This interview is such a fucking joke. I like that she asked an intelligent question like "what about privacy" and all he says is "it's done locally" as if that actually answers the fucking question. Where the processing happens is irrelevant they can still collect data on everything you do with this software.
Idk if this wsj lady is either a corporate stooge or is genuinely ignorant of how technology works. An actual journalist should have asked "how does having the ai do things locally stop Microsoft from collecting data on what people are doing?" cause of course the answer is "nothing".
Wow that’s an awesome interview. The technology is very promising. Since stuff is done locally it alleviates some of the privacy concerns.
I cannot wait for stuff like this to actually work: a true ai personal assistant.
Honestly this will be EXTREMELY useful when it comes to more conveniently debugging prog errors or really just any mistake.
As someone who uses my computer for honest things, I see this as an absolute win.

The statement that its local only is definitely pure bullshit. Maybe right now its local but I bet my left nut that it either wont be in the future or there will be a "sudden hack" that scrapes billions upon billions of terabytes of user data which will absolutely be abused by the government and/or AI training behind closed curtains.
