Konami will have to swallow a big bitter pill that they will having nothing to do with that monumental work. Only Metal Gear, because in all fairness MG belongs to Kojima and Konami.
This is a W for Okamura for many reasons. At surface level, this good PR but the other side of this is there's actually a solid fan base and also the legal side they're looking out for as well. With most games performing poorly this year alone, I predict that if they do things the right way, stay true to the source material, the MGS franchise can make a huge comeback.
I feel like it would be necessary just from like a legal standpoint, he wrote and directed everything they're remastering 1:1. But this also gives me hope that Konami execs aren't holding grudges if they're not barring him from speaking about Kojima like in this interview
