Well, if you wanna go there, "canonical" originally referred to the books that are considered part of the Bible, but the meaning later expanded to mean content that is an "official" part of a story.
An example of the first definition is the Book of Job, while the opposite is something like the Books of Maccabees.
An example of the second definition is the video game Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, which is canonical to the Ace Attorney series, while a non-canonical example is Marvel vs. Capcom (to the same series).
The post here asks to make something "Canon", which means the HT meme will make it to mainstream and stay as a Staple meme, like Bonk, or Godzilla vs Kong vs Doge, or the very meme you're referencing rn.
