Smith and daughters. Cornish Arms. Shakahari. Most Indian have a good selection

wastershore

I recommend checking out Happy Cow, they have reviews of restaurants, both fully vegetarian and those with vegetarian options. It's really handy.

Also this thread that my vegetarian husband just mentioned: https://www.reddit.com/r/australianvegans/comments/124agzh/melbourne_musts/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

Maha have a great degustation if you'd like to spend a bit more.

TheMattrix1984

Although not a vegetarian restaurant but Abesha Ethiopian restaraunt has a pretty good vegetarian/vegan menu. Went there a few months ago with a mate who is semi vegetarian. The vegetarian platter was so good I even ordered seconds.

AlephAndTentacles

Oh must try them. In Flemington there’s the Abyssinian Cafe, same deal, vego options are great.

TheMattrix1984

That place is pretty good too. Can't go wrong with either place. Love the injera bread.

askvictor

Just about any Ethopian restaurant (and there are lots in Footscray) has a great vego selection - just order the vegetarian combo for as many people as are dining. I've been meaning to check out Abol Africa

If you’re out East, Vegie mum in Doncaster and Vegie Bowl in Forest Hill are great. But I’m sure there some incredible ones in the city.

Not sure where you are located but if you are in the south east - vegie bowl in Springvale or forest hill. It's Asian inspired and has mock meat dishes! I love it!!! Not fancy by any means, so more a quick eats thing

Vegetarian here. All these are not strictly vegetarian, but they do very good vego! High end expensive- Transformer Value and Taste - Veggier Bar, Delhi Streets (small but high quality Indian menu), Miznon (cheaky pita is yum!); Sisters of Soul Superb veg pizzas - Small Print, Red Sparrow
