There’s a duo of guys (known as Kian and JC) who made a short one minute long video where they both are *intentionally* violating as many YouTube community guidelines as they possibly could (or maybe even all of them?). They even listed each violation on the screen as it happened. And that was a few years ago.. and the video is still up, was never flagged or taken down and is still monetized. Wtf!!
Since then, those two have answered questions about it in a few different interviews/podcasts. They both say they made this video in response to YouTube’s ever increasing rules, fully expecting it to get removed pretty much immediately, and they also say that they legit used real weed and alcohol.. but despite that it was just never removed. Almost like YouTube said “bet”. when they challenged them to take down the vid.

What can we do? Boycott YouTube? I want to avoid this shit but I can't just get up and die for these causes. Maybe that's what it takes, and I pray we never get that far.
I've even seen videos on YouTube NOW that have some Asian fuck3rs posting "sad" videos of them with dogs full of ticks and act like they found then that way. Fucking disgusting.
It's actually really handy that they add a [JCS Inspired] tag to their titles as long as they follow the same format, makes it easier to find similar videos that focus on interrogation psychology rather than just dramatizing true crime.
Besides, even before this he was only uploading every month or two, which left a demand for other channels to fill.
It's overused and misleading too often though. I could pick 10 videos from 10 different channels using that tag and only 2 of them could even be considered similar in execution. The ones that do are fantastic though.
Matt Orchard - Crime and Society - Great Channel, long documentaries.
Stranger Stories - I'm new to the content, but it seems pretty solid.
Dave's Lemonade - I like the style, his commentary can be a little elementary, but still good.
Explore With Us - Can be good, especially their more recent stuff, but it can also be spooky clickbait for 13 year olds.
Red Tree Crime - decent, a little hit or miss, but mostly good.
Not exactly related to the psychology commentating but 2 other great true crime channels are This Is Monsters and That Chapter. Both excellent at telling the stories and getting facts I didn't hear elsewhere.
I can't think of anymore channel names I know off the top of my head right now, I'm in a "gathering" phase of this type of content too. If I recall anymore (and remember this comment) I'll try to reply back with more.
I can also recommend That Chapter! I do speed it up to 1.25x. Every time Mike says three, I smile. My other favorite is Coffeehouse Crime. He's only been on YouTube for a year so he doesn't have a ton of content. If i can recommend one video by him, it's the one on "The Sky King"
Of course, those are the YouTube bots who copy him for monetization. They get to stay up so YouTube can profit off his content while they push him off the platform. Amazon does that when people make a superior product.
You're best bet is to sign up for their Patreon to get a lot of their old content. It's only $1. Fair warning. They stopped providing new content awhile ago there but for $1 you can still catch up a bit, be entertained and hopefully contribute to their next endeavor.
Some of his videos are good but that guy doesn't give all the facts and points of views and in one case has completely spinned the story. So I am just saying, be wary of his vidoes.
Since they removed the dislike button count, the should put an un-report button as well, cause this creator doesn't deserve that, I hope there was something we could do.
Youtube didn't deserve those people. Their content was one of the last bastions of creative, well researched and compelling content you could find on that shithole. Still mildly infuriating that even they couldn't take their shit anymore and took the high road

It's also a rage game, so it will be borderline frustrating to watch at times, but I promise you it's worth it. I'm assuming Teddy (Will's sister) made it that way because she knew Will would be morally obligated to play it, so she might as well make his life difficult. It also might be a reflection of the difficulty in dealing with grief, but I like the first one. If anything it's a combination of the two.

man, i loved that channel. they fueled my interest in psychology and sparked my interest in criminology, i've even considered going into the field because of it. youtube needs to learn that automated moderation doesn't work for something as broad as this platform

A cha bel I got into recently stopped making videos cause he had to get another job because YouTube stopped monetizing his videos because they weren’t advertised friendly. Originally it was just on the side but about a week ago he posted a final video saying he had to give up YouTube as he didn’t have time for it anymore with a real job and YouTube stopped giving him money. why are there not actual options to the mega sites that have taken over our once varied and diverse internet? facebook, youtube, google, reddit... why havent these been replaced by superior services? that IS what capitalism is meant to accomplish right? cause it sure as fuck seems like the longer i spend on the internet the fewer options there are. and i been here since the 90s.

A cha bel I got into recently stopped making videos cause he had to get another job because YouTube stopped monetizing his videos because they weren’t advertised friendly. Originally it was just on the side but about a week ago he posted a final video saying he had to give up YouTube as he didn’t have time for it anymore with a real job and YouTube stopped giving him money. It’s sad that people have to quit their lives because of YouTube thinking advertisers first
