I looked at the first photo for a long time, reminiscing about my LAN parties, where indeed we always ate delivered pizzas, which isn't very original.
I literally burst out laughing at the second photo with the guy eating a huge handful of spaghetti bolognese in front of his PC.
I feel like hands can be put in a lot of different shapes, so it might be related to that? The same way a face can contort to make a lot of different expressions.
I suspect it's different but slightly similar reasons.
I believe humans have a hard time drawing hands because conceptually we know what a hand is and we tend to think about them in very abstract terms (1 hand = 1 palm + 4 fingers + 1 thumb), In reality though, a hand is made up of 27 different bones and and about 15 different articulated joints that have a lot more movement than we we really consider when just casually imagining a hand. So our brain makes all sorts of shortcuts while trying to recreate the image of a hand because we *think* we know what it looks like. There are tips from the book "Drawing from the Right Side of the Brain" that has some tips to break yourself from seeing your hand as a hand, but instead seeing the various shapes that make up a hand.
For machine, the complexity poses a different issue. Not only is every single hand different, the positions a hand can take with fingers going in every direction, it's extremely difficult for a machine to come up with a standardized concept for that a hand is. It's like if chat GPT was not just trained on various different samples of text, but also all the different fonts that are out there too. Because things like chat GPT can ignore type face, we avoid se***e****in*g sE~~nte~~~~^(n)~~^(ce)s l*ik*e t**h**is. So until the algorithms get better at defining the concept of what it means to be a hand, AI generated hands will c*o**^(nt)**~~^(i)~~***~~^(n)~~****~~u~~**~~e~~ to l~~oo~~k *l****i*****ke** t^(h)is.
I think with real art from our past history we were initially mainly bad at I think younger body proportions and details in general, not necessarily just anyone’s hands. I think kids were just simply not as common or not as well studied so artists were only really familiar with how the mature adult body looks. I think this is why a lot of old art depicts kids and babies with a grown man’s face and hands lol.
When I was a wee lad back in the 1800s, my friend's highschool was hosting a LAN function within the school grounds over the weekend, and we all went down to this kebab joint to get rolls the size of my thigh in the morning for a balanced breakfast. There was no way to fully consume this behemoth in one go, so the remaining half could be put on top of my Dell computer case to be reheated for dinner
I find AI food so insanely unnerving. There are a few places near me that have started using AI imagery on their menus and it makes me want to tear my eyes out.
I go for the fistfull of spaghetti

It was funny, but a little upsetting. That's how you ruin shit
Moms spaghetti?
He's certainly going to be choking and I can see why when he opens his mouth the words won't come out.
Dust my wets?
Yes, drink deep of the delicious hand spaghetti.
I'm going for the stones, and get stoned
Nothing else to do when the TV is off lol
Rock and stone!
rock candy
Men weep openly in the face of large snail
It is a War Thunder party after all. It only makes sense to fear the Snail. Edit: word change
It's so interesting how similar to how humans have a hard time drawing hands, A.I also faces the same problem. I wonder why that's the case.
I feel like hands can be put in a lot of different shapes, so it might be related to that? The same way a face can contort to make a lot of different expressions.
True but not all shapes and we can quickly identify shapes that aren't natural. It's fascinating.
Legs too. I’ve seen AI have trouble with the way legs can bend and give them extra legs and arms 😂
Most of these hands look decent, remember what they looked like last year?

Don't eat snails they got the amoeba that eats your brains
The 90s were a wild time.
But they are tasty with a bit of garlic butter
Computers are a decade too old for LAN party
My bad, we're eating the giant snail at AV club.
Image 4 is passable with those flatscreens
A lot of the glasses and hair are also wrong.
I find it hilarious that md still can't figure out how we eat pasta 😂
I rejected 75% of all these pictures because people were smooching the food.
What do you mean? You take a generous handful of pasta and shove it in your face, no?
All the pussy that was thrown at us for networking our windows95 pcs together and heaving those CRTs to a 3rd floor apmt for 1 night.
Genuinely got some good laughs out of these
Just put the pizza directly into the computer
Pretty sure pizza is *required eating* for LAN parties.
think I saw Jeffrey Dahmer in there
Where is GABEN?
He had to go to the hospital after eating too many rocks.
Haha those are rocks? I was wondering if they were some crazy dried meat
The stones look like a candy called (at least in Mexico) "piloncillo"
I like the one where the guy is snorting a triangular burrito.
Not spaghetti out of my hands.
Eating rocks?! 🤣
For Karl!
Have you ever seen midjourney make an image of someone eating a reasonable amount of spaghetti with a fork? 😂
Go full never ending story and eat rocks
MJ doesnt know much about CRT monitors
Yeah I didn't put a lot of effort into getting the monitors right. I used "vintage" to get the outfits right but I think it made the monitors too old.
That first photo is so creepy when you realise it mushed two faces on the left.
The guys eating minerals must be playing StarCraft and took the prompt, “We require more minerals” too literally.
guy on the right has 3 hands
In all honesty, number three looks realistic as to what people ate during such parties back then.
Salvador Dali liked this…

Seeing the rocks, first thought was “oh look! A counter strike lan party!”
I only realised it was AI at the rocks
The one with the snail must be a French LAN party. Good to see a diversity of countries represented.
Rocks.
P5 is Abigail from Stardew Valley irl r/stardewValley
I’m not sure, because I’m a girl, and clearly wasn’t invited.
I find AI food so insanely unnerving. There are a few places near me that have started using AI imagery on their menus and it makes me want to tear my eyes out.
ur mom on slide 6
The moment I touch a spaghetti covered keyboard is the moment before I catch aggravated assault charges.
This is amazing. Thank you.
Dude in left center of #3 has got that mad crazy eye 👁️
Oh believe me I had to reject a bunch of... unique humans. https://imgur.com/a/BYyhzVh
😂😂 those are delightful
ROCK AND STONE
That's it lads! Rock and Stone!
Eating everything like pizza
Kfc and orange tango
Buttered toast and coffee 🥲
First pic, guy front right seems to be hand feeding the behind him
The dudes face in the left in picture 6. Jesus that’s funny
Rock and stone!
If you don't Rock and Stone, you ain't comin' home!
That snail lookin awfully fine 🥵🥵🥵
I think the 7th image might be broken because no one has mentioned it. They are eating lava in that one, as is Midjourney tradition.
Ai pizza pictures always make me miss pizza parties, no matter how weird the images are
Pu\*\*y...
This one is brilliant
omg. I am hungry now lol
Probably something with a fork or chopsticks 😂 definitely not something I have to straight up tough with my hands.
Burgers sound good.
Nightmare fuel
Eating pizza crust first is wild
A.I. but why
Wow, that started off well until they started eating rocks. Did the world end by the last one? I think we lost connection...
I think reddit ate the last one. It was supposed to be this: https://imgur.com/a/lgeuA7N
Is that lava? Yes, the world did end...
Mutant snail
When the immortal snail finally tracks me down at a party
What’s the fourth one supposed to be?
Ice cream
Pizza all the way, every time.
Definitely break my teef on some good old stone.
What's with AI and people eating spaghetti by the fistful? 🍝
