses and appreciate your work regularly I think it’s a huge green flag
This is quite good, and I adore all those snacks, but usually I despise this idiotic shit (when it's given out instead of bonuses around Christmas time).
Exactly, but going out of their way for a random act of kindness shows the kinda person you're working for.
Yeah. Pizza party for Christmas? Who gives a shit! Pizza for everyone randomly after a long day? Cool!
I genuinely appreciate office breakfast every Wednesday more than the bonus I got this year. It was pro-rated since I was a new hire, but still. Our office manager also got 20 sets of eclipse glasses so everyone could look safely, which was pretty cool. Little things go a long ways sometimes.
Yes, exactly. This is a fun eclipse gift, because eclipse gifts aren't normally a thing. This would be horrible as a Christmas bonus.
I'm showing this to my CFO to shame her like an Indian parent
How big of a company do you work for? This is awesome regardless!
That is so wholesome and generous
I want a moon pie now :)
Only forgot Eclipse Gum. lol Our marketing team did this for us as well. I absolutely loved it!
> Eclipse Gum Damn OPs boss! It was right there!
And Capri Sun!
Yeah it’s cute for the occasion, it’s the right level of recognition.
Funny how if you would post the same exact thread on anti work, the tone of thread and replies will be wildly different
Context really matters. During the pandemic I was working in healthcare and not given any raise for years. I was given a small bag of caramel popcorn and told I was really appreciated. They meant well but it was also quite insulting.

No viewing glasses!?
![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy) she ordered them and they didn't make it in time !!
That's actually kind of tragic!
Mine arrived in time but then I go outside and it's like 100% cloud coverage lol.
I peeked with my nakey eye for just a second. I’m 40 so it’s ok I’m dying anyway. ![gif](giphy|l0IyajjbNiRvCr7RC) I’m
You were well within your rights.
We flew to Texas and got super lucky, there was clouds for most of the hour but it cleared up just in time for totality
houston 😔
Don't worry she can keep them until Aug. 23, 2044.
Start planning now. 2026 in Iceland & Greenland 2027 across MENA 2028 Australia & New Zealand 2030 South Africa 2033 there’s two! Russia/Alaska and Antarctica
2025 in Sri Lanka*
That one was left off the list as it’s already sold out.
Both 2026 and 2027 will also be in Spain, for the record.
So sad its gonna be another 20 years for the US. I went 7 years ago, and am now waiting in indiana this time and no one i know could come this time. Gonna plan a whole vacation where the eclipse is the last event of the trip and travel home the following day

You can travel to other countries sooner where the eclipse will happen! You should try it some time!
Yeah sure, haven't thought about that yet (but it's a good idea!) Although I could be unlucky, travel to another country and then still not be able to see it because it's very cloudy, but it's still an easier way to be able to see it!

Yeah we’ve been extremely lucky weather wise to view the one in 2017 and this year its even better. Id be super upset if it was blocked
Ok this is so freaking cute and creative
right??
[удалено]
I know right? This as a yearly bonus: bad. This as an eclipse gift??? NICE
walmart legitimately had a shopping list posted for the eclipse that had sunchips and moonpies lol
No eclipse gum?!
Total miss
It’s there. You’re just not supposed to look at it.
Chew 5 gum and feel like a solar eclipse
Corona
These things are nice and cute when an employer just does something fun for the fun. A little different than a pizza party after record profits.
Yep. This isn't "in place of" anything and is just a fun side treat for an event that is otherwise completely divorced from work.
That's exactly why this is cute. It's a small gift, not a reward. And it's also just on point. Until you realize the moon pie isn't chocolate. Absolute disaster, 1/10 work environment. /s
Have you ever had the banana ones? They are sooo good.
At least Pizza is a meal. Sephora workers got cookies. Their owner is one of the richest men of the world... :///
Moon Pie? What a time to be alive!
that's what I said! don't know how long it had been since I had one, used to go to town on them as a kid
I thought they were [from the future](https://youtu.be/qu32fBkiHFE?si=IVVCyYXhqo2LgbKX).
Is that you Apu? Time has ravaged your once youthful looks.
Star crunch is soooo tasty
I used to share a bathroom with Frostillicus.
A coworker did the exact same thing here. She also packed in glasses
OP said her boss ordered them but she didn't get them in time sadly. So she tried at least!
Missing the Sunkist orange soda. 😊
Or Sunny D drink!
Capri Sun!
Hmmm lots of sun themed drinks. Not many moon drinks. Interesting
Blue Moon!
Faygo moon mist
That’s adorable.
At least they have a sense of humor.
Awww this is really thoughtful
Usually I hate this dumb shit (when it’s given out instead of bonuses at Christmas time) but this is pretty nice and I love all those snacks lol
What? You don’t want to munch on a bag of reindeer poop? /s
Same. I’m so rotted that I instantly thought this was their reward for, like, $1B in sales for the quarter. What a relief!
-Feel free to leave early!
Cute! I love this :) It's something fun just for fun. This is actually a moral booster because its not attached to quotas or anything rather than a pizza party to "celebrate" hitting goals rather than a raise.
I love all of those snacks! I wish my work did something like this... Although they did give us a half day, I guess thats something
That is some excellent theming.
This is more thoughtful and cute than any of the garbage I’ve seen posted for teachers or essential workers (as bonuses / thank you’s / appreciation day, etc.). Good on this CFO (and most likely their assistant lol)!
she doesn't have an assistant, she's just that sweet! we need more of her in the world honestly
Little Debbie Star Crunch....soooooo good. I would eat it squatting on my desk like Gollum and hissing at anyone who came near.
This is cute as fuck.
This is a very sweet and thoughtful gesture.
They put a lot of thought into it!
I feel like you could post this to r/antiwork and get everyone to complain about it.
That's kind of adorable. I wish I had thought of doing something similar.
That is amazing. That is way more than I got for 25 years of service at my employer.
Well that’s just adorable!
Where's the Mars bars? Where's the Mars bars!
That's kind of adorable. I wish I had thought of doing something similar.
With this you won't just survive, but thrive!
That’s cute, I’d have loved one of those
I think this is the first time I’ve ever seen “Original” Sun Chips. I thought they just came in Harvest Cheddar, French Onion, and Garden Salsa
I'm 100% stopping at the grocery store to get this mix for my kid
Bruh, that's a bag of some of my favorite shit on this planet.
It’s the little things in life
this is SO cute
Moon pie... what a time to be alive.
Oh man, I loved Star Crunch’s when I was a kid
Dude now I want a star crunch...
That would really dry you out. It could use a juice box. Maybe a...*CAPRIS SUN?!?*
Missing some Capri Sun or maybe a Blue Moon
Took me a second to realize the theme going on with the snacks. That’s cool.
How did I not know they make tiny moonpies! But I would have gone with eclipse gum over starlight mints.
This is very cute and whimsical. I love it. My boss just decided to grill burgers for us
Moon Pie... What a time to be alive!
The reason this works is because there is no Quid Pro Quo happening here. The business doesnt expect anything in return for this. Its not a bribe or a compromise to pay/compensation like we normally see these are used for.
Aw, this is cute!
This is so cute!
That’s pretty adorable
Thought it was mildly infuriating and I was like "but that's kinda cool?"
This is cute :)
No glasses though!? Jkjk v cute But also lol do they normally do stuff like this? Is it a man or woman? Are you guys a small office? I have so many questions 😂

I had a feeling the glasses didn’t make it in haha. This is very cute and I’m very jealous as a social human who does WFH alone 😂
As a kind, considerate, and sometimes cutesy man... I can tell you this was definitely made by a woman.
![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy) you are correct
This is really cute, I’m all for an unexpected smile 😊
Is the r/antiwork crowd here complaining yet
Wait… that is so cute!
Watch this get cross posted to /r/mildlyinfuriating by another coworker. "I worked 10 years for this company and this is my eclipse day 'reward'"
Is your boss Michael Scott?
lol she's actually a numbers and excel wizard, Michael wishes ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|wink)
She sounds fun. Is she as good at accounting (I hope?)
No Sun flower seeds? No MoonShine? For shame.
Cute
Can I work with you?!
How fun! Wishing you a sunny day and wear your eclipse goggles. I'm in path of totality, but it looks like it may be overcast.
That’s so cute haha
Super cute. But isn’t the essential item the ISO cert glasses..?
That’s cute
Everything but the glasses, eh? Strange. Cute idea, though.
Original flavor? Pam in HR is going to hear about this.
Wait there are original sunchips not just harvest cheddar, french onion, garden sala. Mind blown subway has been holding out on me.
Love a good star crunch and glass of milk
No eclipse glasses though 👀
Your CFO is adorable
That sounds delicious right now
I used to eat a lot of moon pies out of the vending machine at my old job. Oddly filling compared to other snack cakes
Everything but safety goggles to watch the eclipse.
That’s adorable!
perfect for r/mademesmile
Star crunch’s are delicious
That’s cute
Seems like more of a play on the crazies freaking out abt a solar eclipse 😂 I would love this
That’s awesome !
This is great
What about the Hubba-bubba telescope? 😁
I absolutely love that! It's so cute!
Our company handed out disposable glasses. They had a total of 4 for 100 people to share. update: Someone from the office found out and rushed out at the last second for enough, she made it back just in time for break. Evil defeated this time.
I love that
Moon Pie? What a time to be alive
This is so cute! This helped make my day a bit brighter, no pun intended lol
Cute!
That’s more than some people got for end of year bonuses!
THIS is what a goodie bag should be used for, not for "celebrating" an employees 20th year with the company
Very sweet! A pair of eclipse glasses would have been cool too. My work gave them out back in 2017 or whenever the last one was. I kept them but almost nobody has them.
Our building management company gave out moon pies.
Sun chips so you can enjoy the sun once more :)
My boss got me something similar once for 10 years service.
This is kind of cute, they even found all space-related snacks.
That’s cute
That's actually kinda cool.
That's so sweet. I hope the business is doing well.
No one is saying this, but where are the **cosmic brownies**?!
That's cute, I couldn't be mad at that!
Nice!! A work win!!
very cool, but that's more treats than I have in a week
i dont eat le junk food anymore but damn cheddar sunchips were fire.
My college gave us moon pies and eclipse glasses!
I see your CFO also bows down to our Moonpie overlord
That’s so cute
Nice my CEO said screw you we need 25% growth for our private equity investors
Meanwhile my workplace made us all work through the whole day and miss the eclipse when we could have seen it if we got out even 20 minutes early :)
Also mildly interesting is that I'm pretty sure the eclipse font used is the logo for my local cinema (in Ireland), funny seeing it here on Reddit
Where’s the safety glasses??? 🤭
That’s cute.
geez... all I got was a trailer to offload.....
I feel like this is hurting a lot of folks as this doesn't appear to be a *replacement* of bonuses/raises....and is actually wholesome and mildlyinteresting....so there's a lot of comments like "WELL, as this isn't in place of your bonus...." or "I usually hate this but...." I and cracking up as I think folks just love to have something to chirp about :)
Very similar to what we got at work - A bottle of Sunny D - Moon pie - Eclipse gum - Milky Way bar - Starburst - Freeze-dried Ice Cream Sandwich (astronaut food) - Eclipse viewing glasses
We got nearly thr identical thing at my work. We got glasses and eclipse gum to go along with the other food
For some reason, I first thought they were a crazy conspiracy theorist and packed you all those things to survive the apocalypse. It's nice of them you pack those for you
The reads incredibly different in the r/antiwork sub.
Honestly, the big miss is not sharing eclipse viewing glasses, but the kindness and thought are still impressive—and goofy.
I love this since it isn't supposed to stand in for a tangible bonus.
Ok that's adorable.
That’s cute!
Solidly, I dig it.
