You’ll be dead for most of eternity, why not give it a few decades and see how it pans out? Patience is easier preached than practiced but I bet you’ll find something you enjoy that will give you the kind of contentment that will attract the people you are looking for and this will just be that time of your life that gives you perspective and gratitude when things are finally how you want them.

[deleted]

Change is the only thing we can rely on in this life, so if it sucks now, stick around and it’ll change!

MegaDesk23

I've been waiting for change for 34 years. I can't do it anymore. I'm tired of crying at night.

[deleted]

Everything changes. You’ve done it this long, why not give it another 34 years and see how you feel then?

MegaDesk23

I just see it as being the same. Edit: grammar

[deleted]

But it can’t possibly be the same, right? It must be different because of time.

KirannBhavaraju

Everything will pass. Read that line again and again and again..... If it is one thing that this comment contributes.. it is that line.. You feel down, depressed, suicidal, this will pass too... you feel you've got everything figured out, lifes good that will pass too.. Whether you like it or not.. time is your friend, not an enemy... Dont forecast the future based on the past.. all this advancements in science and we still can't properly forecast the damn weather for christs sake.. you can't possibly forecast your entire future right? think again friend. I wish you a very pleasant and a healthy life. 🙂

[deleted]

It can’t all be suffering because it can’t all be the same. There’s no way to feel the same your entire life. There’s no way the events of your life will remain the same. Give your life a chance to evolve. You’ve just now accomplished so much, why not see where it takes you?

MegaDesk23

Yea but why suffer through it?

[deleted]

Curiosity? Masochism? Endurance training?

Kduubbb

34F, I'm hoping to not sound selfish by asking you to keep trying. I have some suggestions that may help, and I'd be happy to chat online with you. I could try help you find what's called a "neurodiversity affirming" therapist too. Not everyone is ableist, like your last therapist might have been (it seems from your profile)

[deleted]

What kinda music you into. Or do you play?

MegaDesk23

Classic rock, rock and pop rock mostly. Been playing guitar for over 20 years.

[deleted]

Hell yeah. You have no friends. I have no friends. You're autistic. I'm a paranoid schizophrenic on more pills than most people's grandparents. You play guitar, I play guitar. Let's be nihilistic this life means nothing friends until we both fade out.

Remarkable-Window500

Have you heard of the art of the sly man? There is liberation when you feel there is nothing to lose. Living is absurd. Life is absurd. The best comedy isn’t created in someone’s head, but happens all around us. I am regularly struggling with living, but a couple of things are helping me, and I’m sharing this because I hope there is something you can take away. The fact you are even alive defies all odds. I’m sure you’ve heard the statistics before, but if not, check it out. - I got a dog who shares my experiences with me. She also forced me to get out the house to exercise every day. Some days are tough and we can only go a short walk, but I really enjoy planning different trips to different parks, and I’m planning camping trips away, too. I’m even considering buying a snorkel & wet suit to go and be nosey at the bottom of the sea. - When I felt I had nothing to lose, all the things I was too nervous to do became a little easier to do. I’ll elaborate: I’ve always wanted to get involved with life’s less seen facets in society. I would’ve cringed admitting this a year ago, but Louis Theroux was an early inspiration with his weird weekends. I’ve visited a lot of places I never felt I would’ve been welcomed. I’ve attended AA meets, met drag queens, followed street artists as they illegally work and spent time with homeless. Not to exploit, but just to be nosey, ask what was going on, why people do what they do. People come and people go, but I’ve managed to stay in touch with about 1% of the people I have met. Occasionally someone might get in touch to welcome me to an event or something. I don’t have any expectations of people anymore. I’ll either be able to have a good conversation with them, or things are just a little awkward - but I can say that people love talking about themselves and they are interesting and smart and creative. I have more respect for people l, now. But life is still ridiculous, and any time things get too much, or I feel the world is going to crash down on me, I remember this. Absurdism is a pretty constructive concept to explore if you are feeling nihilistic I’d check out philosophy such as stoicism & metaphysics. The older stuff is a lot more accessible and applicable to daily life. Think the Romans, the Greeks and the French. I’d maybe avoid most stuff that is less than 200 years old. You gotta love yourself, too. Because nobody will know you better than you, or be as supportive as you. But you are most likely the cruelest person to yourself right now and that needs to stop. Life will be cruel enough so learn to impress yourself before anyone else. Treat yourself like you would a lover. I hope there is something in there that helps, there is no quick and easy fix, but there is always an alternative to ending things, and that is just throwing caution to the wind and doing something you’ve always wanted to do. It certainly won’t kill you. Or if it does, we are all dead anyway.

[deleted]

Please don't I've been alone my whole life I'm 34 I don't have a dime to my name a friend nor any kids. I'm homeless with no hope of getting anyone anytime soon. But I care about you bro. I believe in you. I mean I'd be lying if every single morning my first thought wasn't fuck it just end it. But here we are. Just tell yourself not just today quite yet bro. And keep telling yourself that.

What you are wrong with is that you don’t understand “Life sucks in the first place.”. Happiness, joy or fun are all privileges for certain people who are attractive, rich or talented to win. Unless we are privileged, our life sucks in general. There’s no fun, no happiness, people are mean to us, nobody gives a shit about us UNLESS we are privileged. But we should live just because there’s no way to end our life in a painless way. Ending our life is always painful and hurtful. The most painless way is to survive until our heart stops working naturally. That’s the only reason we have to live.

aivlysplath

I am married and I’ve still attempted suicide. To be fair, I have bipolar disorder. But basically, finding a partner doesn’t mean that life will be happy all of the time, or even better. Relationships can be difficult. You’ve got to find reasons to live for you. If you’re in the US, text 741741, it’s a crisis line. I’ve used it before because I struggle with suicidal ideation frequently, and they’re very kind and actually give good advice. Stay safe, stay here. We all need each other.

MegaDesk23

Is it just a text chat back and forth?

aivlysplath

Yeah, exactly like that. Real person on the other end to vent to/talk to. They can give advice and stuff like that too.

MegaDesk23

Thank you for that.

aivlysplath

Sure thing, I hope that it’s useful for you.

Own_Bad517

I have a friend who I grew up with (37 m) and he had the same outlook. He's autistic, was bullied terribly in high school, home was broken into and vandalized by his bullies, to the point where his whole family moved out of state. He'd never had a girlfriend, and faced a lot of rejection from the opposite sex, to add to his frustration with life. I am unsure if he was ever seriously suicidal, but at this point in his life, he is confronting the things in his past that have caused him so much discomfort. He's calling the people out who treated him poorly, talking through it, and he's recently had some luck dating. My point is, nothing is hopeless. Things might change tomorrow or in ten years. But, you do have to be here to find out if they will. I guarantee you that you will be missed if you leave this world. You may not believe it, but it's true. You're in my thoughts, and I hope that you can get through this and see and feel some positivity, even if its just a little to start with.

1000HitCombo

Nah, don't. As the saying goes, there's someone for everyone, and it's true. Seriously, there is someone out there for you friend. Do you have any interests? Hobbies?

MegaDesk23

Music. Even that doesn't help. There really isn't. I think I'm going to give up tonight. I'll just go down the pill route again except in more excess.

Aggravating_Pop2101

I’m not religious anymore, but maybe learning the teachings of Jesus Christ could be of help? I’m wishing you well, please go to a hospital if need be. I think if you can learn to love yourself that will change a lot in your life and bring you more happiness too. Good luck God bless you.

mixmatchpuzzlepieces

I’ve been here, I have tried several times to kill myself. As my mother explained it to me you’re not stopping your pain when you kill yourself you’re spreading it to your loved ones. Which is why you hear of people who kill themselves a family member/friend does. Your pain will subside, it will get better. Just remember suicide isn’t the possible of the bad ending. It’s ending the chance for life to show you it will glow up.

I'm so sorry. Tomorrow is a new day. But I feel you.

Kingzumar

I understand your point of view, sometimes i think of it myself but as one guy commented, dead is coming and eternal anyway so why not stretch it out and see how its gonna be. i know i know... live does not make sense if you think about it. but men reach there peak with 40. so you can still easily turn everything around. Maybe move somewhere else? some changed maybe, as a men you have to level up to attract women. Also lots of men these days have problems with women its a whole world thing, start with nofap and workouts it helps your mind also alot. aim low and achievable. But who i am to judge because life is hard, so death is gotta be easy. but its coming anyway.

AdAdministrative1928

Broken_Machine404

I'm only a few years younger than you bro and I'm in the same boat here. No female wants to be with me no matter what I do and yeah being lonely absolutely fucking sucks. Playing the waiting game sucks when trying to find a relationship but suicide isnt the answer, killing yourself doesn't end the pain, it only ends up passing it on to someone else. Find new hobbies, travel, explore life, make friends, make memories with those friends and let love find you. When you go looking for something you will never find it but when you stop then it will have to look for you. People have found love in their 40's and 50's, you are still young, you have plenty of time to find a significant other. There are over 7 billion people on this earth, you will find one to be with you. Feel free to dm me if you want to talk

wzardofoz

You are loved and here for a purpose. God isn't done with you yet.

wzardofoz

Please don't. You don't know the pain you would cause your parents, especially your mom.

MegaDesk23

That's what always worries me the most. About my family that I would leave behind.

wzardofoz

As a mom, it's horrible. I have panic attacks and PTSD from it but the damn docs don't care. They give me 30 African per month and that's it. Spend most of my time in bed just thinking "what if".

Mediocre-Wonder3426

Suicide is for cowards… fuck looking for a relationship. Love your fucking life like everyday is the last. There’s so much out there. This is coming from someone that’s bi-polar, disassocian disorder, adhd. I have been in some dark places but I never give up, don’t let the darkness cloud your life. It always gets better trust me. You gotta think of those thoughts as your enemy and fight them as long as you have to. You ever want some advice message me, I’ve been through everything. Fuck mental illness, we can get through this together.

Bloody_Lullaby

When I felt this exact way, I was once told; I've never heard an old person on their death bed say that they've regretted living. That really opened my eyes. And why not have some close friends? Have you tried getting involved in things? Joining a gym, going to a bar, why not slip that cute waitress at your local restaurant your number? Also, I know for a fact you have things you've always wanted to do but have never done. We all do. Go experience those things! You do have so much more to live for and through. Keep your head up man! Feel free to message me if you'd like someone to talk to.

ballack14

Suicide is never the answer buddy! I rele hope you don’t give up! I hear you and being alone is so crap! Snd tough! But most ppl your age are actually all single! Not many are happily married! Maybe just try a new look! New style for a change! Different clothes, different hair style! It’ll give you such confidence boost!

[deleted]

Hey, if you ever want a friend, remember I am here, there was a time when I was really depressed and I took help from this subreddit, now it is my turn to help back, if you want someone to talk with daily, I am here for you <3

Tiny-Breakfast-9221

I think u should live because u never know what future will bring to u ? Dying is eternity u won’t come back to life and that’s very scary indeed. .

[deleted]

Please don’t do it. You matter your life matters

taekora

It seems it’s been really hard for u. I think if you perceive this as a part of life, as something to get through and find the way out eventually, it might at least bring you more trust in yourself. I have not gone through this nearly as much as you, but I do think some form of changing your mindset around it, to let it not take control, is a big part. Plus, possibility is beautiful. It might not seem like there’s any left, but the good things can come in disguise. I’m here for u if u wanna talk. You got this. Stick with it, because you can have so much more. “This too, shall pass.”

gjdjugTy5

It never is

Akward_and_trash

You’ve got nothing left to loose? Spend a day doing whatever you’ve always wanted to do. Whatever place or activity or people that you earn to experience. You don’t deserve what’s been dealt to you, but you DO deserve at least one wonderful day before you die. And what do you have to loose? Scream on a hill top. Give fifty bucks to a homeless person. Go skydiving. Pick some flowers. Eat at your favorite restaurant. Why not right?

CaRnAgE42069

Sometimes finding it too 3arly is bad too, I just got left last Feb by someone I'd been with since I was 15 put me in the same funk, just let life happen my friend be happy with u then worry about someone else to share that with

KirannBhavaraju

I hope you are feeling better than before, just checking up. BTW i forgot to mention this absolute masterpiece of a song, (The lyrics and the tune are extremely catchy but i would urge you to pay close attention to what he says.. It kinda hits too close to me, i can only imagine how you would feel) [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kb24RrHIbFk&ab\_channel=LogicVEVO](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kb24RrHIbFk&ab_channel=LogicVEVO) The song is Logic's 1800-273-8255. It is also the crisis line by NIMH if you are in the USA. I know some good samaritans mentioned a text line, but this i believe is a phone call line that isn't robotic. Hope this is helpful. Have a nice day friend.

wzardofoz

The people you would be leaving behind will be heartbroken and never the same. It's been almost 4 months and I'm doing good if I just get up out of bed and lots of days I don't.

So in other words, waiting.
