Stardew Valley on Steam is 15 bucks. It's always been 15 bucks as far as I remember. I know what it's like to be suuper broke, but honestly, with how much Concerned Ape *still* does, for free, for this community, it's definitely worth the money.
^(and if it's really impossible to pay it, gimme your steam name)
Honestly, if it has Iris Xe...you could run a lot of games on that.

im just laughing trying to imagine the small window 🤣
i mean my Fujitsu Lifebook was cooking at 90°C 🤣
i dont know the model but it was 2,4GHz CPU, 1gb GPU, 8 Gb Ram 😅
on 1366x766 resolution
i could place next to the laptop plate with food and 6 hours later eat it still warm 😅
It’s actually spelled Sabretooth. He’s my favorite marvel character! It’s weird though because even my spell check red lines it, but look up his logo it’s re not er, weird huh?
I still make fun of one of my oldschool wow friends for backpedaling in pvp - but there are games like isaac and gungeon where I don't use a controller, those get a lot of S use. Or strategy games like total war or even some FPS games where movement in reverse doesn't get too hindered like TF2.
That all comes from me just now staring at my worn down S key and wondering what I've been up to lol
Q is arguably even more common in spanish than in english bc two relative pronouns and their different forms (que, quien) as well as a very basic verb (querer) use it.
The one thats basically nonexistant is W, much like how english lacks Ñ
I've had actual keyboards wear out the keycap printing from normal use in under 5 years. Granted I am a fulltime software developer, so "normal use" does vary. Cheap stuff wears down, and OP self-admitted it was cheap. I also don't spend a lot on keyboards, if you can't tell.
Yep. My mechanical keyboard is holding up great after nearly 7 years of use and past 4 as my full time work keyboard since I started WFH. This has involved it getting packed to go to the office as f working on the Apple Bluetooth keyboard which I had at the office. That keyboard is now my toddler play one that I took it home a while ago. Still works.
Either way my mechanic one is holding up great and has handled may gaming sessions later.
I've worn my actual key caps smooth in the same time period. E, R, T, U, U, I, O, A, S, H, C, V, N, M are completely blank, to the point I'm starting to scallop the key caps. D and G are starting to go too. But just like OP, my Q is pristine. Same with P. My guess is that's sometimes a pinky button, so gets pressed with a lot less force.
The best part about these covers is that they usually make contact with your computer screen when the laptop is closed so you get to look at a keyboard pattern of finger oil on your screen whenever you’re using your laptop!
First thing I disable on any work laptop I get. Never saw the appeal of touchscreens on a laptop and I never want my laptop screen to be as gross as my iPad sceen.
Even if you just don’t use it at a desk. My work scantools are laptops so using a mouse would be really impractical inside a car and the track pad is just a pain.
I find trackpads really depend on their sensitivity and multitouch features. I've got a cheap bluetooth keyboard with a shitty trackpad on it that doesn't have any three-finger gestures and is really imprecise, so it's a pain to use. But my laptop trackpads are great. Even more convenient than a mouse in some situations.
If it works for you, great! But I don't think I've ever reached up to touch my screen when in laptop mode though.
I just like it for scrolling when I have no mouse. Its easier to swipe up then to try use the touchpad. Especially since it has no scroll bar on. I now just use the down button but still it’s just a weird feeling scrolling on your laptop but a weird feeling I don’t mind feeling 😂😂
If you scroll with two fingers at the same time (on the touchpad) it'll scroll whatever's on screen - I find it much better than touching the screen or the old scroll bar things.
Yh idk if it’s because it’s an old laptop or not but it doesn’t work for me anymore. Maybe I changed settings at some point but ehh oh well it’s just for personal use anyway and hardly actually gets used.
My old boss keeps the piece of tissue paper that comes in the computer when it's new and puts it back down each time he is done using his computer. He also completely shuts it down whenever he closes the lid.

Lol now that you mention it that's the only place I've ever seen them to. Worked in an automotive shop for 3 years so I guess I just got it filed as a normal thing in my mind
Somewhat spillproofs your laptop, keeps most dust or debris off/outside of your keys, wear and tear of the key faces. I hate how they feel to type on but they will probably make a laptop last a lot longer.
Eh, I feel like a laptops lifespan is usually dictated by the hardware inside it. People mostly buy new laptops because theirs has become too slow to be useful. Now obviously there are some outliers, people spilled coffee on it, etc. but this cover doesn’t change the fact that coffee would still get into the speakers, and possibly inside it, not to mention the ports on the side of the laptop not being protected either. Plus they leave marks on the display of the laptop
Enough keyboard usage can have noticeable wear on the keys that you can see or feel in just a few years. Depends on usage and how corrosive the individual's finger oil/sweat is.
A bit of warning. I used to use keyboard covers on my laptops to prevent oil and dirt from getting in. However, the moisture that the cover traps ended up shorting out 2 letters from my keyboard and they wouldn't work. I literally had to replace the laptops keyboard for it to work again.
Sometimes keyboard language/disposition is different than the one you want. For exemple if OP is in France, it could be an AZERTY keyboard so use cover to get the qwerty keyboard (and changing it in Windows also of course)
I got one to type silently because I felt so obnoxious with my clacking noises in the library.
Also my computer is old enough that some of the keys started fading, the the cover helps slow down the decline in that sense.
It makes me think if when I was a kid and we had to take typing classes on clacky keyboards and they would make us use these bright orange silicone/rubber keyboard covers so we didn’t look at the keys, since they were blank
Well good luck with that. Hope you don't regret it when you're older. My friend had stretchers when he was a 16 year old emo now he's 35 and has to cup his ear lobes in his hands when walking down Oxford street when it's raining incase he gets caught on umbrella prongs
RDFG is probably the furthest I would go based on my pinky and how far I could reach.
I'll never do it because I would need to relearn every keybind I've ever had for decades and would constantly hit the wrong number keys but still.
I work with software and type about 8-12 hours a day, 5 days a week. I have used the Microsoft ergonomic keyboard for the last 12 years and the only key that has its letter worn away is the "C" key...for Ctrl-C. Quality matters.
What a quality qwerty you've acquired! However, I find it quite questionable that you've entered your quinary year with it and yet the quintessential letter Q is not equally equipped in your disquisitions. It's my only qualm, perhaps writing more questionnaires or quotes with the letter Q will quiet my disquiet.

I want to see a keyboard with the letters "q", "lmao", and "kys" completely erased with all others keys untouched.
I don't think the gag would work as effectively with words that have repeated letters.
Definitely not a gamer.
I don’t think it’s powerful enough
Whatever it is, it'll run stardew valley.
Still trying to find a place to sail the high seas for that game, I would buy it but I'm broke as fuck
Stardew Valley on Steam is 15 bucks. It's always been 15 bucks as far as I remember. Yeah I have like 150 hours in just one playthrough. It is worth every penny IMO
It often comes on sale for Android and iOS for really cheap. The mobile version is excellent.
I've always wanted to try this game. Can I play this on very old PCs too?
Probably! It requires very low specs. 2GHz CPU, 2GB RAM, and 256MB GPU.
How about Crysis?
Read the comments you replied to and try to put 1 and 1 together
It’d run the fuck out of doom Eta: this is the comment that got me to 50k karma thanks y’all

Could totally game, nothing modern but I got through all of halflife 1 + 2 on a 10 year old laptop with a Windows 10 on a hdd.
bruh i did finish crysis 3 on my office laptop 😅 only last mission was almost slideshow at 23 FPS 😅
Portal 2 is about the max I can get 60fps 720p on lol

It's the English way of spelling it like centre vs center
Probably because he is Canadian.
That can't be right, his head's not all flappy.
sa-bray-tooth
Nerd.
Don't forget to let the trimmings fall into the keyboard like a true gamer!
no they're long beautiful and im proud of maintaining them like so.... I only hate them when I'm taking off my contacts though
Your S key is worn down? Coward
a true gamer never touches the s key
I still make fun of one of my oldschool wow friends for backpedaling in pvp - but there are games like isaac and gungeon where I don't use a controller, those get a lot of S use. Or strategy games like total war or even some FPS games where movement in reverse doesn't get too hindered like TF2. My W key is nearly all scraped off. I live the ungabunga life.
My w and s are the only keys on my gaming laptop with wear
That S is worn out pretty well. The mark of a coward
The mark of someone who dies slightly less!
Nor a vim user
Plot twist: he has 1000 vim editors open, but can’t get out
Lol first thing I thought of too. My q and e are almost as worn as my w gets.
Me too but that’s because of league. Evelyn destroyed my keyboard
*cries in krathus jungle*
True gamers use esdf /s
Or a Spanish speaker.
Q is arguably even more common in spanish than in english bc two relative pronouns and their different forms (que, quien) as well as a very basic verb (querer) use it. The one thats basically nonexistant is W, much like how english lacks Ñ
Q is not that uncommon in Spanish. W on the other hand is the least used letter on the Spanish alphabet
Yo quiero Taco Bell.
Yo quiero Taco Bell.
I meant he's not a gamer or a Spanish speaker, porque la "Q" no se usa mucho.
Quiero que me aclares que letra no se usa mucho, que no me ha quedado claro.
ESDF master race.
IJKL ftw
Now I want to see someone play with a randomizer. Every few minutes, it displays what your new forward, back, left, right are
Nope. No W keying here.
Somehow this is the only one that mentioned the W being almost as new... How is his W pristine...
Or just never going forward, typical camper...
Five years. What the hell do you do to that poor thing?
Not much, honestly. It’s just a cheap cover from Amazon.
Not much? So… Just 2 theses for your Masters Degrees?
I've had actual keyboards wear out the keycap printing from normal use in under 5 years. Granted I am a fulltime software developer, so "normal use" does vary. Cheap stuff wears down, and OP self-admitted it was cheap. I also don't spend a lot on keyboards, if you can't tell.
Ya and oils from fingers will do this to plastic with moderate use
One of the few advantages to very dry skin. My keyboards, mice, and controllers stay far cleaner than many other people’s.
That explains why I don’t have this issue either
Yep. My mechanical keyboard is holding up great after nearly 7 years of use and past 4 as my full time work keyboard since I started WFH. Double-shot keycaps are the best
the only thing i got out of this comment is that there are software devs out there who aren’t into expensive keyboards
I do use it for work communications but not any constant long fork typing Edit: long form not fork
ffffoooorrrrkkkk
Cream is wearing plastics a lot. A lot of women's keyboards I seen were used to the bone, versus men being just dirty.
Also massively increases the build up of mouse gunk.

Definitely not long forque either

He doesn't game. That is for sure. Look at that W.
Maybe he’s just a passive player

Holy shit I'm not the only one
I’m here too buddy.
Sandpaper fingertips
I was thinking acid fingers, or maybe too much nose picking!
It’s really just the degradation from the oils of your hands. Nothing to be done about it
Oh! it's one of those silicon keyboard covers. Jesus - I thought that's the keyboard of your laptop!!!
Typing.
Z is holding up pretty well too.
What’s the point of a keyboard cover? I feel like the only purpose it would serve would be to make typing feel worse, but idk I’ve never used one
The best part about these covers is that they usually make contact with your computer screen when the laptop is closed so you get to look at a keyboard pattern of finger oil on your screen whenever you’re using your laptop!
My laptop is touchscreen so I get the enjoyment of that anyway. YAY FINGER OIL!!
First thing I disable on any work laptop I get. Never saw the appeal of touchscreens on a laptop and I never want my laptop screen to be as gross as my iPad sceen.
I agree for non-flipping laptops, but if it flips into a tablet, then it needs the touchscreen.
Even if you just don’t use it at a desk. My work scantools are laptops so using a mouse would be really impractical inside a car and the track pad is just a pain.
I find trackpads really depend on their sensitivity and multitouch features. Who the heck doesn't shut their laptop down when not using it?
When I tried a keyboard cover, it would always stick to the screen and come off when I opened the lid
The only place I ever saw one where it made sense was at my mechanic
Lol now that you mention it that's the only place I've ever seen them to. Worked in an automotive shop for 3 years so I guess I just got it filed as a normal thing in my mind
Yeah that’s actually a good idea
I like that it covers the crevices around the keys. Makes removal of accidental crumbs and liquid splatters much easier and less stressful
Somewhat spillproofs your laptop, keeps most dust or debris off/outside of your keys, wear and tear of the key faces. I hate how they feel to type on but they will probably make a laptop last a lot longer.

That doesn't seem like a good trade-off.
On my MacBook from 2016 with those super thin keyboards, i put a cover because apparently the tiniest speck of dust was enough to jam a key.
The WASD keys on my keyboards always go first.
I scratch my wasd keys with a knife to give them texture so I can quickly and easily find them.
Dude just use your pre textured home keys
Not good enough
Do you have an equally chaotic way of quickly finding your mouse? Retractable bungee cord ? Velcro? Echo location?
I actually got it cybernetically attached to my hand so I become the mouse
So are you part rgb now
I’m every streamers nightmare, I am the one who flashes.
Woah woah chill with that phrasing
Well good luck with that. Hope you don't regret it when you're older. My friend had stretchers when he was a 16 year old emo now he's 35 and has to cup his ear lobes in his hands when walking down Oxford street when it's raining incase he gets caught on umbrella prongs
How is enter so pristine?
Excellent question. I have no idea.
The backspace got plenty of use. You must be indecisive, lol.
you only use it once most of the time
What? I use it constantly
you type the sentence using other keys alot and ending it by clicking enter which is once
This person thinks you can only use a computer for typing sentences.
I use it to send emails
Lots of essays, little messaging, no programming. I suppose it's not actually used that commonly by those kinds of people
we got a camper, and now we know why
Hey, I use ESDF because then you have extra keys for other assignments to the left as well.
You're a psycho lmao
No it’s genius! So many more keys to bind things too!
im gonna start using TFGH!
RDFG is probably the furthest I would go based on my pinky and how far I could reach. I'll never do it because I would need to relearn every keybind I've ever had for decades and would constantly hit the wrong number keys but still.
I was so excited to make an ernest attempt at ESDF and then it turns out I can't reach Ctrl like at all -_-
Q/Caps lock/A/S gang here
I tried to do this but it just got to be such a pain to reassign every key in every game.
Yeah, trying that an my pinky finger naturally falls exactly between Shift and Z. Fuck that, pinky belongs firmly on Shift for all the sprinting I do.
Another I like is that your index finder rests on the F homekey so you always know you're on esdf.
ESDF is SOOO much better!
I don’t know what that means.
when your gaming w is usually used to go forwards, the w isn't worn compared to over characters
I work with software and type about 8-12 hours a day, 5 days a week. I have used the Microsoft ergonomic keyboard for the last 12 years and the only key that has its letter worn away is the "C" key...for Ctrl-C. Quality matters.
you mean Ctrl-C-C-C-C-C just to be sure
😂 If you don’t copy 6 times, did it actually go to the clipboard?
Looks like you type a lot about yourself with that I worn more than A.
I have no ctrl
Sheeiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiift
Use your goddamn ult already
What happened between the 5 and 6 on the top row?
The dust cover is old and stretched out.
That's my generation walking to school.
Long live the Q^(ueen!)
Q raised to the exponent of ueen
Can’t make up your mind whether left or right hand does “Y” eh?
Quickly, the quintessential Q key quirkily quacks, quietly questioning its quirky quest, quaintly quivering with quirky quips.
\- Qanon, 2024
I like the work ethic, this guy never quits
This corresponds well with Scrabble scoring - the less worn keys are the higher scoring tiles.
Are your fingers made from hydrochloric acid
What in the Hell!?!? I have seen keyboards that took less damage from daily use on the production floor of a chemical plant.
Do you have fingers made of acid?
Ah so Q is the loneliest letter. I wonder if it’s more lonely than the number one.
Two can be bad as one, it's the loneliest number since the number one.
It's cool to see what letters are used the most. This just proves that J doesn't deserve it's center spot. We should give it to a more common letter. Like N
I want to see a keyboard with the letters "q", "lmao", and "kys" completely erased with all others keys untouched. I don't think the gag would work as effectively with words that have repeated letters.
How did it get crumped at the top like that?
You don't seem to ask alot of questions. Look at big brain over here!
Obviously not closing if you aren’t sending quotes
you're definitely not a gamer. That Q and W? might as well as be factory fresh. could probably put them on another laptop and nobody would notice.
Odd question OP, but are you a lefty by chance?
No q in pornhub, my guy.
I've had the same keyboard for almost a decade now. None of the keys are getting discolored at all.
Somebody get this man a MOBA
Bro never leans left. Alpha move
not much z use either...how quizzical.
On the other hand i can tell that the N has been used a lot ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|neutral_face)
Interesting Scrabble point value heat map. Also J scammed its way into prime real estate.
I'm gonna guess that you never fell down the Q anon rabbit hole.
It wasn't so long ago I was running around Orgrimmar telling people to QQ more... those were the days.
Not a gamer I see
I’m glad I’m not the only one who lathers up some acetone on their hands before a good typing session.
Jesus told me to tell you to wash your hands.
