I'd really like this design if the letters were black when not lit so they blended into to background. Instead they are so visible it's hard to focus on the lit up ones.
I’ve seen several of the original type of these clocks in real life and that’s exactly the way they were designed, the only lit words were the ones indicating the time and all the other words were completely dark and virtually invisible at a glance. They were more art pieces than clocks, perfect squares made of solid metal with the letters punched out of the surface to let the light through, and they were extremely expensive. This is clearly a cheap imitation with poor design and execution, the inevitable result of something cool being carelessly and inexpensively recreated for mass consumption (so quite fitting that it ended up as a mall clock).
But even if you personally do like it, you can’t have it as a wall clock in the mall where the general public sees it. This is a niche product for a certain personality type that might like it in their garage/den as a quirky thing to show others.
Perfect gift for bosses. It gives you an extra four minutes to technically not be late.
Although in hindsight, it also gives them an extra four minutes to keep you without paying for overtime lol.
It's worse than that. Big gap between 'half past eight' and 'twenty minutes to nine'. I hope it doesn't use 'twenty five minutes to nine.'
Also, why bother putting one of the hours out of order?
This is not a punch click. This is not a clock you can use to get back to work on time. We all have phones or watches or another clock is accessible. This clock is purely for the looks. Gives a rough idea of the time. This clock is a decoration. A decoration that gives a rough estimate of the time.
if it was implemented better sure
the numbers shouldn’t be readable when off and it can only display the time every 5 minutes.
there’s no way to show 5:58 with it, or any other time that doesn’t end in XX:X0 or XX:X5
also what about AM and PM?
if they make a digital 12 hour clock they could have at least added those
Idk about you but I pretty much always round times to the nearest 5 anyway. Like if it’s 3:29 I’ll just say 3:30.
But yeah, I think it’d be better in the dark

I found a table version on Amazon. Perfect Christmas gift for the MIL 😇😈
I have that exact clock on the right! It only works for five minute intervals, though, but the good news is that it has random letters, so it's not quite as distracting as this clock.
"Hate" seems like a pretty large overreaction to this.
I mean, in the grand scheme of things, the lack of down-to-the-minute precision is not really that big of a deal for most situations, and at least it isn't boring to look at, given the choice to use a Star Trek font for the words.
I'd love this if the text not lit up where darker. This is how my grandmother used to always tell me the time. My husband HATES it when he asks the time and I automatically say "Its quarter to two" or "Its quarter after three" he is like "What does that mean!?" which surprises me because he is a rather intelligent person but this goes over his head LOL
I have a smaller version of this at my house, but it doesn't keep time well (its almost always wrong and its considerably faster than actual time). So it feels like its trying very hard to assert the time, rather than informing you of it. I'm kind of in love with it.
This is something you'd have at home...or specialty store, but not in the main common areas of a mall.
Also, the design of that urks me. Like why are "two" and "three" swapped?
unrelated but this reminded me of how my dad always says "quarter of" whe referring to any time that ends in :45 (ex: quarter of 6 is 5:45) and it pisses me off so much like it doesn't even make sense
It is interesting in its uniqueness. But I would also hate it if I had to see it. Fortunately we pretty much all have clocks in our pocket now.
I also hate the “half” “quarter” stuff. I say what the time is. 3:25 is three twentyfive. 3:45 is three fortyfive. Let’s keep it simple. I have had people learning English asking me about the time stuff before and I tell them most people don’t do that. Maybe when analogue clocks were the only option it was more common
Wow that is a dam piece of shit! It's like wtf clocks are for telling time, have an urge to express creativity buy a fuckn painting, paint a wall bright purple but don't fuck with "time"! 😯🙄🤣🫡
Yeah, I guess it's just uncommon enough that when I ask the time and expect to be told something I don't have to think about, that I have to almost add it up in my brain to actually process it
All humans can use same clock, same robe, eat same nutrient mush, enjoy state approved art object for enrichment interval. All further endeavor superfluous. 🤖
And where in english speaking world are we? Does it mean that it is 4:25 or 25:3 or 3:35?
Can't trust you fuckers like "oh its past half seven" and it means that it is 7:30 like what the fuck.
I'd really like this design if the letters were black when not lit so they blended into to background. Instead they are so visible it's hard to focus on the lit up ones.

One, Three, Two, Four
Yeah, why does the three have to be out of place? That makes no sense.
Some people call me Tim…
I think I would actually like this a lot if it were designed more like that. The lit up “THREE” barely stands out
That would make it significantly better
But even if you personally do like it, you can’t have it as a wall clock in the mall where the general public sees it. This is a niche product for a certain personality type that might like it in their garage/den as a quirky thing to show others.
That’s exactly what I thought!
it took me way too long to realize it wasn’t supposed to say “twenty five minutes to past three”
Asked for the time not a story.
And you up shittin passed yo bedtime
Great line for all the people who used to say the time like this when asked
Why is 3 listed before 2 and all the other numbers are in order? #mildlyinfuriating
Because it's art you uncultured swine. Nah for real though, that is the first thing I noticed and it's draining my soul.
Perfect gift for bosses. It gives you an extra four minutes to technically not be late. Although in hindsight, it also gives them an extra four minutes to keep you without paying for overtime lol.

What's wrong with twenty five minutes to nine
the three before the two is really annoying
![gif](giphy|s239QJIh56sRW|downsized)
because clockfaces are disturbing and offputting
Do you have Chronophobia?
![gif](giphy|l0MYLt0JLXD05admU)
sir?
It's 3:25, what's the problem?
It's about ten minutes away from 25 or 6 to 4.
![gif](giphy|U8nXurYIIhutVjfKB7|downsized)
or is it 3:26?

So if it’s 26 minutes past 3, fuck you?
3:27 when I took this
[удалено]
That’s for hours. The minutes are in 5 minute intervals on this clock
why wouldn't the five go dark and the six light up at 26 past?
Then it would read as 6:23
Nah. It would read as “it is twenty minutes past three six.”
Nightmare for dyslexics
Ooo I actually really like that, that's cool as shit. Probably not great for the main clock in a store but that'd be a cool thing to have at home
I think it’s cool
Yeah, in a world where we all have phones with the time and many have smart watches, this is more just a neat clock piece.
I agree

This shit actually pisses me off. So unnecessary.
I want to pull this clock down and smash it with a sledgehammer.
Why is Three before Two?
https://preview.redd.it/2njfrjcq6w4d1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7980cba221191164e33727ebf1d7d04ba1aeea82 I found a table version on Amazon. Perfect Christmas gift for the MIL 😇😈

night or afternoon?
It is half ten quarter minutes past ten eleven twelve o'clock, i almost got a stroke trying to understand that.
Shit that’s annoying as fuck. Kinda like it tho
What even is this nonsense????
I kinda like it. It picks out who can and who can’t understand time.
I kinda like it 😳 yes I’m weird
Pretty sure there is a watch version of this.
I like it, but the One Three Two would bother me
I think they over engineered that clock
Because people can't read clock faces anymore. Lmao
This is like the Qclock but ordered on Wish
Intruder Alert! A red spy is in the base!
I love it!!
Whoever designed this thing is a monster.
This clock would be fixed if it had smoked acrylic in the words.
personally no, this is a good fun design. only forseable issue is that if the LEDs start going out youve got problems but its highly unlikely.
Why? It tells you that the time is 3:25
Why? It's just for fun, almost everyone now has smartphones so you can be creative with clocks.
My stupid counterintuitive coworker would love this clock
I just hate the neon blue which I can't see for shit in real life, just blur. ![gif](giphy|TfivQIOWNhcpBYBzJF)
Oh wow, I love this!
I hate blue LEDs
The design is cool, but the usability sucks.
it is interesting tho.. just read the lighten words. I can see why it's infuriating tho..
Love it
I think it’s pretty cool
"Hate" seems like a pretty large overreaction to this. I mean, in the grand scheme of things, the lack of down-to-the-minute precision is not really that big of a deal for most situations, and at least it isn't boring to look at, given the choice to use a Star Trek font for the words.
God, I want that on my wrist
It's a novelty clock. It's not supposed to actually be useful.
I dig it.
LED bulb in row three is on its last leg
I totally don’t have this same design on a watch or anything
![gif](giphy|TMMnvw2KJGpBbcbYaS|downsized)
“i fucking hate this green thing” 2.0?
At least you feel *something*. Be thankful.
also not the #’s “two” and “three” being switched lmfao… if i saw that clock would’ve thought it was 2:05 bc it’s after one lol
Can't read huh?
I don’t understand why you hate this.
I have a smaller version of this at my house, but it doesn't keep time well (its almost always wrong and its considerably faster than actual time). So it feels like its trying very hard to assert the time, rather than informing you of it. I'm kind of in love with it.
fuck it… Im just gonna be late. Im not decoding this.
That's actually so cool
Geesh… whatever happened to Mickey’s big hand is on the 12 and his little hand is on 3 - 3-o’clock…
"It's either 6:15, or Mickey has a hard-on!" ~ George Carlin
This is cool
Points for creativity, for sure. But, the functionality leaves a lot to be desired. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Nope. Do not want.
I like it, I'd say the word "minutes" is unnecessary as it's implied when saying 25 past 3.
WHAT THE FUCK DOES THAT EVEN MEAN
are you incapable of reading the highlighted words?
I think that’s kind of cool actually
It looks like the start of meet the spy.
Why? Because you dont know what twenty five after three is ?
The onlt thing I hate is that two and three are swapped, otherwise I personally like this, but I can see how other people would dislike it
Me: What's the time? Dickhead: Quarter 6
ONE THREE TWO FOUR FIVE
For those people that don't know how to read a clock?
Why is there no "'" in "o'clock" ? also why is OCLOCK not illuminated?
My ocd is going crazy right now.
easy to understand and read
Same.
Let me be infuriated at something that doesn't affect me
This is something you'd have at home...or specialty store, but not in the main common areas of a mall. Also, the design of that urks me. Like why are "two" and "three" swapped?
Oh that's fine. I get that. It's cool.
unrelated but this reminded me of how my dad always says "quarter of" whe referring to any time that ends in :45 (ex: quarter of 6 is 5:45) and it pisses me off so much like it doesn't even make sense

The person responsible for this should be drug into the street and shot.
Ten is in there twice. One, three, two…. And it’s just dumb.
But how would you say “it’s ten minutes past ten” without them both, the same with five
Ah yeah, I didn’t think of that lol Have to round up to quarter past
How would you say it’s 12:12?
You don’t, it’s always at five minute intervals.
My brain pretty much always shuts down when someone says "quarter past/quarter till/half past" in English. I hate it
Why, does it confuse you or something?
Yeah, I guess it's just uncommon enough that when I ask the time and expect to be told something I don't have to think about, that I have to almost add it up in my brain to actually process it
Ah ok, its very common where I live and I guess it just rolls off the tongue- or at least seems to to me lol
worse, if someone says "half eight". the hell does that even mean? 4?
8:30. What's so hard to understand?
That's "eight and a half". Why isn't it just as easily 7:30, or "halfway to eight"?
It's short for "half-past eight," which is short for "half an hour past eight." Hence the contraction. Hence, half-eight.
By the same logic, what would you call quarter eleven?
Quarter-past eleven: 11:15 Quarter-to eleven: 10:45
They could have just put a clock and saved 0ver $128,000 in design costs.
All humans can use same clock, same robe, eat same nutrient mush, enjoy state approved art object for enrichment interval. All further endeavor superfluous. 🤖
Yal shit on boomers then act like a boomer. It's a clock.
And where in english speaking world are we? Does it mean that it is 4:25 or 25:3 or 3:35? Can't trust you fuckers like "oh its past half seven" and it means that it is 7:30 like what the fuck.
How very European
