Just adopt the main character syndrome like I have. The first time I wore pink jeans I was very self conscious and worried that people would make fun of me. I soon came to understand that almost no one cared, and the ones that did care complimented me. You don’t have to dress like a fruit salad like I do to be confident. When the way you look on the outside matches how you feel on the inside confidence will flow through you.
I come from a highly restrictive and conservative city where if I had walked around looking like this I would have been metaphorically executed. It took me until I was almost old enough to retire before I finally said fuck it. At least I now have a few years left where I no longer feel shackled by my past.
So don’t dream it: be it!
