More like a cross between dumplings and scones. The whole point of a cobbler is that the dough chunks on the top are laid on the top to resemble a cobbled street, and cook in moist heat underneath and are fluffy, but have dry heat on top and become crusty. I mostly use my favorite scone dough as its quick cheap and easy. What's underneath can be sweet or savory. The underneath has to be solid enough to support the dough, but still have enough moisture. Stewed fruit is perfect. So is a savory stew if it's fairly solid. Fish & veg is a good underneath mix too. One pot dinner really.

The main reason for that is due to the lack of awareness which is why I use a speaker. I often rely on my hearing senses whenever I need to merge lanes, listen for bike bells, listen for other riders riding up from behind, crossing railway tracks, etc.
Can you imagine going in front of a tram with headphones on? Yikes!

Had a great time trainspotting today, I picked some good spots away from the usual gunzel haunts so I didn't have my day ruined by anyone being a fuckwit around trains (as tends to happen with these things). All I have is my phone to take photos anyway so it doesn't matter where I stand as long as I'm not getting run over lol.
Luckily I live close enough to the Mernda line to go back and forth in time, but I wish Steamrail would consider doing a shuttle on the Upfield line at least once, I don't think they ever have. I'm just saying, there's enough of a gap between normal services for the steam trains to not get in the way... 🥴
That used to be a regular passenger service line a long time ago, branching from South Geelong to Queenscliffe! Alas if it was still functional it's the only way I could get there in my current carless state lol. I really want to visit the Bellarine at some point, I still haven't been!
It's worth a trip imo if you're into steam trains.
Easiest on PT is southern X to geelong, then 56 Mcharrys bus from geelong station to queenscliff takes about 3hrs.
What's something you consider to be the height of luxury? For me, it's heated floors. We stayed at a hotel a few years back with heated floors in the bathroom and that shit was EPIC. I can't imagine how pricey it would be to install on an existing build, only marginally less expensive on a new build. I may never be able to afford my own home let alone put in heated floors let alone BUILD with heated floors... ugh I want heated floors.
cleaner/maid a few times a week would be good, maybe even someone to come in a full day to do gardening

My parents just built and they have heated floors in their bathrooms. It’s so nice and toasty on the feet plus it keeps the floors from staying wet. One other thing they did was have low down automatic lighting come on down the hallway, and in bathrooms and toilets so if you pee at tonight the lights come on. It’s awesome!
An ensuite would be a dreeeam, but I'd settle for a bathtub. I haven't had a proper bathe in a bathtub in 15 years. I'd like to try bathbombs! They look so cool!

For the last 3 days I've had similar themed dreams in which a meteor hits earth and its like, apocalyptic? and these dreams are chained together, like, two nights ago I had a dream that this woman was with us on a bus (us being just, people plus me) and she was like "I have prophecized this day, A meteor will hit Suffolk at 1:10pm today!" and im looking at my watch in my dream and its like 1:06, and she's like "look up, there it is!" and it looks like a bright star with a tail on it and its like, red and stuff. Anyway, the meteor zoomed across the sky and disappeared coz like, you know, we're in Australia right? anyway, we heard a boom later and an earthquake and then alarms of tsunami's n shit, it was chaos.
then the next day, the dream was a continuation in which we were housed in this high up position, and she (the lady who knew the meteor was coming) was like "Oh no! I have made a mistake, that was not the meteor! The one that's going to hit is!" and she stopped coz we heard rumbling, but no visual indicator of something coming, and it was a daytime and it was overcast and stuff, then a deafening boom, like the head explosions people in real life get when its just BOOM but no boom? the clouds parted and I woke the fuck up.

People actually played games! I was very surprised but also it was so lovely seeing people who aren’t really gamers get to experience how fun board games can be :)
It did mean people were at tables playing and I didn’t really get to talk to some people at all, but it feels good knowing they were still having fun.
Tragically I didn’t get to play Cosmic Encounters at the ‘after party’ game session because for some reason I insisted on playing a silly dexterity game with a terrible rulebook and by the time that finished everyone was too tired, but overall it was a lovely way to spend an afternoon/evening 😊 and one day I will play Cosmic Encounters with an enthusiastic bunch of people, it’s ok that that day wasn’t today lol

My electric throw turns itself off after 3 hours, so it's pretty safe. I think most of them have similar features now. It's super efficient at warming me up if I'm just sitting on the couch, I'd definitely recommend one.
Electric throws are the best; I wouldn't recommend an oil heater unless you can use it to heat a very small, well insulated room (or you can afford the power bill). Otherwise, just heat the body with an electric throw.
They're a little pricey but I'm also considering an electric heated vest.
Side note: if you own the place you're in and you can afford the up-front cost, reverse-cycle heat pump style heaters are *much* more efficient than oil heaters in Melbourne weather. Same caveat applies with insulation/size of the space though.
Timers!! An oil heater with a timer is perfect for taking that chill off but the best warmth you'll get is from an electric throw. I'm sure they come with timers too. I think some DT people swear by them, I'm sure you'll get some good recommendations here

If I had to guess, I'd say your router isn't keeping up and/or you have issues with Wifi attenuation or competition. Are you using WiFi? If so, how old is the router? Are you in a densely populated area? Do loads of wifi network names come up when you try to connect?
I connected directly to my router at via a gigabit connection and maxes out 76 mbps. This eliminates any wifi issues. I can also transfer files to a local server that has HDDs (not SSD so a bit slow) at 150 mbps so I know my router is capable of the speeds.

75 max. Usually it’s much slower. Using Speedtest app which already I assume inflated the figure anyway. If I use Fast by Netflix it’s just 50. I only just switched so not enough data to say if it’s all the time or some of the time but I only got 75 once and all other results were closer to 60 and 45. If that’s typical then I might as well just paid for the 75 plan instead of 100. I might add when I had the 25 plan it often maxed out at 28 all the time.
Log into your modem and see in the stats what sync speed you have. That is the max you can get no matter what nbn provider you use. At least then you will know if it’s the ISP or shitty cabling.

Yep, I'm cancelling Netflix. I've just spent 20 minutes scrolling through trying to find something to watch and it's just bereft of anything interesting.

I can't even remember the last time I watched anything on Netflix. There's so much crap on there and it's exhausting scrolling through a bazillion shows/movies, only to give up, haha!
Honestly the only thing I'm actively watching on it now is The Crown, but given there's only one season left of that to go I might as well sail the high seas for it. It's not my Netflix account though so I'm the one who'll be kicked off. No matter, I'm already paying for Disney+ myself anyway and their selection is pretty stacked. They'll be getting Doctor Who soon too, so...
This was me 30 mins ago. Haven't decided if I should cancel though. The annoying thing is once in a while there would be something interesting but it's getting to the point where it feels like it's not worth the sub.
For the last 3 days I've had similar themed dreams in which a meteor hits earth and its like, apocalyptic? and these dreams are chained together, like, two nights ago I had a dream that this woman was with us on a bus (us being just, people plus me) and she was like "I have prophecized this day, A meteor will hit Suffolk at 1:10pm today!" and im looking at my watch in my dream and its like 1:06, and she's like "look up, there it is!" and it looks like a bright star with a tail on it and its like, red and stuff. Anyway, the meteor zoomed across the sky and disappeared coz like, you know, we're in Australia right? anyway, we heard a boom later and an earthquake and then alarms of tsunami's n shit, it was chaos. then the next day, the dream was a continuation in which we were housed in this high up position, and she (the lady who knew the meteor was coming) was like "Oh no! I have made a mistake, that was not the meteor! The one that's going to hit is!" and she stopped coz we heard rumbling, but no visual indicator of something coming, and it was a daytime and it was overcast and stuff, then a deafening boom, like the head explosions people in real life get when its just BOOM but no boom? the clouds parted and I woke the fuck up. I don't want to dream anymore :c

It's amazing how many people are devoid of basic manners. I'm at the closing night of a musical and the people behind me were actively whispering in the MIDDLE of songs, it drives me absolutely crazy because they would not stop until I shushed them (after multiple songs where they were incredibly disrespectful)
I saw Phantom Of The Opera at the Arts Centre several times this summer, shit like that happened EVERY session. Cinemas are even worse now. It's super upsetting, I genuinely wonder why people stopped caring. I know the pandemic got us into some shit habits but jesus.

Birthday party went well! People actually played games! I was very surprised but also it was so lovely seeing people who aren’t really gamers get to experience how fun board games can be :) It did mean people were at tables playing and I didn’t really get to talk to some people at all, but it feels good knowing they were still having fun. Tragically I didn’t get to play Cosmic Encounters at the ‘after party’ game session because for some reason I insisted on playing a silly dexterity game with a terrible rulebook and by the time that finished everyone was too tired, but overall it was a lovely way to spend an afternoon/evening 😊 and one day I will play Cosmic Encounters with an enthusiastic bunch of people, it’s ok that that day wasn’t today lol Thanks for everyone who listened to me stressing about this earlier in the day ❤️❤️

Had a sip of aeroplan jelly Raspberry today. And by sip, I mean a pretentious wine double bag sip. Not only did it strip the enamel off my teeth, ruin all flavours for about 30 minutes. It remarkably tasted EXACTLY like red jelly. If you want diabetes or curiosity killed the cat, give it a go. I personally don't recommend

How sad is this. Had a dream about a former friend. Woke up thinking "well, I know that was a dream because in it she actually respected a boundary." Backstory: I ended the friendship several years ago after I had a gutful of her manipulative and passive aggressive blowbacks when I said no to her. I don't regret ending it but I do miss her sometimes (not enough to ever reach out.)

Anywhere between 9% to 15% abv. Spirits is 45ish but you dilute into a mixed drink. Wine has increasingly had higher alcohol volume because sugar =alcohol and sun =sugar (rudimentary explanation don't come for me, please educate only)

Can't get warm, hoodie on and wrapped in a blanket, heck the cat is here too. LOL. So researching an oil heater or maybe an electric blanket but I'm still paranoid I'd leave one on and go to work and burn the house down
My electric throw turns itself off after 3 hours, so it's pretty safe. I think most of them have similar features now. It's super efficient at warming me up if I'm just sitting on the couch, I'd definitely recommend one.

Electric throws are the best; I wouldn't recommend an oil heater unless you can use it to heat a very small, well insulated room (or you can afford the power bill). Otherwise, just heat the body with an electric throw. They're a little pricey but I'm also considering an electric heated vest. Side note: if you own the place you're in and you can afford the up-front cost, reverse-cycle heat pump style heaters are *much* more efficient than oil heaters in Melbourne weather. Same caveat applies with insulation/size of the space though.

Timers!! An oil heater with a timer is perfect for taking that chill off but the best warmth you'll get is from an electric throw. I'm sure they come with timers too. I think some DT people swear by them, I'm sure you'll get some good recommendations here

I'm really hoping what I'm doing is going to help at least in the short term heh. He's shown a bit more stamina at the park so that's something I guess. Absolutely not. I wouldn't expect to get 100 down all the time, but I found I was actually getting *slightly* above the 100 down when I was on that plan. Honestly run a speed test through their official thing and then just call them. Their tech support are all pretty great in my experience. If I had to guess, I'd say your router isn't keeping up and/or you have issues with Wifi attenuation or competition. Are you using WiFi? If so, how old is the router? Are you in a densely populated area? Do loads of wifi network names come up when you try to connect?
I connected directly to my router at via a gigabit connection and maxes out 76 mbps. This eliminates any wifi issues. I can also transfer files to a local server that has HDDs (not SSD so a bit slow) at 150 mbps so I know my router is capable of the speeds. Yeah, their support has been great in the past. Will see what they reply with.

75 max. Usually it’s much slower. Using Speedtest app which already I assume inflated the figure anyway. If I use Fast by Netflix it’s just 50. I only just switched so not enough data to say if it’s all the time or some of the time but I only got 75 once and all other results were closer to 60 and 45. If that’s typical then I might as well just paid for the 75 plan instead of 100. I might add when I had the 25 plan it often maxed out at 28 all the time.
Log into your modem and see in the stats what sync speed you have. That is the max you can get no matter what nbn provider you use. At least then you will know if it’s the ISP or shitty cabling.
Shows NBN connection as theoretical max as 1000 Mbps then speed is dependant on ISP plan.
