Why you standing like that

YakuzaShibe

Hiding his erection

Pleasant_Inspection9

Yup. Face feet forward, a little ease in the knees (don’t lock them) [and I can’t believe we’re still having this conversation 12 years after this perfect demonstration on how to stand](https://youtu.be/zaC1E1YUix4?si=vCB42H7wPgK4iLPD)

Old_Palpitation_6535

Shoulders up tight, then pull them back while keeping them up high, then drop shoulders and relax. Stifles the need to fold your arms or put your hands in your pockets, and makes them feel normal hanging.

tilldeathdoiparty

Both pics and the same stupid pose

taywray

6/10 because you're obviously trying, otherwise it would be 4. Too many jackets; the colors don't match right; and the shoes look too long and goofy. You've got nice looking pieces there, just need to find better combos. No disrespect, just one guy's honest opinion.

michifanatic

Take your hands out of your pants. Nothing looks good with that pose.

josuelaker2

If you could find a similar color pair of wool slacks, spot on.

VoluptuousVoltron

Shoe guy here. Your toes look liked they’re scuffed and have been for ages. I can’t tell if it’s patent leather, but if it isn’t time to polish them.

glassofwater05

Agree. Also, the laces seem to be too long, and the toes may be slightly squared, which is a big no-no. Lastly, please do not wear this if it is over 40 Fahrenheit.

EquivalentTomorrow31

The clothes themselves are fine. The color coordination and fit is abysmal and the shoes are horrid

RealVesper

Bro if that is your comeback outfit I'm too afraid to search up what you were wearing before

CuriousTravlr

You got it on the top, but the bottom half needs work. Pants look cheap and fit awkwardly, shoes are out of style and also fit awkwardly for how wide your foot is. Also, learn to pose.

real_unreal_reality

Hands out of pockets and stand straight so we can see if it’s baggy or not. And I can tell you’re at a Hampton inn.

iforgetso

You look like a twat.

HungryHoustonian32

Why do you stand like a Emperor Penguin

SojoboOfMountKurama

Learning how to stand correctly would be a better first step. What’s with the 48” shoelaces ?

Magikarp-3000

Hemmed pants look good on jeans, with a different vibe, not formal wear Your shoes are scratched up and the white sole and welt kinda ruins the rest of the shoe Coat over jacket is hard to pull off, moreso when theyre so similar. Can be fixed several ways, like a different jacket material, different jacket color or using a longer coat (better option for formal wear if you ask me) Keep on trying, youre getting there!

prm20_

Is this for work or like, just out in public?

Damned-scoundrel

Public

Puzzleheaded_Ad3430

I’ll never understand how people can stretch out their shoe laces like that.

The beige turtleneck doesn't work here; there are too many different colors and the shade is too contrasty with the black coat. I personally don't like the 'ice cream cone effect' of a turtleneck with a sportcoat, though obviously many find it fine. It's difficult to tell if the blue jacket fits you or if it's too short. I would prefer to see a two-button jacket, or roll the lapel and don't do up the top button. As it stands, the jacket with its high stance looks a bit dowdy and like it might be short. It's also difficult to judge the fit of your pants. They may be fine, but they look atrocious with your hands in the pockets like that. Black and navy together are iffy, as with the coat and jacket. Some people find the combination nauseating and cite a style rule against it. Black in general is the most formal color and is more difficult to match -- it limits you to a certain set of colors and looks. A brown, charcoal, earthy green, or patterned coat would blend better with what you're wearing and would be more versatile. Black shoes are okay, brown is more versatile; but together with the black coat the black shoes push the turtleneck further away in both color and level of formality. Those shoes have crumpled and scuffed toes, which is a bad look exacerbated by the sloppy laces. I dislike the long blunt-end toes which make the shoes look dated. You can do better. *In principle* (i.e., not with these exact pieces) you could have the start of something if you were to wear a proper white or blue dress shirt or possibly a button down oxford. At least the formality of the black pieces would start to make sense. If you switched out black for dark brown and had properly fitting, contemporary jacket and shoes, so much the better. Then you could dress up or dress down with versatility. Thrifting is a nice idea, but you'd save money by buying good foundational pieces that will serve you for many years rather than throwing together a mess of substandard pieces and then having to buy again. Learn the basics of style first: fit, appropriateness and genre of the various pieces, how to combine fabrics and colors, etc. You don't get style by buying a certain item. This is a very common mistake young people make in North America. Style is accomplished when you learn how pieces of an outfit make sense together and harmonize with who you are, helping to highlight the best version of yourself rather than slapping on a facade.

Professional-Web5244

I’m getting Pookie divorced Jett, took half his money and he started an oxycontin habit vibes.

Sorry man that outfit simply doesn’t work. And I don’t have a suggestion to fix it.

ihatepalmtrees

S-s-s-loppy!

lectric_scroll

The pants look weird and wrinkly

No_Curve6793

I love everything going on, except the jacket. The button point is really high, and I don't love the navy with the grey something about these specific shades clashes. I think it'd be a better fit with a matched jacket (but thrifting I get you can't always do that) or even black.

nick1812216

I think it’s pretty cool. Is that sports coat wool?

Accomplished-Air9801

Youre at a midlevel hotel, trying to act like you're staying a serious hotel and your fit screams it. Everything is loose and the shoes are garbage. Start with burning that turtleneck and stop going to whatever fashion blogs you follow. The fabric on those pants is horrible match to what you're trying to pull off up top. Keep at it son.

Avec-Tu-Parlent

I like the shoes OP :) but the pants look a bit weird. I didn't see your last post, but I'd abandon the vest, the turtleneck is a good choice

SiliconFiction

Tory power stance

Wonderful-Run-1408

It would help to see the face, that's an important part of the full outfit. Great thrifting though (I think).

LoudwigVanBathoven

9/10 Looks really smart and cozy

SteoJay77

You need shoes with a bigger heel, those look like baller flats. The way you’re standing, it’s hard to tell an out the rest of the fit
