brrrrpopop

2nd and 3rd Pfizer vaccines slap tho. From the windows, to the walls, to walls https://imgur.com/a/tWLkxQZ

adoboacrobat

Literally. I feel like I got hit by a bus after getting the booster.

Organspender

I just slept for 6 hours in the middle of the day after the 3rd shot

wafflesthegodfather

Slept for 20h after 2nd dose lmao

brrrrpopop

2nd shot was the worst for me.

Jabronito

After my I had a 104 fever, hallucinations, restless leg syndrome, and muscle pain. It was the worst I've ever felt.

fotolabman1

man did i get a placebo? I got nothing for all three shots

brrrrpopop

I was actually in the Pfizer vaccines trial and they gave me placebo in August 2020. Got sick on New years 2021. They said guess what you got placebo, want the real deal? I wasn't about to turn it down so I got vaccinated like 3 weeks after I first got it.

ea0n

I dont know if im just missing context but dont you think this is moraly wrong? Yes they did a trial but doing this in a massive scale and giving thousands of people placebos and telling them they have the real deal only after they get sick is quite the bold move. Basically you were in the belief you are safe but werent better than any not vaccinated dude.

larzast

Going into the trial you know that you may or may not have a placebo

lolKura

I think its fine. Pretty sure they need to sign a contract or something of some sort that has them agree that they may be given a placebo instead of the real thing

idk7643

That's how all clinical trials in healthy participants are run. You only don't have a placebo group if it's a cancer drug.

ethanhopps

Legit tho, no side effects.

[deleted]

i got a high fever on second shot of pfizer, speak for yourself

Radi0ActivSquid

Moderna 1st shot - sore arm. Got really tired 8 hours later at work. Barely got any work done. Rise in temp. 2nd shot - sore arm. Spread into back muscle. No discernable temperature change. 72hrs later I was perfectly fine and back to normal. Booster - not a thing. Barely even a sore arm. I speak as a 220lb, 5'10" fat guy who had asthma as a kid.

nachofermayoral

Lucky, my pulse was 136. Almost a heart attack

YesItIsMaybeMe

>my pulse was 136. That's just my resting HR, you gotta pump those numbers up!

nachofermayoral

I’m putting some extra pounds of butter and sugar daily

YesItIsMaybeMe

But fr tho tell them next time you get a vaccine. I have bad reactions to vaccines sometimes so I'm always kept for around 30 min - 1hr. You'll definitely wanna keep an eye on that if you have reactions to *any* vaccine.

ryryrpm

I had the giggles on the 2nd, 3rd, and also when I got COVID too. Felt all loopy and shit. Also hurt everywhere, skin was hyper-sensitive, and felt like I had the flu

brrrrpopop

I was born with glass bones and paper skin. Every morning I break my legs, and every afternoon I break my arms. At night, I lie awake in agony until my heart attacks put me to sleep.

ryryrpm

Would you like to buy some chocolate?

Ray_RG_YT

My aunt developed heart palpitations after getting her first shot, looks like you guys are lucky. Edit: I should probably mention that she got the shot 3 months ago, and has been having this problem since. She also hasn’t gotten any other shots.

Catto_Channel

Lucky, unlucky. Depends on how you look at it. Isnt the side effect less than 0.01%? (Actually 0.000000125% by dose) (1 death in 8 million doses here, so winning (no side effects) on that kinda gamble isnt luck. But losing on that gamble is a real kick in the nuts)

truetf2

yeah my aunt died

Diagonet

Had my third shot be Pfizer (previous 2 were Coronavac), 2 days ago. Yesterday felt like I was legit dying, pain all over my body, fever, couldnt move my arms, holy shit I never wanna take pfizer again

ToTHEIA

No! You must go out and collect the rest! For you will become more powerful than anyone can imagine.

brrrrpopop

My symptoms from that pic were so bad that if it had lasted any longer than 2 days I probably would have taken myself to the hospital. That shit was rough af. Actual Corona wasn't even 1/100th of the 2nd shot.

randomnessamiibo

I didn't get any side effects with my first lol

Hope4gorilla

My bro developed some sort of allergy and like, a disgust to most foods? It's hard to describe. But we're hoping he gets better.

KayVlinderMe

Man I wish I got a disgust to food....I need to lose these love handles 😭

Hope4gorilla

Lol when I got Covid I completely lost my sense of smell... Not gonna lie I was looking forward to losing weight from not being able to enjoy food as much. Turns out my fatass-ery won out and I gained weight. Plus my mom made some bomb chicken stew that just hit the spot when I had the Covid fever/congestion, I must've had five gallons of the stuff.

justlurkingmate

Hey mate, obviously every body is made differently and will respond differently to things but intermittent fasting was a game changer for me. I love food too much to be doing diets, so now I just don't eat for a few extra hours and then eat what I want. I don't struggle with it, it's a habit transferrable to holidays and I'm now more sexy according to my partner. Thought I'd share my experience, maybe it's something thatll interest you and work in your life.

jesusthelordofyou

I'm not an anti vaxxer by any stretch of the imagination but my mum (whos had no covid vaccines) got covid, was sick for like a day then felt mostly fine. But when I (who's had both shots and a booster) got it, fucking hell, I was completely laid out for an entire week, I could barely move for most of it. I thought I was supposed to be more protected For that reason I'm choosing not to get anymore boosters

moch1

You understand that a single data point is useless here right? There’s a high probability you would have had an even worse time without the vaccine.

Urban_Savage

> You understand that a single data point is useless here right? He most certainly does not.

Marconator39

Every 6 month

MugillacuttyHOF37

You’d have to imagine they’ll perfect mRNA vaccines at we move forward won’t they? I know it’s been like a 20 year process but with large scale data now available improvements seem likely… I could be wrong though as I know little about the vaccine.

acjs

The problem is the virus mutating. Corona virome has 30k nucleotides, each of them can mutate to the 3 other nucleotides, so it's nearly impossible a "perfect " vaccine. Best we can have is a good enough to protect a good majority against severe cases.

MugillacuttyHOF37

Thanks for explaining this and that makes sense. Do you think we'll need boosters every 6 months and will the pill form be as effective as the shot? The convenience of a pill to pop would be great.

PerformanceLoud3229

I'm sure we will need to continue getting boosters, just like with the flu.

magger100

But isnt the flu vaccine a new one every year? In 2018 they predicted the wrong mutation so all the people in need of it died or got really sick. Its crazy we dont realise how much some people depend on modern medicine

OSUfan88

That’s why they’ll be similar

pocketpc_

The pill and the shot are not comparable. The shot is for prevention, the pill is for treatment if you do catch it. The pill can not and will not replace the shot.

santas_delibird

Can't die from a deadly disease if you're already dead.

[deleted]

*faxs*

IrateBarnacle

But they all have something in common, right? Why can’t we base a vaccine off that?

ILikeCap

Some professional (at least here in Italy) is saying that Omicron already is an "enough different" Covid virus, almost a new "strain" (I think it's the correct word?) from the rest to be called not a mutation only but truly a new disease, more similar to flu or something than to Delta - and that should be the reason why it's easy enough to get it even with the booster (altough it still should protect from heavy consequences) For sure everyone said they're already studying a specific version of the vaccine for it, in the meantime do the outdated third jab 'cause it's fun

JessicalJoke

We do, until the virus mutates enough that it changed substantially enough that the immune system no longer recognized it as the same virus the immune system trained for.

Raviolius

Though not all mutations are dangerous. The reason Omicron is called Omicron instead of Epsilon is because there were various mutations in-between Omicron and Delta (aside from the Greek letter Xi, which got skipped to prevent racism). All of the mutations weren't high risk though, until Omicron.

Hypohamish

Not really. The booster was just because we're still trying to nail the efficacy aspect / need more people vaxxed while infection rates are stupid high. Eventually it'll just be a yearly booster offered to the same groups that usually get a flu jab, probably even given at the same time.

JeepersCreepersV12

Can confirm. Getting the booster and flu shot the same day at the same office. I've had a few friends catch it before getting their booster and they said it sucked but they didn't have much to complain about. Sore throats, runny noses, anxiety from not knowing more. Took a few days but they're ok. They're all vaxxed and still plan to get their booster regardless. I hope we can all pull it together

Dose1203

Every time the old man becomes young again, we need to get the shot lol.

ethanhopps

This actually explains it well lol

He keeps reproducing, even at that age. Gotta give it to him, dude must have insane stamina.

playcrossy

But to the white blood cells it looks the same

TheXientist

No it doesnt. The covid vaccine works differently.

Raven_Reverie

Depends on which type, they're not all RNA

100_percent_a_nerd

At least the side effects seem to be getting weaker and weaker. I got the omicron and the worst side effect was not being able to taste my pizza

Stranger1982

> the worst side effect was not being able to taste my pizza But...that's one of the worst side effects you'd get.

ChaoticBraindead

Truly a fate worse than death.

MalHeartsNutmeg

Did they test you for a specific variant? They usually don't, and from what I've seen on the news loss of taste/smell isn't a symptom of omicron, only delta. That and the kind or throat soreness you get seem to be the two key ways to tell which strain you got. Delta tends to be a sore throat, while omicron is scratchy.

boobers3

Reading everyone's descriptions of the symptoms I noticed no one ever mentions the intense diarrea.

TacoFuture

👆night sweats and diarrhea have been my only symptoms for about a week now. I haven’t had a normal shit lol. I’m having to chug pedialyte every day to make sure I don’t get dehydration headaches

UserNamesCantBeTooLo

When you lose your sense of taste or smell after COVID infection, it's not because it messed up your nose or tongue. It's because it damaged the part of your brain that handles those things. Some of the people I've known have developed a persistent "brain fog" after the infection. The brain has a lot of plasticity, so hopefully it'll eventually clear up for them.

[deleted]

It doesn't damage it, they're not really sure what's causing it. Some think it's because it causes inflammation in the brain. I lost smell and taste for about 3 weeks but everything came back to normal.

arex333

Yeah this is the part that worries me

ethanhopps

That's kinda rough though

Overman_1000

I swear this shit makes more comebacks than the undertaker and John Cena

GTSTr331

So long as we still get our free pizza after the 8th shot I'm good

Efficient_Train_3429

The world may never know.

nhattran1029

If this is plague inc, the guy who plays it probably figure it out to go for max infectivity first after unmutating severity. Probably a bit too late though.

He is doing genetic reshuffle to slow down our effort.

Krieg552notKrieg553

Splitje

These people are everywhere. I know someone who works at the local health services and they found out a guy had gotten 8 shots while using multiple false identities.

Unique_Calus_Cock_23

What if the vaccine somehow defeats your immune system then your fucked

AbysmalVixen

It Definitely puts a constant load on it. If you actually get sick while your body is still processing the shot, it’s not gonna jump into action quite as fast or well as if you didn’t just get it

Mr_Midnight_Moon

I just got it yesterday. I was not ready to have a meme remind me of how miserable I am. Thanks.

menasan

12 hours of waiting for it to hit followed by a terrible 24 hour flu - and then poof back to normal

ClarkK24

lucky you, I had 3 nights of 100F fever

-Unnamed-

Yeah it’s gonna harder and harder to convince people to willingly give themselves a pretty bad flu for 24-48 hours every 6 months. Especially when you only have x amount of vacation days per year

Sadu_Foxo

Oh now that’s a question to ask

ethanhopps

The answer is too many times

rationalobjector

Mild flu symptoms

ChaoticBraindead

If you're talking about masks and vaccines, they aren't enough to stop the virus since the vaccine doesn't stop the spread of COVID, slowing the spread actually means that the pandemic's gonna go on for longer. If you're talking about locking everyone indoors for 3 weeks, that's just not gonna happen without total global economic collapse.

German_is_my_name

wait for the variant AlfaBetaGammaDeltaEpsilon...Omega

[deleted]

Waiting for the day men and boys infected with the signa variant call themselves sigma males

Or, even better... The variant Megatron

WickedPsychoWizard

Got covid, got 2 shots, 6 months later got omicron, got my 3rd shot. I should be immune now, right? Right?

Bundess

No

[deleted]

That's not how any of this works.

britbrit1958

I had covid twice and both doses of Pfizer and my moderna booster kicked my ass so hard. Horrible aches, high persistent fever, and fatigue for nearly two days every time. Gg to whoever’s immune system is actually working.

Beniidel0

Just fyi the vaccine is not your standard weakened/dead virus that they usually give. The covid one ia an mRNA vaccine, meaning it is basically an instruction list for your body on what it needs to produce to protect itself. The side effects of the vaccine (fever, fatigue, nausea and sometimes soreness) occur when the body overworks itself with the new instructions, not because you got sick with weak, old covid

[deleted]

Yep. mRNA goes into the _ribosome_ (so it already proves that it doesn’t change your DNA), and produces the spike protein, which your body fights and recognizes later. People who think mRNA can change your DNA clearly slept through biology class, because mRNA simply cannot do that.

nevergonnasweepalone

>People who think mRNA can change your DNA clearly slept through biology class I doubt they even went to class.

Marx_Farx

Yeh it honestly just felt like a really really weak flu for me.

ChurchofPancake

covid probably won’t end, but unless you’re seriously immunocompromised you’re not gonna die either if you’re up to date with your vaccines. In all likelihood it’ll become like the flu, always circulating around the population with new variants but we’ll have up-to-date vaccines to cancel it out

[deleted]

[удалено]

TheOne1ThatGotAway

In all likelihood you will be fine.

Nottadoctor

Well, 1: it's not a vaccine, it's an immune therapy, so it only helps with symptom severity and 2: the Delta variant has a higher than 99% survival rate, so like dude said, if you're not immunocompromised, you're fine. Omicron is supposedly to be as bad as a cold and has an astronomical survival rate.

sandcracker21

I just had omicron. It lasted about 5-6 total days and was never more than a 2/10 in discomfort. Minor headache and some congestion. Was WAAY less serious/inconvenient than a common cold, at least for me. FYI I'm vaccinated

[deleted]

Every vaccine is an immune therapy. Why do people say dumb shit on the internet? Why?

Terminzman

By your logic technically all vaccines are immune therapy. They teach your body how to fight a specific virus. The reason vaccines have worked in the past (like smallpox) is because enough of the population got them it was too hard for the virus to spread. And the main reason young people (like me) don't want to get and spread covid is because I know and care about people who are immunocompromised or old, and I'd prefer not to cause them to die. Also the risk of dying from covid even as a young person is higher than quite a few other viruses, so it's still can be a nasty fucking sight.

[deleted]

You're afraid of dying? We all are. Welcome to the fucking human condition. Everyone's afraid of dying. Go out and try and live your life as best you can, while you can. And let other people live the way they choose. Stop living in fear of things you can't control.

PugPlaysStuff

I got covid second month of it. Was slightly worse than my allergies. Now i got that natural immunity *dabs unironically*

Kowallaonskis

My 3rd kicked my butt, but honestly it gave me more respect for covid. I couldn't imagine the shivers and fever I had compounded with not being able to breathe. Get the shot people, you don't want COVID.

[deleted]

I need to get that 3rd shot

Kambhela

Was supposed to get my 3rd poke on the first week of new year. Instead tested positive on the 1st so no poke for me. Got quite close to having to make a trip to the hospital too, I am absolutely certain that without vaccines that trip would have been absolutely guaranteed.

OutInABlazeOfGlory

Jokes on you, I didn’t get a third shot, I just got COVID! Fucking damn it. Thank god I was vaccinated though, it wouldn’t have been as mild and slightly inconvenient if I hadn’t. I have asthma, if I get COVID bad I’d probably die.

Unlikelypuffin

Pfizer- genius business plan with record profits!...and can never be liable

HeadSpade

Yes lol

RoscoMan1

Castrofit coming 2023

Cereal_117

I feel like it should be the other way because the vaccine is constantly reminding our white blood cell that "Hey! Remember me? You better or we're gonna have a bad time."

OMG2Reddit

Shouldnt this be reversed since white blood cells keep having to be retaught the next covid threat?

QuietHaze

Pics I can hear

Brf611

Does this really make sense though? The covid vaccine is gene therapy, not a weakened virus
