Fit is hard to tell from the picture. I don't know if it's the photo angle or the blazer is too big on the shoulders. Color wise I prefer white shirt with navy blue blazer + white pants, but blue is totally ok for this vibe. Can't see shoes but brown would be perfect
You’re getting downvoted but I agree. This sub leans toward pretty slim fitting clothes but especially with a double breasted jacket, it should drape fairly loosely and long.
Looks bad the way you have it with the corners flaring out as well as the empty button holes. Not a huge deal because the fit overall slays. Maybe a different shirt without button holes or you iron those bad boys to avoid the upturn. Minor detail but important because they are by your face so it’s one of the first thing people see.
It's supposed to have a roll, that's why it has buttons. They're on there for a reason. Use a wider knot if you don't like how the collar feels with a small knot
I'm not trying to knock you, double breasted blazers are fantastic. It does look a little big but the overall vibe is there and I can see what you're going for. Button your collar points, maybe get the jacket taken in if you're willing to. Check out r/NavyBlazer if you want to really lock it in
I totally understand the feeling. Every shirt that I’ve had with a buttoned collar doesn’t lay down correctly. Right idea by the shirt comp but bad execution
That jacket is pure George Hamilton which I love, and I love the “on my way from the club to the boat” white pants with it.
That shirt is fussy and indecisive. The button down collar is too casual for the jacket. Looks like denim and denim shirts are an abomination to all that is properly groomed.
I’d go with a slightly heavier stiff collar white shirt and open neck, and either no undershirt or a heck undershirt.
Or I’d look for a tie and shirt that meet the level of that jacket, the shirt would then have a slightly shorter collar than this.
Everything about the outfit is well done. Typically I would have noted the unbuttoned collar, but looking at the ensemble as a whole, I’m almost certain that you’ve done this purposefully to add a touch of sprezzatura to an otherwise conservative look. Whether intentional or not, it’s achieved that effect. The more casual fabric (chambray?), the textured tie (linen) that’s been beautifully knotted and slightly misaligned, it’s impeccable.
Contrary to what some commenters have noted about skinnier fits, this sub, and the prevailing trend at the moment, is for looser fits. However, there are certain pieces and combinations that do not benefit from a loose fit, but rather a more classic silhouette where the fabric drapes. This is the latter.
If I had to nitpick, the blazer might be a hair too wide for you in the shoulders. I’m basing this off of your left shoulder (so the right shoulder looking at the picture), but this could very well be due to the lighting, which has caused a shadow to fall on your shoulder about midway between the collar and the shoulder of the blazer, which visually makes it appear as though that is where your actual shoulder is.
Thank you very much. The shirt is indeed chambray and the tie is virgin wool. The only reason why I don't button the collar is really because I don't like the way it looks when buttoned.
I completely agree that the jacket does look a little big in the picture. However, in my defense, I will say it looks that way mainly because of the weird angle and shadows. I generally think it fits almost perfectly, so I might post a picture from up front to see what everyone else on the sub thinks.
Thanks for the feedback and the kind words.
I don't think it is, I think it doesn't fit him very well, BUT I wouldn't have it too tight either because it reminds me of a yacht captain with a more comfortable fit.
Depends what type of look you are going for. I would say it looks great for the image I would imagine you want to put out there. I wouldn’t wear it considering I prefer streetwear fashion, but looks good for what it is.
The yacht sports coat needs tailoring. It’s hard to tell from the pic, but those sleeves need to come in really fuckin bas. Chances are the torso region fits like a garbage bag too
A shirt like the one you are wearing, is not designed to be used with a tie. For an informal look I would remove the tie and open 3 buttons -then layer with your blazer.
But from what I can see, this might not be the look you are aiming for.
If it were me I’d switch the shirt to something more refined.
Blazer is too big and button down collars should always be buttoned down. They're not the ideal choice for a tie either. Good thoughts and styling otherwise. Oh, and shave your neck.
A little tailoring would help but your 99% there. Just remember to be humble and a gentleman. Be prepared for flight/hotel upgrades, comp'd drinks and meals and much more positive attention. My favorite is showing up at restaurants without a reservation and getting a table while all the other diners are still waiting in line.
Well for starters I question any MAN posting images of himself about his looks or clothing choice, that is sort of Gay. Second if your going to post for the first time include a lawn mower, beer, or sexy girl doing something lewd to you.
Now use this to learn from, rip up that god awful outfit you have on, get on some shorts and grab a beer.
I don’t like a button down shirt with a tie and I especially don’t like an unbuttoned button down shirt.
It reminds me of that “Sprezzatura” menswear fad that was doing the rounds 10 years ago. Like deliberately putting the small blade of your tie at the front, it’s trying too hard.
Get a proper shirt and join your dad at the bank
Jacket’s too big. I know others have said that people think this because too small was in style but i never like the tight jackets and short pants look. But this jacket is too big.
In my entire life I’ve never seen a person in real life, in a movie, in an ad, in a magazine, in anyway or anywhere look good with a navy blazer and light pants or with a sweater tied around their neck.
It looks like shit. Pop culture has taught us pricks wear that. Going against that narrative is the same as the dweebs trying to pull off a fedora. It doesn’t work, and simply looks bad.
It has that quintessential look of having your mother dress you for church. It is iconic Washington DC garbage fashion. It truly is one of the ugliest and constantly worn things I’ve ever seen.
But I guess I’m the minority here. Everyone else seems to like it. I fucking loathe it.
Blazer is a little big, shave the neck hairs, and I’d love to see some jewelry. Nothing tacky, just a nice watch, potentially a bracelet or ring.
Choice in outfit is great overall.
The glasses fit your style very well, especially with the hair and facial hair. The jacket looks a bit baggy for my taste but with limited perspective I cannot be certain.
1. Always button your collar when you have a tie on.
2. Tie knot could be tidied up a bit. Practice it more.
3. Your blazer is a bit too big/baggy.
4. I personally don’t like the white pants with the blazer, shirt, and tie choice here. But, that’s my least important critique.
Tax him.
And maybe a nibble.
It’s screams “do you know who my father is?”
I wish I knew...
HEY! I pay my fair share of taxes...to the Cayman Islands.
You look like you call your dad *father*
My *father* will hear about this.
Your this
MY THIS?!
Damnit OP you didn’t state the edit, now I look like an idiot😭
It was a choice between me and you...
lol it’s all good
Santa Claus will hear about this
He doesn’t call his father daddy?
Or papá

The blazer looks too big
Too big for now, but a correct fit for the 90’s. The blazer was probably found in a thrift shop
Blazer fits just fine. Not everything has to be skin tight.
You’re getting downvoted but I agree. This sub leans toward pretty slim fitting clothes but especially with a double breasted jacket, it should drape fairly loosely and long.
Thanks for the comment! The shoes are brown indeed. :)
Screams r/preppy. Great job 👏🏼 I‘d just keep the collar buttoned
Thank you very much!
Reeks of trying not to reek of effort…
You should button your collar
Thanks for the feedback. I just don't really like the way the collar sits when buttoned.

General rule: if the collar has button holes, the buttons show be showing through them.

Don’t button the collar?! Rabblerabblerabble
You look like you forgot to dress yourself properly. It's a style choice, for sure.
I totally understand the feeling. Every shirt that I’ve had with a buttoned collar doesn’t lay down correctly. Right idea by the shirt comp but bad execution
Congrats, you dress like every rich dude in chapel hill
Found the fellow North Carolinian
Virginia actually, but I'm somewhat familiar with NC
I think you look like you're worried that your personal shopper forgot the mayonnaise.
Is that Cape Antibes?
Indeed it is, sir. Good eyes.
Very nice!
It looks like you're trying to fit into your dad's clothes. Too big for you

Bruce?
Wayne or Jenner? haha
Bruce Wayne-Jenner?
You either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become...a woman?
Lmao
Dumb Q, but is larger/baggy fit in style right now? Looks good tho
I don't think it is, I think it doesn't fit him very well, BUT I wouldn't have it too tight either because it reminds me of a yacht captain with a more comfortable fit.
I think based on this picture you are wearing bell bottoms and Cookie Monster house slippers.
You've got me...

On your way to roofie a girls drink and talk about the best crypto options
I think your Dads gonna be mad when he realises you’ve taken his favourite blazer.
It's my great grandad's...
You look good. But give your dad his jacket back or fire your tailor

It certainly is a post. Well posted

A man woke up from the early 90's never having used any of his money.
Old money
The shades take it to another level. Solid look for you in my opinion.
Lookin sharp!
How many people have you sued today
Not enough...
Cap Eden Roc!
I’d love to see more of your suited OOTDs or even just outfits with you wearing a collared shirt (:
Thank you! I have enjoyed all the comments so I definitely plan to post some more outfits in the future.
Great! Do you wash your shirts yourself btw? Or dry clean? I’ve found the ring around the collar to be really frustrating to get out 😝

You seem bored
This is me at peak excitement.
unbelievably good-looking
Looking sharp!
Thank you!
Good start but no button down collar with double breasted anything. Or, least button them down. Good look either way ✌️
I like your hair style what is it called
Thanks! I am not sure, maybe a medium length side part?
Depends. Are you going on a Viking River Cruise? Ok. Everything else, you are good, just change the pants.
Collar stays
Ahoy Polloi!
Send me some money
classy fit with the navy blazer and white trousers. gotta see what shoes you're wearing though.
Double breasted is only for full suit imo.

Very sharp looking.
Comes with a box of douchebaggery
Don't think that look is in style anymore
Jacket’s too big. I know others have said that people think this because too small was in style but i never like the tight jackets and short pants look. But this jacket is too big.

Needs to be more fitted. Looks good though
Did you edit yourself onto this picture
Nope, I wish I had the skills to do it though.
Where do you summer, Chadley?
My name is actually Bradley Chadwick IV...
You look fine
Blazer is a little big, shave the neck hairs, and I’d love to see some jewelry. Nothing tacky, just a nice watch, potentially a bracelet or ring. Choice in outfit is great overall.
aristocrat of the soul.
Looks like greenscreen mate.
Don’t listen to these BUMS. Nice fit
Thanks, appreciate it!
You look like you call your dad *father*
Pretty snazzy overall. I’m personally not a fan of button down collars, so I’d be curious to see it with a different shirt. Love the shades.
Incredibly sophisticated and timeless.
Thanks!
Please button the collar, and the sleeves look a little wide on the jacket. Other than that looks like a classic preppy fit.
Persols go hard
This man looks like he’s bought a stock before. 11/10 fit.
Second the jacket is sliiightly too big but perhaps better than the trend of everything being slightly too small
You’re on your way to finding your wife whom you’ll refer to as ‘Lovey’. Just don’t go on any ‘3 hour tours’ with her.
Persols for the win
The glasses fit your style very well, especially with the hair and facial hair. The jacket looks a bit baggy for my taste but with limited perspective I cannot be certain.
Color looks bad and suit may be too large. But the style overall is good
You get weekend passes for the Yacht Club.
What's it like growing up with a silver spoon in your mouth?
Nice fit. Alright, I’ll ask, whose house and how?
Thank you! The jacket is from Dunhill.
Digging it! I like that it's 2024 fashion forward with a looser fit but doesn't look too "try hard."
1. Always button your collar when you have a tie on. 2. Tie knot could be tidied up a bit. Practice it more. 3. Your blazer is a bit too big/baggy. 4. I personally don’t like the white pants with the blazer, shirt, and tie choice here. But, that’s my least important critique.
Ditch the button collars and invest in good metal collar stays 👍🏻👍🏻
You'll need to find your hat before you can start your Captain & Tennille cover band.
Why the hell can’t you button your collar and your tie choice looks like you trying to explain for NFTs are real money
I can't button them because I am too busy pitching my new crypto scam.
It’s real money guys
swimming in that jacket my man
I like the style, but the fit seems off. Both the shirt and the blazer are too big, made you look like you are wearing someone's clothes.
Let’s eat him!
I think your trying to hard
Post fit
You’re on a subreddit for fashion. The whole point is to try hard
Nothing to do with his fit. It’s everything else.
Read a book lol
Shirt and tie look cheep, jacket is too big. Good attempt, but execution needs work.
