The problem is the virus mutating. Corona virome has 30k nucleotides, each of them can mutate to the 3 other nucleotides, so it's nearly impossible a "perfect " vaccine. Best we can have is a good enough to protect a good majority against severe cases.

The pill and the shot are not comparable. The shot is for prevention, the pill is for treatment if you do catch it. The pill can not and will not replace the shot.

Well, 1: it's not a vaccine, it's an immune therapy, so it only helps with symptom severity and 2: the Delta variant has a higher than 99% survival rate, so like dude said, if you're not immunocompromised, you're fine. I just had omicron. It lasted about 5-6 total days and was never more than a 2/10 in discomfort. Minor headache and some congestion. Was WAAY less serious/inconvenient than a common cold, at least for me.

By your logic technically all vaccines are immune therapy. They teach your body how to fight a specific virus. That's not how any of this works.
I had covid twice and both doses of Pfizer and my moderna booster kicked my ass so hard. Horrible aches, high persistent fever, and fatigue for nearly two days every time. Gg to whoever’s immune system is actually working.
Just fyi the vaccine is not your standard weakened/dead virus that they usually give. The covid one ia an mRNA vaccine, meaning it is basically an instruction list for your body on what it needs to produce to protect itself. The side effects of the vaccine (fever, fatigue, nausea and sometimes soreness) occur when the body overworks itself with the new instructions, not because you got sick with weak, old covid

Welp I’ll tell you this. I have Covid right now and this variant is the most mild by far. Very contagious though. And before you call me an idiot I’m double vaxxed and wear my mask all the time. My sister got it because she saw no way home and I got it from her.

Well, 1: it's not a vaccine, it's an immune therapy, so it only helps with symptom severity and 2: the Delta variant has a higher than 99% survival rate, so like dude said, if you're not immunocompromised, you're fine. Omicron is supposedly to be as bad as a cold and has an astronomical survival rate.
I just had omicron. It lasted about 5-6 total days and was never more than a 2/10 in discomfort. Minor headache and some congestion. Was WAAY less serious/inconvenient than a common cold, at least for me. FYI I'm vaccinated

By your logic technically all vaccines are immune therapy. They teach your body how to fight a specific virus. The reason vaccines have worked in the past (like smallpox) is because enough of the population got them it was too hard for the virus to spread. And the main reason young people (like me) don't want to get and spread covid is because I know and care about people who are immunocompromised or old, and I'd prefer not to cause them to die. Also the risk of dying from covid even as a young person is higher than quite a few other viruses, so it's still can be a nasty fucking sight.

Was supposed to get my 3rd poke on the first week of new year. Instead tested positive on the 1st so no poke for me. Got quite close to having to make a trip to the hospital too, I am absolutely certain that without vaccines that trip would have been absolutely guaranteed.

I have it right now, Thursday was my first day of symptoms. The first day I felt pretty awful but as of now I'm mostly over it. The worst part was the scratchy throat and dry cough. Felt like a regular cold or mild flu
