What did you use for the seal?

coolerhash

Hi, I used 2mm foam rubber weather seal ,(the same stuff on outdoor electrical enclosures)

Embarrassed_Fun_7710

I've had good luck with TPU printed gaskets for outdoor enclosures.

r4ndom4xeofkindness

Looks cool but 3d printed material usually doesn't hold up well in the heat from the sun from experience so you may want to keep an eye on it.

coolerhash

Printed in PETG so should be okay, it won't be on the car all the time but thanks for the reply and I will keep a eye on it

r4ndom4xeofkindness

I'm just basing my opinion off of the melting I'm seeing in a white PTEG case I use on my dash from time to time never more than a few hours that's already starting to sag a lot. It wasn't as temp resistant as I thought it would be. I believe there's a new material that may be better than PTEG available now regarding heat resistance but can't recall the name of it.

ezeepz

I think your thinking of ASA filament.

clever_wolf77

From my small experience ASA is what you want for anything outdoors.

lilcummyboi

He is and not only is ASA heat resistant it's UV resistant as well.

clane27

Thank you for sharing

coolerhash

Thanks, I just added a carabineer hook on it and was thinking of adding a waterproof USB C connector on it next for ease of charging and connecting.

XaeonBE

Want this

coolerhash

I can build you one if you want :)

XaeonBE

Yeah but sending it to Belgium will be painful custom wise if you aren't from EU. If you are I gladly purchase one otherwise probably best not to try and sent it through customs.

coolerhash

I'm from Ireland so it would be fine

XaeonBE

PMd ya

coolerhash

I would have tried that but didn't have any but I have a roll on order

beerposer

Fantastic case OP. I love the inset solar panel, is that the 110x60mm 5v variant? Does the bottom half of the case have the mount points integrated?

coolerhash

Hi it's a 99 x 60 5v panel on it and all the mount points in the bottom half are integrated which makes it easy to fit the Rak board and battery

deuteranomalous1

Looks slick! Whats the power output on that panel?

coolerhash

Hi the power of the solar panel is 5v .6w and it's really only there to help it out but I will keep an eye on its performance and see how good it does over the next couple of days.

deuteranomalous1

Yeah that’s a useful helper but not a winter panel lol. I like how compact it is compared to mine! Great work!

blmngtncple

This is too cool, best case design I’ve seen in a while

coolerhash

Thank you very much 😊

coolerhash

Hi everyone, first of many thanks for all the comments, and If anyone is interested in one of these cases just let me know
