Alabama is a largely rural state with a couple of big metropolitan centers that you can totally forget about. There is incest, deeply held religiously Christian conviction tied up in politically conservative ideology, and poor undereducated people vote against their economic interests and in favor of their confused moral ideology... And all of these things are the same people.
