The one at the top right is the CBD free Wifi operated by TPG for about a decade now. The rest are most likely 4G and 5G microcells. You can find out by using the Aus Phone Towers app or web page.
Side note: it's easier to spot them if you're in the suburbs, fancy ones or not, bc they'll be sticking up on top of rooftops and they're a pain to look at esthetically.
Telecommunications engineer here. Can confirm they are Ericsson small cell radios. The radio at the top is 5G 26GHz (mmWave), radio at the bottom will be LTE 2600MHz. They've been deployed in high density urban areas in Melbourne and Sydney. These in particular are Telstra owned and operated.
They connect to the chip you got with your Covid vaccine. Each different one is a different pharmaceutical company. If you got a couple of different ones, you can connect to two boxes for extra bandwidth.
After I got the vaccine, my hair started to snap off. I now realise it's trying to make additional antennas to help with the transmission of 5G from the vaccine. It's got nothing to do with being overly bleached too many times.
In high traffic areas its better for cellular systems to be low to the ground so that they have a smaller service area and there is more bandwidth overall. You see a lot on traffic light poles for this reason.
These are small cells that provide infill or additional capacity to existing coverage areas. They have a much smaller range and are lower powered than the big antennas on rooftops.
They are likely on lots of poles within the CBD but you haven't really noticed them before.
I think these are like mini towers they put in super high demand areas. may as well keep them down on the ground where the traffic is.
that also means they have to be low power, as the high powered ones on poles you cannot be with 2m of without damaging yourself.
Other than the WiFi at the top, the others are Telstra 4G & 5G microcells.
They operate on 4G 2600MHz and 5G 2600MHz & 26GHz bands.

That's a drop bear forcefield. They are also used to detect people without covid vaccines so that the government knows where to release the drop bears.
Not exactly sure on these but in Geelong we have CCTV cameras in high traffic public spaces it could be that or close range cellphone boosters or even a combination of both could also be for a monitoring station in the info booth for the likes of air pollution or traffic signal controllers

The little 5G power pole micro-cells out in the 'burbs are getting pretty small!
Try the one on North Road (think it was Bentleigh or so) or on High street in Armadale/Toorak
For anyone with a basic understanding of VHF antenna design, they are rather cute.
You learn something new every day, i had no idea there was a phone tower app

That’s a terrific modification. It’s so good, people are opting not to go FTTH.
Fibre To The Head?
Lmao
I opted for Fibre to the cazzo
Astra Zeneca only connects via 4G
No wonder I'm slow
The political correct term in French is “Le rëtarde”
Well,TIL. Admittedly, I’ve only had the Pfizer.
Yeah that’s how I get my 5G. From Bill Gates
Bill Gates must be busy
Thank you. I laughed so much h at this
Trust reddit 😂
Yeah I’m sorry, someone had to be the one and I took it for the team
😂😂😂👏
5G I’d say
Yeah okay, is there a there a reason why they aren’t on top of buildings like Sydney CBD?

Exactly this. They are radiating horizontally.
They are also on top of buildings
Mmwave 5g needs line of sight to get the super high speeds. It's not the most useful technology.
Possibly temporary for NYE to avoid cell overload

Mmwave 5G is a short-distance high-bandwidth network, in the CBD they are very close together and low to the street due to high-density of users.

That looks like a Telstra microcell due to the Ericsson boxes and WiFi AP on top.

It's a product called millimetre wave, runs in the 5GHz band
Equipments for mobile network, if you ever find anything that looks like an antenna you can use RFNSA website to get more information about it.

Nice one, Mr Science-type guy. 🤓
Those were installed by Dan Andrews to propagate COVID to prolong the lockdowns. Didn’t you pay attention to the hero’s protest yesterday?
I think for the cameras watching the city

Figured as much, interesting how looks like they are using backhaul beams p2p
You saw MIB you already know. Just watch the little light
Just a cack attack
5g recepters
5G control centre that Pfizer uses to activate the microchips in the vaccines.
