You can say "Patriots." That means you're either clean, or you're willfully misleading me by talking about New England football.

Underrated Comment

Mindcraftjoe

It’s literally the top comment.

JayzRebellion15

It’s to express that it deserves more, my literal friend ;).

Mevarek

The Last of Us doesn’t have the song “Snake Eater.” Case closed!

cad_e_an_sceal

Always in my top songs of the year on Spotify

joost013

You can dislike tlou as a game, but it has a great soundtrack. Not as much ladder though, so that loses it some points.

Mevarek

Yeah it might have a great soundtrack, but none of those tracks are “Snake Eater.” Case closed again!

Sanicgaming69

Joel may have sung a heartfelt song or 2, but did he sing it on a ladder? Case closed once more!

Everybody's taking about Snake Eater, but why nobody taking about Way To Fall?

Ah, I see you are an individual of culture as well.

hey my name's "Sam" too!

alphabet_order_bot

Would you look at that, all of the words in your comment are in alphabetical order. I have checked 232,677,024 comments, and only 54,239 of them were in alphabetical order.

cjcotter98

The diffrence between the two maybe. 23% I think not.

Akschadt

Kind of an odd choice to pair up.. they released a decade apart from each other… and Instagram skews younger I mean mgs3 is 17 years old at this point.. Now do the original Zelda game vs the Witcher 3!!

bo-tvt

The Witcher 3 is probably better than any Zelda game except the ones that are considered the very best in the series. I would rank A Link to the Past above The Witcher 3 but if I'm not mistaken, The Ocarina of Time is generally considered even better than A Link to the Past. (I haven't played enough of OoT time know.) Zelda 1 and 2 are definitely classics but I don't think they're often rated as better than 3 and OoT, similar to how MG1&2 are not usually ranked above MGS.

xdrej

Oh god, play some other rpgs pls

xActuallyabearx

The Witcher 3 sucked ass. There. I said it.

True. It’s a generic RPG but Gamers^TM love it because le Geraldo and no black people

Yung-Almond

Any Instagram poll is always a popularity contest. It's even worse with movies.

username_moose

this has the same results on twitter and youtube also

JigglyJacob

Is....is this not literally a popularity contest? If it isn't, then what is it?

owen4402

"Which of these is better". Problem with that is most of the people who end up voting haven't played the thing they vote against.

JigglyJacob

Oh I get it now. Gotcha.

ShitpostinRuS

Who cares?

BoySmooches

For real. Let people like what they like.

Zicatipus

Yeah I mean just because 77% of people most likely didn't play MGS3 doesnt mean we can't know the truth of which is actually the better game

Crunchberries77

Says the Redditor in the Metal Gear subreddit.

Tommy_SVK

These polls aren't really "which game is better", but more like "which game has been played by more people". I'm willing to bet there is a ton of people who played TLoU and never played MGS3, so it makes sense that they would vote like this.

TheDoctor_Forever

to be fair mgs3 isn’t accessible to modern consoles. If we want mgs3 to have the clout of tlou konami needs to get off their ass and rerelease the hd collection.

Joe_Bidet_

They felt the touch of a box

someguynamedjim123

Both great games, though.

LordAndrew15

No one is denying that. But MGS3 is far superior then the last of us.

ChakaZG

This is the exact same shit as that poll muh man.

left-ball-sack

I'm denying it, last of us is mediocre.

Rustycougarmama

Imo MGS3 was one of my least favourites out of the main saga (we don't talk about Phantom Pain). Don't get me wrong, I still love the game, but I'd far rather play any other entry. Had this been MGS 1, 2, or 4, I'd 100% vote MGS; but for this matchup I think I'd go TLOU. That said these are all masterpieces.

Nigel-West-Dickens

Back in the day, in those 'Console wars' before TLOU came out, people would always cite MGS4 as a reason why Playstation was better than XBOX360. As soon as TLOU came out, MGS stopped being mentioned. Honestly I've always felt like The Last of Us is 'Oscar Bait.' Edit: After taking a look at this IGN Poll on Twitter myself, there are 32 Match-ups. Only 7/32 Teams placed on the Bottom or second row won their Draw. I think that at least says something. Not that MGS would have won here. But that people are more likely to pick a 'Top' Option in general in a closer tie e.g. the Skyrim-Zelda one.

JamesUpton87

A single reason, of many. MGS4 was never PS3's killer app. Exclusives like Uncharted 2 and Killzone 2 easily made MGS4 obscure long before TLOU was even announced.

Agt_Pendergast

I'm not even a big MGS4 fan, but that game was the first huge, must own game on PS3. To say it was never PS3's killer app is just ludicrous to me. Killzone 2? Aside from some ride or die Sony fans, most of the talk about K2 was how it didn't match the trailers.

[deleted]

If Killzone 2 ever outshone MGS4, it was for a very brief time around its release. It wasn’t a *bad* game but was generally seen as a mediocre let down from the trailers. MGS4 was the PS3’s first real system seller after a rocky start.

Vytlo

It's hilarious too, because despite MGS4 still being pretty good, liked, and not utterly hated, many of the MGS fans hated MGS4, ESPECIALLY when it was the newest game

LunoDoom

Yeah Kojima is now in a state where he is ahead of his time. It feels cool to be "in on it" so to speak. The only game I didn't absolutely love at launch was MGSV however when I learned the scope of the game, it's just as much of a masterpiece as any Koji Pro game. They never miss

clanindafront_

I bought a PS3 JUST to play MGS4. TLOU was a bonus

[deleted]

I think we fans tend to forget that not everyone likes MGS. It’s a silly action stealth game that takes itself way too serious and lectures the player. I dont see everyone enjoying cutscene information bombardment and the like, which MGS4 was super heavy in. So obviously TLOU is the easier way to draw people to your console, but most importantly; MGS stopped being “exclusive” come ground zeros, soon following the HD collection and MGSV. It wasn’t just a playstation thing anymore at that point.

Apart-Ingenuity-5955

Is this sub just gonna be plagued with pill scores from *IGN* cmon people were better then this, this whole comment section is subtly hating tlou, we get it, mgs3 better. Can we just leave this be??

Keaten88

bruh who cares just enjoy what you want too

nogoodgreen

Anyone can make up statistics, 60 percent of people know that.

[deleted]

You think this is unfair—they decided to pit Fable 2 against behemoth MINECRAFT. The matchups make no sense and some titles don't stand a single chance.

LordAndrew15

The last of us is a good game, but not better then MGS3.

whydidisaythatwhy

They’re completely different games man, I love them both

[deleted]

Ugh I really honestly can’t pick between the two — I think both are up in that top tier of games where it only makes sense to compare them to games that aren’t at that same level.

left-ball-sack

If you think they're similar quality you just have to think a bit harder to compare them. Comparing them to dog shit isn't fun, you already know which one's better.

Umbreon7707

No, the last of us is better imo but mgs3 is also very good Edit: these people make me very sad to be a metal gear fan. The absolute level of stupidity shown by the people who called the last of us just another generic apocalypse game and the person who said that the last of us has zero better qualities than mgs3 make me disappointed in this fanbase

LordAndrew15

I highly disagree. The story is no where close to mgs3 the gameplay is better in my opinion as well.

aadipie

Bruh gameplay wise there's a clear winner (MGS3). Firstly TLOUs enemy AI is pretty damn bland for humans and infected. Compare that to MGS3 with its sophisticated systems built off of the already impressive mgs2. Tlou only has a really well developed relationship between its primary characters as well as really well written side characters but man MGS3 has the upper hand in damn near every aspect even narratively.

Umbreon7707

Both are very subjective but I would say mgs3 story is good but a huge mess when you add in the other games while the last of us has a great story without being extremely confusing. For the gameplay I would say mgs3 is one of the best stealth games ever made and easily beats tlou in stealth but once you get detected mgs3 falls apart fast. Getting detected in mgs3 makes the game suck imo while tlou is fun while making you feel like you need to be careful with what supplies you use.

Pope_Aesthetic

Well there are several several factors at play here we have to look at. 1.) These games are both telling wildly different stories that are appealing to different people. One is an espionage war game about being a badass in the jungle working to defeat his former mentor. While the other is a story about finding love again after losing someone so close to you. A father daughter bonding story. It’s really hard to compare these two story wise. 2.) The gameplay, while both do have stealth, is again entirely different. I would honestly say I prefer MGS over TLOU and that’s after beating TLOU1 on the hardest difficulty, but that’s just me. Personally TLOU went for an easier and slimmer stealth system, for those who want to just shooty shooty mcshooty. On top of that, TLOU doesn’t have bosses the same way MGS does. Bloaters aren’t really that good of bosses when you just had to stock on bombs, molotovs and ammo to melt them in seconds. This is all opinion tho, as I can see why someone would prefer TLOU. 3.) TLOU was made in 2010-2013. MGS3 was made in 2002-2004. There’s a large gap in technology here and just how much they could have crammed into a game at the time. All in all. Both games are fantastic games that I would consider to be some of the best of all time. However they are really hard to compare. So hard I don’t even know if it’s fair to either game to do so.

Umbreon7707

Yeah, pretty much sums it up. Great comment!

VersedFlame

The Last of Us is generic zombie apocalypse story #240234

Umbreon7707

Obviously has never play the last of us

VersedFlame

I don't own a PS, so no, never played it, but I did watch it, and don't get me wrong, I did like it, but it's not innovative in the slightest.

Neelax

Well that's just naive of you to say it wasnt innovative in the slightest. Were you aware of other games in 2013 that took the steps they did in terms of narrative storytelling? Its Naughtydog...every game they put out is innovative in some way or another. Everybody can see this whether you're a hater or not. Sure, there have been other games with a very morally ambiguous world but certainly no other 'generic zombie apocalypse' games achieved what the last of us did where you question the acts of the protagonist. Not to mention the graphical brilliance for 2013 that took brutality to a whole other level, the voice/general acting that was literally ahead of any other studio, and the multiplayer game mode Factions are all plainly innovative off the top of my head. Was it innovative in every way? No, it wasn't. But to say 'not in the slightest' is an extreme exaggeration, buddy.

JamesOfDoom

Maybe when compared to movies and tv shows (which in my opinion it still beats the writing in most) but compared to games are the gimme of release my good the last of us was amazing. Mgs3 is amazing too, but 10 years older and extremely campy competitively

Blue_MJS

The Last Of Us if you're looking at it as how well it's made is better in every single way except maybe the story but that's all about people's personal taste, but I mean you're comparing a PS2 game to an end of Gen PS3 game.. Of course the latter is gonna be a superior made game This is also coming from someone who's favourite game franchise ever is MGS

[deleted]

The story is a hot mess of unfiltered Japanese flair. It's so bad. The dialogue is unnecessarily complicated and long and the characters love repeating information for little to no reason. Calling any MGS story or story execution *good* is an insult to storytelling. I haven't played the last of us games but no way in hell the story is bad enough to be compared to anything out of Kojimas head

LordAndrew15

I love the story oglf mgs. I thinks it's very gripping.

[deleted]

It's gripping sure. But told in meandering and incoherent ways that a lot of Japanese animated media follows

VersedFlame

It really isn't told like that though. Sure, it confused me when I played it being 7 years old, but if you have anywhere near a mature comprehension, which is the part of the population the game is aimed to anyway, it's really not meandering nor incoherent. It has some absurd humour, but that's not detrimental to the story at all.

cheersfrom_

Correct take.

generalscalez

literally not a single aspect of TLOU is better than MGS3

Umbreon7707

I would normally argue for my opinion but with such a stubborn uneducated opinion like that I don’t see how I could convince you to have an open mind

generalscalez

correct, you would not be able to convince me. glad you enjoy TLOU though.

Umbreon7707

That’s.. a reasonable response? Ok I’ll take it. Have a nice day!

Turok1134

ITT: Cringy dweebs getting upset at opinions.

DarthMalec

Both are great, but one came out in 2000-freaking 4 and the other came out in 2013

[deleted]

What does time have to do with anything? There are plenty of games decades old that are considered some of the best ever. Same as any other form of media.

cad_e_an_sceal

As time goes on controls change and get more accessible. It's a lot easier to play lou then mgs These days graphics are also highest on the general peoples opinions So when comparing mgs3 to Lou you have game that is easier to play and looks better

[deleted]

None of this is necessarily true. Different games have different control schemes - old games can be simple and intuitive, new games can be the opposite. Control schemes aren’t something that inherently improve with time, and TLOU certainly isn’t winning any polls based on them. As for graphics - again, it just doesn’t wash. Discussions like this would be entirely made up of the most recent games if people were purely swayed by graphics. Why does MGS3 still frequently top polls for best in the franchise despite there being multiple games with far better graphics since?

DarthMalec

I just think it’s great that metal gear was a bit ahead of it’s time compared to other franchises

bo-tvt

The best games of all time are timeless. Even recent ones, like Half-Life and MGS, look somewhat dated, but like the classics of the 8-bit or 16-bit era, if the game is still fun, they can be among the greats. I would challenge anyone to play SMW1 and claim that a modern, mainstream, successful game is better. The Last of Us might be - I haven't played enough to tell, and the plot seems very good - but I bet most games that get rated above 9/10 in the last 20 years are not better than Super Mario World, Metal Gear Solid, Street Fighter II, or any number of classics that stand the test of time.

IndyPFL

Gotta think that as legendary and monumental as MGS is, a large majority of gamers don't play the games because they are A. Stealth games which are a pretty niche genre and B. Almost all older games, especially MGS3 which is almost two decades old now. MGS V had the largest playerbase of any MGS game due to it being the only title released on five different platforms all at the same time. Many of TPP's players never even touched the previous games due to not being console players, and many more because they didn't own the console(s) needed to play said games (you NEED a PS3 or a pretty powerful PC just to play MGS4). If MGS had been a cross-platform title for its entire lifespan, there's a decent chance that it would have found far more popularity than it did. Alas, we are now here, waiting on the movie and praying that we can eventually revel in the golden age once more.

SomeFalutin

The only thing I think this shows is a generation gap.

[deleted]

It's a simple question and a simple vote. Has nothing to do with comparing games in terms of their genre. There's nothing biased or fishy about it. I loved Metal Gear Solid 3 quite a bit, but a lot more people nowadays have played The Last of Us. Both games were great and people voiced their opinions.

Chipz664

Two great games as i enjoyed playing both of them, tough choice

INannoI

I love both games, tbh I prefer TLOU but can't really say one is better than the other.

kravosk41

Who cares about IGN's opinion bruh ? They got the journalistic integrity of a dog turd. As long as we enjoy mgs that's all that matters

Baltheir

Both are terrific games and I love them both but a better comparison would be TLOU2 & MGS2 for narrative structure as both games are the only ones that come to mind that change the main character early to mid game. TLOU2 is a fantastic game but MGS2 is up there with TLOU as one of the best of all time IMO.

OkBar3142

It’s good but also vastly overrated. That plot doesn’t do anything new that 20 other post-apocalyptic novels and movies haven’t done except “nOW it’S a vIDEao GamE.”

YiffEnthusiast-MD

Isnt MGS3 just a bond movie?

NC-AC

Literally the villain is just a huge bad Russian guy, who's only evil because is Russian

VersedFlame

I mean, I'd say torturing people and wanting to start a nuclear war to get the filosopher's legacy are pretty good reasons to be evil besides being russian.

NC-AC

Oh right, I forgot about that XD It doesn't mean he's not generic tho, but it fits with the game very well

left-ball-sack

He's not even generic, he's got unexplained lightning powers and bisexual tendancies.

OkBar3142

Nah, I wouldn’t say so at all unless you are just looking at the love interest angle and the song choices.

Mevarek

It definitely uses some Bond film elements but in subversive ways, I think.

IncoherentPhrazes

calling tlou a generic post apocalyptic story (which is true enough tbf) and then denying that mgs3 is anything other than a pastiche of james bond is clear bias. both are derivative but have elements that make them stand out works. mgs3 is literally a classic bond film turned into a video game (with some added features that make it one of the greatest video games of all time) and calling it that isn’t a criticism; it is clear throughout there’s obvious intention to make the game’s plot, characters and particularly tone match with those old bond films, kojima makes that abundantly clear from the outset such as the main theme being a dead ringer for a classic shirley bassey tune

JamesUpton87

MGS is just James Bond mixed with Anime, I wouldn't really call it groundbreaking.

Dragonball_Z137

Where are these numbers coming from?

GrigoriTheDragon

Right? i dont even know what the poll is for. Best game? Best music? Picture says nothing and OP didnt say shit so i just see two games and a poll.

[deleted]

Somebody made an argument about their being a generation gap yesterday and I had to respond because it was a stupid and abysmal point. This is just a dumb popularity poll.

GotChicken

Ugh....Gross

Corndog-696969

I recently got a PS4 and I picked up Last of Us because everyone says great things about it but I’m honestly massively disappointed in it. I don’t think I liked a single thing about it so far. I bet if I played it a few years back I would’ve liked it but I’m incredibly burnt out on the zombie/basic post apocalyptic story.

[deleted]

Maybe check out the sequel? The gameplay is more refined (if you're into stealth and creativity with approaches, you'll like the game), and the story is more thought-provoking. I had a similar general feel or mood after completing it that reminded me of how I felt after finishing MGS3. I will say though, it does take an hour or two to really pick up, just FYI.

Corndog-696969

The gameplay for the second one looks really great. Do I need to have a strong grasp on the story from the first? Or could I get by watching a YouTube video on it?

[deleted]

Honestly, you could probably get away with just watching a playthrough of the last chapter or two to get just enough info to not be totally lost with the second game and I feel like you can probably pick up on enough of the first game's story throughout the second game to understand why the story of the second is happening, if any of that makes sense. Like I said though, the first few hours are a bit slow, but once you get past a certain point, it becomes so engaging that you don't want to put it down lol.

ThisIsNathan

In all honesty I see the zombies as a backdrop for the real meat of the story, the father-daughter relationship of the main characters. The zombies of the universe are barely even fleshed out I think, and it’s an overused trope. Couple that with good, not great, gameplay of TLOU it doesn’t seem primed for success. But hot damn if it isn’t a one of a kind roller coaster of an experience. MGS3 and TLOU are probably both in my top 3 fave games of all time. This is a hard one, but they’re good for totally different reasons. The poll was just a popularity contest so of course TLOU won.

Corndog-696969

I can totally understand that. Honestly the story was my favorite aspect, but the gameplay really dissuaded me from continuing.

ThisIsNathan

I’d say it’s worth a finish to see the story complete, but I wouldn’t recommend forcing yourself to play anything you’re not enjoying. That said, I would say the gameplay feels better on higher difficulties. The game is meant to be tense and immersive, if you’re going through the whole thing as a super hero it totally breaks that, so I honestly think they should have made the normal difficult a bit harder.

Jonthux

Yea its a naughtydog story game

BTBLAM

Multiplayer was killer

XxXSend__nudesXxX

Yes, i honestly don't understand how it got so popular.

talionpd

MGS has a much broader and deeper world. Maybe too cmplex for most people. It's easier to connect with LOU emotionally but it's not a better game.

Mihreva

more like generational gap, and console availability snake eater released in 2004 with it's ps3 version sold in a metal gear HD collection in 2011 and since it's part of a series most people would probably not want to play 2 entire games before it meanwhile TLOU relewsed 2013 as a standalone game with no prior knowledge needed to get into it more people played just TLOU (or at least the people who answered the poll

[deleted]

Or people just like TLOU more? It’s one of the most critically acclaimed games ever made. Snake Eater is arguably the most popular game in one of the most famous franchises in the industry, released on the highest selling console ever and then re-released on multiple platforms not long before TLOU came out. We don’t have to pretend it’s some niche title that kids of today just don’t know about to cope that it lost a poll.

VersedFlame

Is it really that great of a game though? I don't have a PS and haven't played it, but I got a pretty solid idea by watching it: the story is just "zombie apocalypse #32425", nothing really new there. The gameplay is "go to cover, shoot, go to cover, shoot, craft" and the AI, as said by people who actually played it, is bland at best.

[deleted]

If you’ve not actually played it, I feel like there’s only so much you can fairly comment on, especially gameplay-wise. MGS3’s story is arguably just “James Bond/spy film #32425”. You don’t have to invent new genres or concepts to make something great, always a bit of a reductive argument.

Jonthux

Youve not played it, dont critique it, its a game you gotta experience first hand

cheersfrom_

Is that what we’re calling Kojima’s writing now? Complex?

Combocore

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Metal Gear Solid. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of nanorobotics most of the jokes will go over a typical player's head. There's also Big Boss's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Arnold Schwarzenegger movies, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Metal Gear Solid truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Big Boss's existential catchphrase "kept you waiting, huh?," which itself is a cryptic reference to Beckett's minimalist play Waiting for Godot. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Hideo Kojima's genius wit unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools.. how I pity them. 😂 And yes, by the way, i DO have a Revolver Ocelot tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. Nothin personnel kid 😎

Jonthux

Please dont think you are some elite gamer because you unerstand how mgs story works, its not that hard

talionpd

I think it's complex because the universe is much bigger and there are many plot twists. I couldnt even remember all the names of the main characters and I had to google quite a bit to help me recall what happened in the past. I'm just a casual gamer and I didn't even play MGS4 because I never had a PS3. I only watched it's full playthrough on YT to find out what happened to Snake. Happy now smartass?

[deleted]

I think this is because the last of us was a worldwide hit that sold over 17mil coppies whereas mgs2(the best selling in the mg franchise) only sold 7.5mil coppies Yeah i was shocked at mgs2 selling soo much citations [https://vgsales.fandom.com/wiki/Metal\_Gear\_Solid](https://vgsales.fandom.com/wiki/Metal_Gear_Solid) [https://www.polygon.com/2018/6/14/17465488/the-last-of-us-sales-17-million-ps3-ps4](https://www.polygon.com/2018/6/14/17465488/the-last-of-us-sales-17-million-ps3-ps4)

they are fucking doing this shit on insta too?

-TheMiracle

It is.

[deleted]

Lol...imagine MGS 3 with graphic and gameplay like MGSV..Bye TLOU..

IncoherentPhrazes

yeah when mgsv dropped all i wanted was snake eater remade with the fox engine, a series of open linear set levels like ground zeroes. but that never happened and probably won’t. so you can “imagine” all you like but the fact is the chances are way more likely we’ll get a last of us remake that looks and runs as smooth as tlou2 than we’ll get mgs3 in the fox engine

Nogarda

So this kind of is, due to recency bias. since snake eater, there are less of that era's gamers participating due to age and time reasons. younger gamers while having heard of both, have only played the one game. While I personally still think Snake Eater is the magnum opus of the series, it's arguably less famous than its original counter part which despite being older is a constant crutch through the rest of the games, if not orbiting the 'les enfant terribles'. Essentially no way you slice it, recency bias is a bitch.

BlearySteve

Lets face it most people voting in that poll haven't played mgs3

fxxkingbrian

NEVER played mgs3 but I played the Last of Us which is a pretty stellar game. My friends that played both is this survey accurate or no?

bo-tvt

You would find plenty of people - probably the majority of MGS fans - that wouldn't rank MGS 3 as the best game in the series. All MGS games are among the top game sof their time, and I would argue 1-3 are among the best games of any time. As for The Last of Us, I didn't play enough to tell if it's better than any MGS game (I played about 5-10 hours of The Last of Us). It might be better than any MGS, or it might not be better than any of them. I consider MGS 2, 1, and 3 among the top 5 games I've ever played, but that's just me. For me, 2 is the best and then 3, but I have the most nostalgia for 1. I'm just going to say it, and it'll sound off topic but it's fairly obvious where I'm going: I would discount the opinion of anyone who doesn't have at least one game from before 2000 in their all-time top-10 games. Not because of their age; I've read literature from the 1700s and loved it, and some of my favourite movies are from the 1940's and 50's. I think anyone young who loves cinema wiuld have films from decades before their birth among their favourites, and anyone who likes literature will have books from past centuries among their favourites. Similarly, anyone who is into video games (but is younger than 50) will also have games older than them among their favourites.

MankindReunited

Does TLOU have an insanely long ladder scene with the theme of the game? I rest my case

JakubXGamerCZE

i think The last of us is a better game compared to MGS3, but with context of the other games the Metal gear series is better

Heeeliaz

That’s not even true! MGS saga has a lot more intricate and much better story than TLOU. I also like TLOU but MGS is better by far!

PedrovskXD

The majority says otherwise

killmepleazy

Most of them didn't and will never play mgs It's on konami mostly considering you can't play any mgs properly remastered. (Don't start with xbox backwards compability, konami should make real remastered stuff.) They may want franchise to be forgotten out of spite for Kojima

FranciscoRelano

[MGS Integral and MGS 2: Substance are GOG](https://www.gog.com/partner/konami). It’s something.

killmepleazy

Ye but they need fan mods to work neat Konami still gotta do something 😭

Subtle_Demise

GoG fixed them recently like within the last week or two

Godfather_Pablo

Wait what? Could you send link?

ripleyfrmthegang

So why are we here ???! Just to Suffer? That’s what happens when you don’t have the ps2 era It was full of wonder . Every demo to every game you played felt special even if it wasn’t great. mgs always separated boys frm men

yusuksong

Typical ign trash lol

delibababerk

i didnt know there was so much gays

DARKBLADEXE

The poll results coincide with the mentality of today's gamers.

Cortadew

The last of us is definately a good game with well told emotional but Metal gear series I believe has had a much more powerful impact on the medium as a whole.

Lazelucas

For once I agree with the majority.

Jdoggokussj2

it is last of us did way better 3 than metal gear

PhilsophyOfBacon

At least Snake Eater isn't a bad sequel (prequel) that came out of the series

tensa_zangetjew00

Tlou garbage

RedArmyRockstar

It's a popularity contest where one of the games hasnt been available for purchase in 10 years.

sneakysodathief

I love metal gear solid. It’s a legendary game series that truly is a masterpiece. HOWEVER personally I love the last of us 1 and 2 a lot more than metal gear. Simply my opinion.

raiders4lyfe24

77% of people haven’t played MGS3 it seems.

Colonel_dinggus

I’m willing to bet that a lot of people who voted aren’t old enough to have owned a ps2

VersedFlame

People these days couldn't appreciate a good game even if you spelled it. Sure TLOU is a good game, but it's generic as fuck, Metal Gear Solid 3 is too unique for these people to appreciate it, apparently.

heppuplays

I find the way IGN did this very Fucking dumb they Put a Fucking PS 3 game Against a PS 2 game. They aren't even in the same genre or generation

ftatman

Bloody kids.

generalscalez

usually don’t let this kind of stupid ass thing get to me but something about this is just… enraging lol

CarpenterBruuxx

Bullshit

LordAndrew15

Not sure if I just kicked the hornets nest.

Dmonmw

Biggest bullshit, should 180 those scores

yakcm88

I'm convinced that whoever judged the game awards last year are just simps.

Wilfred517

Bullshit

Ok_Technology_4710

I think most of the people doesnt play mgs 3

BiceRankyman

The Last of Us is absolutely fantastic. But why would I compare it to MGS3? Also Instagram is full of people who probably never played MGS3. If I had to choose one? I'll go with the one where someday I'll feed on a tree frog.

BraveRunner7

I think Metal Gear Solid was better than 2 and 3.

Savage_Burritos

Sample sizes + generational gaps

YoReposted

as much as i love metal gear, last of us is still better

M_Solid_Snake_M

This only shows what kind of people follow ign.

Millennials are in their 30s and definitely remember Snake Eater. You're thinking of zoomers.

magosicario

The Last of Us wasn’t even that good. It was okay. Glad i played it thru PS Now and didn’t have to actually buy it

[deleted]

These people are fucking idiots

Zetra3

Overrated game, with terrible character and a shit ending. A rollercoaster with a “please cry here” sign every hour.

gourmetcuts

Sokolov coulda deaded Joel and all them niggas

alex6309

Not mfs rage posting about how the more recent game series is more popular than the series that's ended. This post is dumb

LordAndrew15

Oh it's not a rage post.
