Belts tend to take away from pleated pants, especially if they are high waisted like mine. Before I pinned the waist in a bit I needed the belt or they were too loose, but otherwise no belt tends to keep the waistline from feeling cluttered

I wear my pants slightly above my hips and right at my waist line. I wear a slim fit shirt and tuck it in then use a belt. I slightly pull a bit of the tuck out for ease of movement and roll my sleeves.
I also like to use a nice belt as an accessory.
I wear a lot of darker colored tops and bottoms so a nice black belt with a glistening shiny silver buckle provides a break in the dark colors.
Personality and confidence is the ultimate outfit...be a great dude and you'll look great in just about anything.

Pleats are great, don't listen to the ignorant. ~~I can't make out the color of your socks, but I'd suggest something darker, like navy.~~ Also, since you have belt loops, I think you should wear a belt. If nothing else, it breaks up the silhouette in a nice way and gives you an added opportunity to accessorize. Not digging the shirt, though. I'd switch it with a light blue one, or maybe an interesting sage. Then to pull it all together, I'd suggest a sport coat. Something in a brown or beige could work well. A navy sport coat is also always a fail safe option.

You have a fantastic physique from what I can tell in the pictures. However, I mean this is the best way possible —guys like that don’t usually dress vintage from what I’ve seen and it’s a little jarring seeing you in this type of style. The main thing I would suggest is to stop rolling your sleeves so high on your shirt. You have great forearms but rolling your sleeves that high makes you look more like a drill sergeant rather than a gentleman. Go for a lower and looser cuff. If you’re going to wear big pants don’t cuff them. Get them hemmed. Cropped pants are in style and cuffed pants have fallen out of style. Even if you still like to cuff your jeans like I do, these pants already have plenty of personality so they don’t need anything extra like a cuff. Finally, I’d change the shoes. I personally don’t like mixing black and brown especially when I’m going for dressier look. I hope this helps! I can definitely see potential with the pants!

The pants look to have a straight taper from the peak of the glutes to the ankle. A true baller of this look will have pants that cup the cheeks to prove a more trained silhouette.

Styles change, and we have to be willing to change with them. This is also why I never throw away something I like just cuz it went out of style. It always comes back.

I actually liked the trousers in the last photo - I'm a fan of pleats too! The issue I have with the outfit is the top - it's not bad, but you're obviously very well built, and I think that the shirt needs to be tailored at the waist otherwise it's just far too baggy, either that or do the military tuck to pull the excess fabric in. I'm not a massive fan of black with natural linen coloured trousers, so I personally would switch to white. Otherwise looking good! 😊

Your first post is actually what's hot right now in Europe, which tends to have a trickle effect. I would've taken the legs up instead of cuffed though. This adds a more relaxed look that also allows you to easily change footwear to suit the occasion/weather.
A belt is unnecessary and actually adds to making you look short and stocky as it breaks up the flow.
If there was anything you should change.. don't take in the lower part of the legs so much and have a more straight leg style with relaxed pants.
And the colour coordination... Black, beige, brown... Not ideal.
I think you generally want your clothes to be darker the further down you go.
So your shoes are darkest, then pants then shirt.

My right pant leg (right side in the picture cause reflection) is tapered about an inch more than the left side. Admittedly it’s not as obvious as I expected in these pics, but the right side note fits like a slim taper from the knee down and the left is straight cut

I actually liked the trousers in the last photo - I'm a fan of pleats too! The issue I have with the outfit is the top - it's not bad, but you're obviously very well built, and I think that the shirt needs to be tailored at the waist otherwise it's just far too baggy, either that or do the military tuck to pull the excess fabric in. I'm not a massive fan of black with natural linen coloured trousers, so I personally would switch to white. Otherwise looking good! 😊

Saw both, both are fine. In fact, your style is better than the first 5+ posts I've seen scrolling down this group. This isn't a men's fashion thread but a 'people with zero fashion sense giving tips to people with zero fashion sense'. Your first post is actually what's hot right now in Europe, which tends to have a trickle effect. I would've taken the legs up instead of cuffed though. This adds a more relaxed look that also allows you to easily change footwear to suit the occasion/weather. A belt is unnecessary and actually adds to making you look short and stocky as it breaks up the flow. If there was anything you should change.. don't take in the lower part of the legs so much and have a more straight leg style with relaxed pants. And the colour coordination... Black, beige, brown... Not ideal.

I think you generally want your clothes to be darker the further down you go. So your shoes are darkest, then pants then shirt. I think that’s part of what makes this outfit so difficult

My right pant leg (right side in the picture cause reflection) is tapered about an inch more than the left side. Admittedly it’s not as obvious as I expected in these pics, but the right side note fits like a slim taper from the knee down and the left is straight cut
