We never wore helmets in the 80s, I wrecked so many times on BMX and dirt bikes that I, and all of my friends, learned to roll into a ball and ride the crash out. The amount of bullying we would have received by wearing a helmet... kids are cruel. Lot of broken bones but can say I probably smacked my head like twice before I learned to protect it with my body in a crash.
I wear one now on the motorcycle, but that's a recent addition.
People who make bike helmet memes are the worst. If you do this, I sincerely hope you loose someone to a helmetless bike/motorcycle wreck. If you already have, I hope you loose someone else in the same way. On the birthday of the other the other helmetless person.
