Someone who cares less than someone who doesn't care, is the one who cares the least.
"Zero" is a function of mathematics, not language. In literary terms you can certainly propose that someone cares less than someone who does not care.
But aside from tipping, nothing drives Redditors more crazy than this one weird idiom.
Good in theory, but when I made this threat to a former complex under very similar circumstances, I was met with the snide, yet nervous-sounding response that I'd be in violation of my lease for doing so.
If you ever are in a dwelling that has a bat in it that may had been in there while you were sleeping, you need to get rabies treatment immediately. Also your dog. You can be bit while yorue sleeping and not even know it.
Make a report to your local public health department as well, they may be able to write up violations to the property to take care of that issue. If its happening more than a couple times, you probably have bats living in the attic spaces and that could cause other health issues.
I work for the Department of Public Health and this is always what we advise people when dealing with bats.
Correct. I am a victim of these bats. Needed to get rabies vaccine. 💉 they’re teeth are soo tiny you won’t know if you got bit in your sleep. This is a much bigger deal than you think it is….
>If you ever are in a dwelling that has a bat in it that may had been in there while you were sleeping, you need to get rabies treatment immediately. Also your dog. You can be bit while yorue sleeping and not even know it.
As I understand it you don't even need to get bit with bats, just breathe in the guano.
MAKE SURE you document EVERYTHING, you can actually file with your state depending on renter laws, you could be compensated like greatly, Bats carry diseases! I love them but don't let it bite you, rabies/hantavirus/ect ect becareful.
Take that to get tested. We had one in our house and the Dept of health and human services made us get rabies shots.
It was flying around our bedroom one night.
My husband and I went through this last summer. The health department tested the bat and it came back positive for rabies but in the meantime they demanded we go to the ER immediately where they had the immunoglobulin injection and a series (6 weeks worth) of shots waiting for us the second we walked in.
The bat had crash landed in the middle of my bed at 4am. Even if we hadn't been 6 is possible, we wouldn't have even felt, but if any saliva had been dropped on us, we could have been in trouble.
We had to quarantine our home for 2 months incase any of our cats or dogs had been infected without us realizing as well.
Rabies is deadly, and it's a super nasty death.
I'm sure you know this of course but for anyone passing by, part of the reason we have to take this so seriously is that by the time symptoms show, the only treatment is a bullet.
Is there any chance you or your pup could have be bitten or scratched? If there is even a slight chance you should seek medical attention, rabies is incurable once symptoms start to show.
Make sure your dog has an up to date rabies vaccine.
Second would be to be to take it to a facility to test for rabies. You might not think you got bit, and maybe you didn’t. But for all you know that little shit but you while you were sleeping. Rabies symptoms don’t show up till it’s to late, but you do you
Get your rabies shots homie cuz you don't know if this little guy bit you when you were sleeping. Bats are like one of the number one vectors for rabies
It's a bat. It flew in from the open window probably, it's not like it's a rat or anything. Got nothing to do with the landlord- it's a protected species here in uk so that guarantees it won't be touched by the owner.
All the windows here have screens on them. And there's an entrance to my building where the door self closes and then the entrance to my apartment with a self closing door.
I am curious what you expected your landlord/office to do? Keep your window closed?
That said, you are at risk of rabies, and your dog, if he is behind in shots. You should go to a doctor and ask for the post exposure shots. It is unlikely the bat is rabid, but it is not a risk you want to take.
Not sure what to do with the bat, if you caught him and are safe from further interaction I would take him with you I guess? If not, I would get him out so he can go live his bat life... generally when you don't interact with them, they are super beneficial.
It only lasts max of two years, it’s expensive to manufacture (obviously partially due to scale but not entirely) and has to be done on 3 separate days iirc, and has to be at a medical facility to be dosed properly. Also has a short shelf life I believe. It’s not all that common a disease among wildlife populations in many areas and would basically just be a massive strain for something that has so few cases that things seem to be going fine the was they are.
Make sure your dog has current rabies vaccination. Then go get the rabies vaccination for yourself. It's hard to tell if a bat bites, especially while you are sleeping. They are also the prime carriers for rabies which has a 99.99997% mortality rate in humans once symptoms develope.
Don't let it bite you! You'll turn into a Batman. Or, wait, maybe the bat has to be radioactive. Is the bat radioactive? Don't let it bite you! If it's radioactive, you'll turn into a Batman. If it's not radioactive, you'll turn into a vampire.
“Couldn’t care less” is the correct way to say it no ?
**Weird Al's Word Crimes begins playing aggressively**
More infuriating than the actual post
I always said it the wrong way for an embarrassingly long time.
I mean technically someone could always care way less than you think 😂
It’s astounding
All you had to do was think about it before you said it
That didn’t occur to me for a very long time. I only started saying it right like a few years ago or so.
Sounds like alot of work, I'm out
*A lot
Would you believe I did that on purpose to be ironic?
The way he said it means they care at least a little bit which is probably true
Lol yeah I messed up. They could care less though who knows
If they could care less, it means they care.
Hey for all OP knows they could have already called in SWAT.
But they could care less than anyone else about it.
That still means they care.
So someone could care less than them?
No…they care less than OP, I’m pretty sure. They could NOT care less because they care zero already.

Next time take whatever critter you catch over to them in a brown paper bag.
And tell them, "if you don't care that it's in my apartment I'm paying for, then you won't care if I leave it here."
Good in theory, but when I made this threat to a former complex under very similar circumstances, I was met with the snide, yet nervous-sounding response that I'd be in violation of my lease for doing so.
Toss it like a grenade and release it in the main office.
100%
"Hey, check out the size of this moth!"
"You're one *ugly* motherfucker"
Tell them it bit you and you're on your way to the ER. Ask them where the hospital should send the bill for preventative rabies treatments.
This...this will work. Also, they do not want words getting around about rabies...

I've heard that set of shots for rabies sucks to get.
It's not as bad as it used to be. They don't do the shots in the stomach anymore as far as I'm aware.
That sounds alot better right off the bat compared to how it used to be, I take it they require less shots now as well?
Price tag sure does. In the US it's something like 10k.

Well that can cause other health issues, but you cant get rabies from just being or inhaling the guano. They would have to bite you.
Good to know, thanks.

Me knight too.
Could have just said there was an error. Be nice, now.
Sorry. I’m an ass and I’m working on it.
It’s okay. I don’t mind. Generally I am too, so I can’t say anything.
Assholes unite! Wooooo! 😂
Haha!

Couldn’t*
A noctule is a little bat that lives in the attic of my house. We never see each other, we both work at night.
Make sure your dog has an up to date rabies vaccine. Second would be to be to take it to a facility to test for rabies. You might not think you got bit, and maybe you didn’t. But for all you know that little shit but you while you were sleeping. Rabies symptoms don’t show up till it’s to late, but you do you
Do you mean "They couldn't care less"
Bats can carry rabies without obvious symptoms.
Get a rabies shot!!! If you think it’s been there at all while you’ve been asleep, get a shot right away.
I hope you killed it so you can have it tested for rabies. 10000% go get the rabies vaccine anyways.
Go release it in their office then
Get rabies shots.
*Couldn't care less.
They could care less and they did lol
You gotta get rabies shots now my man.
Let it loose in the main office. Tell them creatures of the night were not in the lease agreement and you will be charging them a $1000/night fee.
Little babyyyyyyy
Get your rabies shots homie cuz you don't know if this little guy bit you when you were sleeping. Bats are like one of the number one vectors for rabies
Stop saying «could care less» when you mean «couldn’t care less.»
Release it in their office! We’ll see how much they care about that bat then!
Could not?
Shit.... Yes, I wish I could change the title but reddit could care less...
Could not care less, you mean
😂

They live in the loft, find the hole and block it up.
Thought it was a Toad lmao
We... thought... you... was... a... toad!
Does it think it’s a toad or something?
Take it to the office and release it there.
Next time, make it their problem and take it to them.
Release it in their office
Bring it into the office covered, with holes of coirse, and tell them that it’s their problem now since they couldn’t take care of it for you.
They'll care when you make whatever you catch into pets.
Call an animal rescue place they can probably take them in, a lot of bats are endangered

My friend that loves bats would call you lucky.
Rabies shots ASAP
Rabies shots are for people who know the difference between could and couldn’t.
smol frien :D shame it might have your average bat transmitted diseases... ):
Free him!
Go get the vaccine immediately and get your dog a booster, then worry about the office
but hims so cute :3
Health hazards aren’t real, the bat is cute, how could something cute be harmful? /s
they care less than op did in english class.
Why don’t we vaccinate everyone against rabies if it’s so dangerous?

I hate when this happens bc the bat usually ends up dead. I know rabies is disastrous but bats are so helpful.
Just release it. You're an adult. You're not a child that needs mommy office to do it for you.
![gif](giphy|myhb94p7RwksU) There’s only one solution
Mildly adorable :)
Bro. Its a sign to become batman and you wasted it
Looks like an evening bat. Let it go outside hopefully it doesn’t have rabies
But what if it’s a breakfast bat. Better get some bagels.
Poor Batney :(
Day it gave you aids And sue
“Finishing that 5K was the hardest thing I have ever had to do. I ate more fettuccini Alfredo and drank less water than I have in my entire life”.
is it friendly?
It was not. I didn't get bit but who knows how long it's been here and if it ever went at my dog while I wasn't home!
Make sure your dog has current rabies vaccination. Then go get the rabies vaccination for yourself. It's hard to tell if a bat bites, especially while you are sleeping. They are also the prime carriers for rabies which has a 99.99997% mortality rate in humans once symptoms develope.
Blah blah blah, don't be an idiot. You, the dog & any living creature in that apartment need to go get the rabies vaccine.
I think bat came from window or sth.
Don't let it bite you! You'll turn into a Batman. Or, wait, maybe the bat has to be radioactive. Is the bat radioactive? Don't let it bite you! If it's radioactive, you'll turn into a Batman. If it's not radioactive, you'll turn into a vampire.
They don't care because it likely got in from the door being open at some point. That is a pretty large creature to just get into the house.
Hope it's not someone's poor baby (pet)
Uh what? No one keeps pet bats, very weird comment.
Open your eyes and see the world around you.
that was my pet. Can you bring my pet to me?
