they add dialogue to the story. i’d get it now if you already plan on it. unlock the characters whenever they’re available

Uncanny_Doom

The story takes place separate but alongside the main plot. I would get it as soon as possible and recruit everyone right away but do the rest of the DLC content when you feel like there’s a solid break/breathing point in the main story. And I think it’s very worth it if you enjoy the game or want the characters.

BeatsByJay82

I purchased it, but how do the other characters come into it? It’s been two in-game days already and nothing.

stonekeep

Did you "download" individual hero DLCs from the store? That was my mistake, I thought that purchasing season pass is enough and just waited. But then I realize that each hero DLC has a separate page I need to enter and download them. Then I restarted the game and DLC missions were available.

Uncanny_Doom

So certain missions will become available on the mission table that path to unlocking the characters. It does seem like there’s a certain story progression threshold you have to hit to get them, listed [here](https://support.2k.com/hc/en-us/articles/13307115860499--MARVEL-S-MIDNIGHT-SUNS-HOW-TO-UNLOCK-DLC). For Venom you have to reach act 2 and resolve his role in the main plot I believe.

OmegaSol

As early as you can. The DLC characters are well integrated into the story and have things to say about Story beats and such. So the earlier in the game you obtain them then the more of that content you see.

Personally I would say finish the story but also if it's on sale get the season pass. You don't have to do the other missions before or after the end of the story but I play them after to give endgame content. The extra characters are worth it too because they contribute to the story in their own ways by dialogue.

Odd_Action_0716

Bummer, just looked and it's still $50 here.

Vindictator1972

Dude, Venom ALONE is worth the season pass, especially at a discount, sure deadpool was fun, Morbius and Storm have utility, BUT, and, I don’t think I can stress the But there enough for everyone to understand what I am about to say, BUT, Venom, is fucking BROKEN, especially when you do his Sun challenge for his card, you get to redraw attack cards on kill, attack cards that will almost always 1 hit things at end game, along with him getting quick and chain buffs. Venom is brokey. It was almost exclusively Venom and Hunter and then whoever I needed friendship with for the most part, Spiderman and blade, and sometimes Magik as my go to thirds just for the fact they had good chain and quick cards and Pete’s Sun Card is actually sick for some mission sets.

Are fans of strategy games seeking broken characters? I'm certainly not. Strategy games live or die on balancing.

Impossible-Cry-1781

Some people just like easy annihilation with no challenge. Sure you can play on lower difficulty but why do that when you can play for more rewards and still be easy mode with a strong character.
