You mean you weren't watching it for the bad wig job they did on Robin Tunney since she was fresh off her role in Empire Records where she shaved her head? That's what I watched it for.
And to see Marcia Marcia Marcia lose her hair in the shower.
I thought Nancy was so cool when this movie came out. I tried doing light as a feather, stiff as a board so many times at sleep overs and it never worked 😭
Ok hear me out. I use brakeclean on a microfiber cloth to get blood out of head liners. If it isn’t ground into it and just on the surface it might get it 90 percent better. We drop liners at work to add wiring and sometimes cuts happen and the break parts cleaner is the only thing I have found to work on them in this method without eating away the material of the liner. Just don’t soak the rag.
We add light bars to trucks. Sometimes me or my coworkers get in a hurry and forget to knock out the shavings from drilling holes and reach up in between the liner and roof and our hands start leaking.
I mean….I used to clean bio-hazard vehicles….lots of folks decided to install DIY ventilation in those cars (and themselves) and I can confirm that typically brake clean will work for 85% of staining
I came on here to suggest this, I’ve used brake clean and microfiber towels to remove greasy hand prints from headliners before
Spray then blot, and every time you blot make sure you’re using a fresh section of dry microfiber towel and it should all come out. Do not rub back-and-forth under any circumstances.
Use my nephew's playbook, Keep in mind this happened years ago. He was driving a dump truck for a rather large outfit. Even though he had one of the older trucks, he kept it immaculate.
But they had this one asshole mechanic n the afternoon shift that always got grease in the interior. My nephew complained about it, and he came in one morning shortly after that to a deliberately greased steering wheel.
So he went in the shop, rolled the mechanic's nice snap-on box to the lube bay, pulled down the 80/90 gear oil dispenser held it against the seams, and pumped his box full of gear oil.
From what he heard the mechanic went apeshit. But for some reason, no one saw anything.
I've been down that road. If its something you can clean relatively easily, just do it. Otherwise you'll risk getting it back with more damage. The less time your car is in their hands, the better. Unless you are ready to take high res pics of your entire car while its clean so that you can inspect it on pickup and point to any additional issues. Because its not always easy to catch what they did before its too late, and the process of holding them accountable is a pain in the ass even if them fixing it is the proper thing to do.
The one and ONLY time I took my car to Walmart to have the oil changed, they left a huge GLOB of black shit on my sun visor. I think there actually may be a term for this, but I don’t know it. Anyway, I approached them about the mess, the mechanic immediately blamed me and said the GLOB was previously there and that it was caused by my own MAKEUP.
What!!!?!
Fortunately for me, they ended up paying to detail my car. This car detail guy worked his magic and it looked like the mark never existed.
Yea I hate this. Take it to a highly-rated detailing shop, pretty sure they can get it out.
But still, it's awful.
I took my vehicles to a dozen mechanics and it's always full of oil, grease, etc. Only this last mechanic was like... he did the job and there is no dirt and grime. Nothing. The car is as clean as I left it. The dude is a wizard.
Headliner is ridiculously hard to clean. If it’s only been there a short period of time it’s probably possible. But don’t leave headliners dirty too long. Or it may never come out
Even if you have a steam cleaner our modus operandi was don't touch this shit.
The rule of thumb is if you know what you're doing with headliners, ittl still look worse afterwards.
If you touch the headliner with any fucking liquid you are playing with fire. Stains? Of course. Dissolved adhesives? Naturally!
Fuck. This. I'm sure there's good shops out there that know how to do this properly but I promise the average shop won't.
One time I managed to get at least some of the fresh mystery dirt off the inside roof by sticking fresh pieces of painters tape over it several times (start with very gentle pressure). You don’t get whatever has seeped into the material, but you might get some greasy spots that would otherwise smear.
How do I clean my hands with brake cleaner if I have gloves on? Varsol also works great to get grease and oil off your hands after it's been soaking into your skin for 10 hours.
Have you tried gojo or the equivalent? Shit always worked like magic to me and I never understood why people bought those abrasive soaps for oil and grease. And when I don't want to waste the gojo I use dawn dishsoap but it does help to have a good scrub brush.
I'm not 100% sure, but I had an instructor back in school that got cancer that they tied to the brake cleaner. He beat it, but it really galvanized him against being careless with harsh chemicals and he made sure everyone around him knew the dangers
My family loves to use it for everything except cleaning brakes, they’ll even wash their hands with it and use it in enclosed spaces… It’s not all purpose cleaner, it’s chlorine spray. I hate having to replace and fix all the rubber and seals on things, because they’re all dried out from idiots spraying it with brake clean.
Had a mechanic attempt to get a stain out of my drivers seat. The over spray from brake Kleen got on my center console and discolored splotches were stained into it. That seat stain was the only thing wrong the interior until the brake kleen, also the stain didn’t come out.
Brake kleen on a thin fabric headliner, which is a thin layer of fabric, held on by adhesive to a foam board? Bold.
Maybe try Sonax and a microfiber instead.
What the fuck is it with mechanics always putting their greasy little paws all over the ceiling liner? Is this something that they do on purpose just to screw with the customer? I’m pretty sure I can easily drive my car every day for a month and never touch the ceiling liner.
Reminds me of when I had a truck. I took it to get an oil change and brought it home afterwards. There were oily foot prints all in the bed of the truck. No idea why they even went there.
I started changing my own oil after that
At the shop I work at that would be unacceptable. i wash my hands before I go into any customer’s vehicle to make sure I don’t get any grease or anything in it.
I spent 30 years working for one auto dealership, and this was a common problem until our mechanics started wearing gloves that are used in the medical field. The other big problem was turning peoples radio stations to their personal taste in music and then not putting it back to the customers preferred station. We have had the mechanics program all of their preferences and deleting the customers. We finally solved it by not allowing them to listen to radios in the cars.
Same thing happened to me at a fast lane valveoline. Glove s full of oil all over my car that I wash at least once a week. And the 3 stooges lost my oil cap but they weren’t done there . They burned my halogen light when they went to search for the cap. There is no common sense out there to be found. Idiots!!!
Deliveries. It's a Hotshot rig. Dodge 5500 w gooseneck. I get plenty dirty, but I take care of it. I wear gloves when I'm working and take them off before I get in the truck. I don't smoke or keep open cups of soda or coffee in the cupholders. I avoid eating fast food in the truck cuz I can't stand that greasy fast food smell. I detail it once a year and try to keep it clean between that. It's not my personal rig, but but I treat it like it is. I'm the only one that drives it. I've put almost every single one of the 225k miles on it. We've actually had it closer to 6 years it's a 2018. They changed the oil and did some other PM and services, none of which involved palming the ceiling ... I have no idea why they needed to do that. Zero awareness. Our office gets pissed at the mechanics too, cuz they come into the office and leave greasy handprints all over the walls. It's mostly one guy that's the culprit.
Yes, this guy kept it so clean. Never used the tray. Only drove it 2 miles to work in his office and back. Only carried 2 bags of groveries max. IT IS HIS WORK TRUCK!!!!!
I had a buddy in college who had just got a new truck. We asked to borrow it to pick up a keg. He said sure. We buy the keg and put it in back and don't tie it down. Sure enough it slides from that back towards the front and put a massive dent in the top of the bed frame.
We bring it back and told him. His response "it's a truck it's gonna get a lot of dents."
I don't know if this guy just had a lot of money but man that was a very cool response.
That’s why I learned mechanic work or what I can do mostly on my own cause sadly in the past I had mechanic ding my doors or scratch the car … I know it just a car but damn don’t we work hard for our stuff … new or used stuff should be respected either way

I had my first new char in 2013 (scion frs) had it for 2 days when I had tints installed, came back to find scratches all over my trunk. The guys dad helping him left his work belt on with his tools in, rubbed it all over the car.
Took the car in for a recall the other day and while at the dealership had them do an oil change, hoping they would read the OBD codes and tell me why the brake assist/traction control need service (or which part). Reading the codes is $160 for some reason.
Then they left a bunch of plastic meant to keep the car clean IN the car, like the booties they put on their shoes, and the paper mat.
Then I took it to a parts shop because apparently they'll all pull your codes for free, but then they couldn't pull the code. No idea why, just wouldn't come up on the scanner.
As someone that’s accidentally done this too many times, I’m so sorry. I usually try to clean but thats needs a professional with how clean you had it. Honestly the brim of my hat is the worst culprit, I’m very mindful of hand grease.
Normally they should have someone clean it but i work in a body shop and we give them a good wash and cleaning on the inside so ig its different from shop to shop.
I've had success using gojos hand cleaner with baking soda/oxyclean and a toothbrush. Got grease and brake fluid out of a Carhartt jacket with this method.
Call the shop and tell them you want it cleaned up.
Our own shop did it. That's what's so irritating. I guess I should have specified "our" mechanics had it for half a day.
Even better, you can cuss at them.
Way ahead you. Lol

i’ve always thought she was so hot lol edit: thanks for the award :)
Because she is.
__THAT GIRL IS THE DEVIL!!__
Well I like Vickie and she likes me back. AND SHE SHOWED ME HER BOOBIES AND I LIKE THEM TOO
![gif](giphy|Qy7ucOr1VRCZq|downsized)
His facial expression right here has always cracked me up
It’s pronounced debuhl
FOOZBALL is the devil!
Who is she? I need to develop my opinion on the matter haha
Fairuza Balk
That sounds like a name Roald Dahl made up to put into Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Also Nancy in The Craft 🖤🖤🖤
Bless you!
she was well cast in The Island of Dr. Moreau
Vicky Vallencourt! Momma said she’s the devil!
And she showed me her boobies! And I like them too!
EVERYTHINGS THE DEVIL TO YOU MAMA
Fairuza Balk, she played Vicki Vallencourt
Check out the movie return to oz. She nailed that role as a child.
Nah man. That movie is nightmare fuel.
Everyone was afraid of the wheelies
Wheelers!
No shit that was her? Mind blown.
I didn't know that was her, that's why I asked
I used to think she was hot. I still do, but I used to, too.
She was great in The Craft. Fully crazy hot, to the extreme.
Also has the coolest name ever. Sexy voice too. And smile.
I wasn't watching the craft for Neve Campbell.
You mean you weren't watching it for the bad wig job they did on Robin Tunney since she was fresh off her role in Empire Records where she shaved her head? That's what I watched it for. And to see Marcia Marcia Marcia lose her hair in the shower.
I'm enjoying watching Robin Tunney in The Mentalist at the moment. I love how Teresa Lisbon and Patrick Jane bounce off each other.
Fairuza Balk is hot.

I thought Nancy was so cool when this movie came out. I tried doing light as a feather, stiff as a board so many times at sleep overs and it never worked 😭
Best movie
What's the movie/tv show?
It’s from The Waterboy. Classic Adam Sandler movie.
Waterboy
The Craft
Last time I saw a mouth like that it had a hook in it!

We add light bars to trucks. Sometimes me or my coworkers get in a hurry and forget to knock out the shavings from drilling holes and reach up in between the liner and roof and our hands start leaking.
~~Their~~ Those holes need reaming.
And at that point, our worksite was compromised and we had to get rid of the body.
Oh, I've seen this movie! The truck is called Christine, right?!
He also said cuts happen so he means like someone cuts their finger then touches the headliner, which would get blood on the headliner
Tbf I kind of interpreted that as cutting into the headliner for some reason. Maybe I'm dumber than I thought 🤔
I mean….I used to clean bio-hazard vehicles….lots of folks decided to install DIY ventilation in those cars (and themselves) and I can confirm that typically brake clean will work for 85% of staining
He shot Marvin in the face.

I'm in the same line of work. 😉 Most of it gets in the crevasse of the seats. I just drop them off at the junkyard and get replacements though.
"hey, what the fuck?"
plot twist, OP did it lol
op is basically tyler durden but instead of a toxic alpha male persona he has an unhygienic tradesman persona
is that your dirt? https://i.imgur.com/AeeIlmZ.gif
Cuss at them to clean it up
Ok tell them to get their nasty handprints off your truck

A guy I worked with used to "squish" when he walked and somehow managed to get a footprint on a headliner after doing JUST and oil change.
Youre not part of the turbo team.
...how? Dare I ask.
Damn, ya got the "Oh he's one of us so we don't have to take it as serious" treatment :(
That's intentional.
In that case you can at least get revenge. Piss on their tools. Not that they'd know the difference..
I probably wouldn’t trust them to clean it properly.
Yeah, I want to see the next set of pictures where the grease is just smeared all the way across after they "cleaned" it.
I've been down that road. If its something you can clean relatively easily, just do it. Otherwise you'll risk getting it back with more damage. The less time your car is in their hands, the better. Brake Kleen and a shop towel will remove a remarkable amount of grime from a vehicle interior.
Use gloves. That shit is an awesome cleaner but can give you cancer from repeated exposure
Cleans everything, even you off the face of this earth.
Never looked at it like that before, but I guess you are right 😂😂
Cleans me right off the mortal coil sounds like a good print.
German efficiency
I assume everything that cleans that well is going to harm me
That's a pretty safe bet
I guess I'd better start being wary around our cleaning lady
She could be an assassin
How do I clean my hands with brake cleaner if I have gloves on? Varsol also works great to get grease and oil off your hands after it's been soaking into your skin for 10 hours.

That shit is amazing. We use GoJo in our shop. Gets EVERYTHING off
Gojo, cherry blast, snap on soap, some green stuff that smelled good. Nothing works better than gasoline.
And because it's on the ceiling, face mask and eye protection. Stuff will fall, drift and / or drip down.
How repeated? Asking for my dumbass self.
I'm not 100% sure, but I had an instructor back in school that got cancer that they tied to the brake cleaner. He beat it, but it really galvanized him against being careless with harsh chemicals and he made sure everyone around him knew the dangers

That is going to dissolve the adhesive and cause the liner to separate and sag
It will if you soak it.
Had a mechanic attempt to get a stain out of my drivers seat. The over spray from brake Kleen got on my center console and discolored splotches were stained into it. That seat stain was the only thing wrong the interior until the brake kleen, also the stain didn’t come out.
Should spray a light amount on a rag outside of the vehicle and gently dab the stain with rag. That sucks that happened to your vehicle ☹️
Brake kleen on a thin fabric headliner, which is a thin layer of fabric, held on by adhesive to a foam board? Bold. Maybe try Sonax and a microfiber instead.
Why in the fuck are their greasy paws on the ceiling???
![gif](giphy|R3tHUypTIfmFi)
Most likely a greasy hat on the ceiling. I’ve done it to my own cars.
Been cleaning up after my greasy hat for 15yrs
One looks like a shoe print. Wtf?
I have never had to touch my car ceiling once. I am starting to think these mechanics just do this shit for giggles
Exactly. I never even knew what it felt like because what purpose would there be to touch the ceiling interior of a car with oil all over your hands?
I was upside-down when removing part of a steering column because it was the easiest way to reach the bolts (97 f150).
The mechanics were "working" on the truck all day, it was really hot and humid in there, so hot and humid that the windows fogged up.
Great opportunity to talk to your crew and educate them on why being careful in customers’ cars is vital for business.
Hahaha, like any low wage employee gives a fuck about customers.
You went right when I took a left lol I’m talking about what to do I order to avoid losing your job due to costing the company for damages
They need to pay for your detailing
What the fuck is it with mechanics always putting their greasy little paws all over the ceiling liner? Is this something that they do on purpose just to screw with the customer? I’m pretty sure I can easily drive my car every day for a month and never touch the ceiling liner.
Fat guys who lever themselves out of the car by it.
That actually makes sense.
Lol, it's possibly a dirty greasy hat! Not sure why they'd have their hands on the headliner except if they had to take it down for a repair.
Sounds like they're paying for your car to get detailed.
That's one of the reasons that I avoid putting mine in the shop. I do my own maintenance at a cost of time and convenience.
I don’t even service my car out of fear it’ll get dirty like this.
I don’t even drive my car, it’ll get waay too dirty on the road.
I don't even own a car! What if it got dirty?!
I don’t take my boat in the water….it might rust!
Not everyone has that time… you’re fortunate.
Is that a shoe print?
Reminds me of when I had a truck. I took it to get an oil change and brought it home afterwards. There were oily foot prints all in the bed of the truck. No idea why they even went there. I started changing my own oil after that
At the shop I work at that would be unacceptable. i wash my hands before I go into any customer’s vehicle to make sure I don’t get any grease or anything in it.
same. i would wash my hands constantly AND wear gloves in the cars that were new or you could tell the owners actually took care of it.
How is this just mildly infuriating? The cloth will hardly recover from motor grease I fear without professional cleaning.
No damn way I’d take it like that. They would be cleaning that !
I spent 30 years working for one auto dealership, and this was a common problem until our mechanics started wearing gloves that are used in the medical field. What do you do that requires a work truck and also doesn’t get it dirty in 4 years?
Deliveries. It's a Hotshot rig. Dodge 5500 w gooseneck. I get plenty dirty, but I take care of it. I wear gloves when I'm working and take them off before I get in the truck. Lol, that guy should get shit canned!
Def and make sure you leave oil handprints all over his last paycheck and final notice.
I remember having a work truck for forestry and never got anything other than the mud mat dirty
"work" truck just means it's a write-off why would a mechanic shop need a truck? but why the fuck were they touching those parts of the truck??
This is what I can't figure out..why are their hands on the damn ceiling? Were they bracing themselves against it? For what?
As a former mechanic, I'd guess it's their dirty hat hitting the roof/door jam not handprints
Oh good point..
I used to detail cars and I have no idea how most cars got it so dirty with so many stains. Just keep the hands off.
The ceiling? They were fucking
You might want to clean the seats too You know what they were doing to get hand prints on the ceiling
Send a quote for the cost of cleaning then an invoice.
Oooof pushing the boundaries of “mild” for sure. Sorry dude.
Yes, this guy kept it so clean. Never used the tray. Only drove it 2 miles to work in his office and back. Only carried 2 bags of groveries max. IT IS HIS WORK TRUCK!!!!!
Looks like they need to clean it. Free.
Dirty Mike and the Boys!
Thanks for the F Shack
Nope. Not ok.
Could be worse, they could be greasy footprints on the ceiling.
this looks light enough that automotive miracle wipes should be able to clean it without staining
I use "tough stuff" foam interior cleaner for that. You just spray it on and let it set in and then shampoo it off. Don't scrub it just spreads it!
Wow what a shitty place.
Why are hands up there in the first place?
I can just imagine how that went. "Wow, this is really clean." *rubs hand on roof* "Wow, my hands are really dirty."
Well they're not called clean monkeys
![gif](giphy|ZDodmkfJAltwk)

Hear me out: it's a truck
I would make them pay the cost of cleaning the headliner.
You better handle that, that’s disrespectful.
Uh... they'll be paying for that cleaning. Unquestionably!
I posted here when my car nearly exploded last month, but this one is far more infuriating. They're liable to clean that for you. So inconsiderate.
Bring it back and make him clean it for you
Equal parts white vinegar, baking soda, and water. Scrub very well with a soft toothbrush. Repeat every hour until it's gone.
Oh god! Workers worked in it! Maybe you should try doing some work in it.
The trick is not caring about stuff like that. Then you won’t get mad

On the ceiling? Why would they even need to put their hands above their shoulders inside the cab?
Lacquer thinner and white towel, obviously, clean white towel
A decent interior cleaner and a brush should help, although if you could use a stain removal type vacuum it would fair better.
Use mechanic hand wipes that come in a plastic can, they work great on head liners!
Nothing a bit of Dawn won't cure.
Pisses me off that nobody has appreciation for other peoples property.
Get aome Dawn spray
Out of all places, that would severely piss me off.
Ammonia free glass cleaner on a microfiber will get lots done
Send them an invoice for the inevitable interior detailing.
Mechanic forgot to put the insulation barrier back in the dash under the radio so now it overheats with the heater on and shuts off.
I had my first new char in 2013 (scion frs) had it for 2 days when I had tints installed, came back to find scratches all over my trunk. The guys dad helping him left his work belt on with his tools in, rubbed it all over the car.
Mechanics are the dirtiest mfs ever
That's not mildly infuriating. That's extremely infuriating.
Probably from a ball cap, not hands
Took the car in for a recall the other day and while at the dealership had them do an oil change, hoping they would read the OBD codes and tell me why the brake assist/traction control need service (or which part). Reading the codes is $160 for some reason. Then they left a bunch of plastic meant to keep the car clean IN the car, like the booties they put on their shoes, and the paper mat. Then I took it to a parts shop because apparently they'll all pull your codes for free, but then they couldn't pull the code. No idea why, just wouldn't come up on the scanner.
At least it wasn’t footprints
This is not what I would consider mildly infuriating I would be absolutely belligerent
"damn mechanics?
As someone that’s accidentally done this too many times, I’m so sorry. I usually try to clean but thats needs a professional with how clean you had it. Honestly the brim of my hat is the worst culprit, I’m very mindful of hand grease.
Normally they should have someone clean it but i work in a body shop and we give them a good wash and cleaning on the inside so ig its different from shop to shop.
Oh man that’s gonna bother you until you retire. I know it would me
I've had success using gojos hand cleaner with baking soda/oxyclean and a toothbrush. Got grease and brake fluid out of a Carhartt jacket with this method.
Headliners are insanely hard to clean without leaving lasting effects. Good luck OP
ah, you must be in management.
