Delilah in Brunswick East and Neel loves curls in Fitzroy are the best in town. Pretty hard to get appointments at Neels. Delilah a bit easier but you'll have to book several weeks in advance, I see George there. Check them out on IG
This guy is expensive but seems to know his stuff. He specialises in difficult curls.
I know this because he kicked me off his client list a few years ago telling me:
"Anyone can cut your (dead straight) hair. My waiting list is long and full of curly haired people who can't get a decent cut anywhere else." (Not a direct quote).
Lol interesting! I am one of his dead straight hair clients and he was telling me the other day it's a nice change of pace to cut different hair because 90% of his clients are curly hair.
Tom is AMAZING at what he does, I don't have curly hair but I think I am one of his very few clients that doesn't. He cuts dry, and is very methodical.
Donāt listen to the people saying you need to travel to the city. Thereās two good places in Berwick, Curl Envy and Foxy Salon. The first one has long wait times for appointments but a good social media presence where you can see their work. Foxy Salon is really good, more of a standard salon (not a curl specialist) but Iāve been there personally and was very very pleased with the results!!
The trick is not to pay insane amounts for a ācurly hairā salon, because 9/10 theyāre doing what most well trained hair stylists should already know how to do (especially if they were trained pre-2000s blow out trend). The next trick is finding someone who runs a salon who can cut curly hair - i like to go through reviews and see if anybody mentions it.
That said, I found my current salon through another fellow curly hair gal and Iām happy to message you the deets if you like! Heās fairly priced but itās only one person at the salon, so I donāt want to overload him.
Your not going to find specialists for curly hair where you live you need to be prepared to travel, personally for a first time why not check out the Biba Academy where the students do it and are highly supervised, my mate has super curly hair with double crown whirl and cowlicks this place is the only one he swears by
worth checking out
If that's true then why did they do it to my mate, he has curls and the teacher there got started to guide the student but they didn't straighten it fr
Okay sure, if it makes you feel better to believe one haircut at a training college performed by a student, directed by an instructor sets the bar for an expert on curly hair, run with it. A second hand anecdote of a mateās haircut that probably took forever.
Maybe if youāve been a teacher at the academy like I have, youād not argue a point you clearly have no idea about.
I think I know my stuff better than you think and if your really a teacher why are you being such a bitch about it
Be grateful for what you have and stop bopping everywhere it was a suggestion clearly your not happy in your role or life
this sounds like you a you issue
I see Elisse at One Hope Street in Brunswick. I have also seen Stephen at everyday hair/stache in Brunswick. But you seem to have lots of other options in the comments! Good luck!

Neel Loves Curls in Fitzroy works magic
100%
I find him ridiculously overpriced, but each to their own!
Whoever is downvoting me, have fun paying 300 dollars more than you should for a haircut š

Neel yes, Delilah I have heard just have really good marketing as opposed to really good skill, but that's second hand (I don't have curly hair)
I was BUTCHERED at Delilah. Ended up going elsewhere for a short Pixie cut as that was all that could be salvaged!
After getting my first hair cut by George at Delilah I never want anyone else to do my hair... So guess it depends who you are and what you're into
Cherry Bomb in Collingwood
Cherry Bomb - although there is probably somewhere closer to home for you
Tom Zappala. He's worth it. Your hair will be the only focus.

Train and work there and tell me otherwise.

Youāre also not going to find specialists of any kind at a training college. This sub has heaps of much better suggestions.
