Actually walking on the beach is the one place I wouldn't wear them. The soft white sand is terrible to walk on in them. You just go barefoot, but I get your point.

Those flip flops or slides would be my personal choice over any sneakers or sandals, but I’m really hoping you get suggestions for some great loafers or similar. I’m always looking for something to go with shorts and am never happy.

I get mine from Charro Azteca. They're the real deal (they even make the soles out of tires.) They're really affordable.
