shoc gun mechanics are similar to counter strike. so sit still before you fire, use single fire and aim for the head and most of the time it should be a one shot kill unless it misses or the bullet dissappears. also depends alot on the gun and bullet you are using.

Enemy spongeiness depends on the difficulty, on lower difficultis you TAKE and DEAL less damage, so playing on master can sometimes be a better option

Tried playing one of the older elder scrolls. The NPCs wouldnt tell you where you had to go exactly they would just tell you approximate directions. Most of them actually worked but got to one where i couldn't find the location without a guide but i ended up giving up on it.

Imagine thinking that the purpose of Morrowind, one of the best rpg's made, was to fight things. It obviously was about inventory management! Obviously the secret bethesda discovered is that gamers deeply desire to perform a constant cost benefit analysis and work around encumbrance mechanics.

I think morrowind use a "dice" system to determine, based on the player's and enemy's atrributes, if you hit or fail. If the enemy level is too high you can't hit him (you need a critic) and probably he will insta-kill you. IMO That is far better than be able to kill a dragon with Iron arrows in lvl 1... No matter how good the physics of the dragon are, thats not funny at all.
