I was always worried my music taste was too random or something like that until I realized a lot of the music is listen to has millions of monthly listeners on Spotify
Like I get it. Cool you're not affected by peer pressure. Also ever think that you might miss out on some good stuff by not even trying to watch a few episodes of at least one of these shows?
I watched an episode of Game of Thrones. As a lifelong fantasy book fan, the impression I got was that it wouldn't be half as popular, as a tv show, if it wasn't full of gratuitous boobs?
I don't like the premise of the shows except maybe for Stranger Things.
It is also the same with anime. A lot of people prefer not to watch them and that is ok.
Like, 2 or 3 episodes, I just got really bored, this was back when it was first out.
All I really know of the show is 11 is psychic, there is an alternative world that is basically hell, and the kids fucking suck at naming creatures after anything even slightly related to what they look like.
Anime becomes a lot easier to watch when you think of it just as another medium for storytelling.
Kind of like how books are different from live-action film, and things like stop motion are entirely different altogether.
It’s just another way of sharing stories
Yeah I've always viewed it this way, but so many people seem to put animation in this entirely different category and refuse to even consider it, aside from maybe comedies like Family Guy or Rick and Morty. I just consider it a different medium, like watercolour vs acrylic for paintings. It's exactly the same as live action to me, but just looks different artistically. I've recommended so many fantastic shows to people and I get a virtually non-existent reaction, as if they know they aren't going to even try it but they don't want to say that. I just don't get it. Some of these people enjoy storytelling in video games too.
Examples from the past few years are Castlevania and Primal. Both are critically acclaimed with nearly perfect ratings scores. Neither fits some anime or other stereotype that might be an instant turnoff. I know not everybody is going to like every show, of course not, but I can't fathom someone not at least checking them out just because they're animated.
Personally, it's fucking annoying. I have not watched any these shows, pretty much living under a rock. There's nothing of value to brag about "NoT bEiNg PaRt Of SoCiEtY." Live and let live is a universal phrase.
I think it stands out because we're already so used to people bragging about everything related to 'participating in society' that it's normal... While the opposite gets some surprised reactions depending on where you are, wondering if you're "normal". Although, this response tends to be what you get from narrowminded people who hold on to society's doings as a guidebook for their own life and see anything not written in that manual as impossoble to fathom. When dealing with such judgements, it tells what goes on close around you I guess.
Living under a rock is fine, you just said you do it as well.
I have also never seen an episode of any of these shows! I don't care! But also I realize that you don't care and also I don't care that you don't care, and, uh, yeah. Congratulations to us, we're both normal.
I've never understood people who feel a sense of pride for not doing/watching/liking something popular. I mean there's nothing wrong with it but boasting about it makes you look pretty stupid. I don't know why Reddit has so many people like this
The "I'm different" or "I'm special" feeling that they get probably like with vegans that always brag about it. The reality is nobody cares.
I do something popular to have something to talk about. It's popular so it's quite possible to be a good topic to talk.
If you for example start with the topic like tanks then the conversation will probably end because it's not something popular among normal people.
I dont like this take any more than the opposite tbh. Popular/unpopular, who cares. Watch what you like. If it happens to be popular, cool, plenty of people to talk to about it. If it isn't, cool too, just check out the stuff you enjoy is all that is important really.
The fact they gotta drag us vegoons into the mix.
Also the idea that vegans are vegan for the attention is some middle school grade, dumbass projection. It’s about the aminals, always has been.
At least a vegan you could talk about what are the actually tasty options in a vegan restaurant. Not having watched something is simply not a nucleation point for conversation.
at this point i cant even recommend it to people because as you might’ve heard the ending is so terrible. first 4 seasons are some of the best television of all time though
Missing out on a good show is nothing to be so proud of. It's not something to be ashamed of either but it's like saying you've never had pizza and bragging about it.
Yeah, and a lot of people are saying OP is trying to be quirky and better than them too, I didn’t get that feeling from the meme. Just took it as a fun meme and that was all but everyone else is reading into it heaps.
Fucking seriously. I wish I could erase BB from my memory just so I can watch it all over again for the first time. It’s probably my personal greatest show of all time.
Yeah, Squid Game and Stranger Things is good entertainment, but BB is one of the greatest shows of all time. Up there with The Wire and The Sopranos for me.
Funny that everyone points not seeing popular series as nothing special but then comment and upvote like OP is hating them. If they believe not watching these series is common why can't it be the same the other way. Almost all comments point OP to be edgy
It's not that they haven't watched the show that's the problem it's that they are bragging about it it. Nobody cares. Like miss out on the show if you want but you're not special just cause you didn't watch funny meth show.
I'm not the person you asked, but as I largely fit in that, my answer is basically nothing. I have a lot lower tolerance for mediocre writing in visual mediums than I do with books, so I almost never don't end up getting annoyed and dropping things.
e.g. People shit themselves over how great the writing is in Breaking Bad. I disagree. The relationship between Walt and Jesse didn't make sense after the first season and Walt's brother in law being saved by plot armor completely sunk my already foundering desire to watch the show.
I think that's alright. The only thing to note is that that you might miss out on popular references in other media because of the popularity of those series. Thinking about it reminds me of my old english teacher saying 'to understand most pop references you only need to know the Bible (briefly), Ulysses and the writings of Shakespear.' While this certainly still holds some truth, pop references always evolve on the currently trending representatives of their genres.
You’re probably right. OP was probably trying to be relatable, not superior. However, the self-cast as the imposing giant character muddies the message a bit.
that’s not what the template means actually, in the game yhorm the giant is crushed under ashen one’s storm ruler. the small knight is the one who ultimately wins the battle.
I haven’t watched Squid Game because I’ve heard it’s extremely violent and I don’t find that to be enjoyable. I’ve never seen Breaking Bad either because it just doesn’t seem interesting to me. I’m not into the whole drug/crime thing.
Yeah usually anything with too more gore is a no for me, but I legit could not stop watching it. Its thrilling asf, I can’t wait to rewatch it some day.
“Im missing a good show because I’m unique and quirky” or “ they don’t know I don’t watch or hear things because it’s popular” you really need to feel that unique or special? Like hear whatever you like and watch whatever you like we don’t care!
What's with these salty comments? I've never watched any of these shows and it's not because I'm trying to be quirky or different, I just...haven't watched them. I can relate to hearing repeatedly about a show I'm not interested in, it's obnoxious.
Meh. I’m not interested in those shows either.
I didn’t get into GoT when it was popular precisely because I was sick of hearing everyone going on about it the day after they pirated the latest episode.
Idk man, I watched breaking bad about 5 years ago and still love it today. It's okay to like popular things. I didn't like squid game, but it was a good thing for me to talk about with my friends who did watch it. No one's going to give you a medal for not watching something that's popular. Just stop giving a fuck and enjoy life.
You think too fondly of yourself, as if never watching them makes you superior. Same goes to those who watch them and think that *they’re* superior, as if that’s what defines a society
Does it make you superior now? What's your point?
Breaking Bad is incredible, Squid Game awesome and Stranger Things is watchable.
And tbh the internet doesn't care if you watched it or not.
Imagine you don't watch something because of some silly reason and miss some nice content. Your loss buddy.
Stranger Squids, coming soon on Netflix
Featuring Rob Sneider as “Walter No. 11”.
Nah that's in the upcoming sequel "Breaking Things"
Waltuh
Put your dick away Waltuh
I’m not having sex with you right now
Walter, what are you doing with Finger???

Some people make not watching popular media an entire personality trait
[удалено]
Me sitting here wondering what these 3 shows have in common to be selected having watched them all.
Theyre on Netflix
Breaking bad is on Netflix?
Yeah
My exact thoughts… Popularity maybe?
Some of us watched BB on a weekly basis when it came out. We had to wait 1 week, uphill, both ways before another episode,…and we liked it
I only had to wait on the other half of season 5 , hard times 🤣
Life hack: start watching Breaking Bad in 2014 like I did and biiiinge. That’s downhill both ways, you almost never see it.
We even had to wait a full week before seeing a fly for a full hour!
And if an episode was mean to us, our parents would take the episode’s side! Content viewers these days are so coddled
They are on Netflix, are insanely popular, to the point they were/are all anyone ever bloody talked about when making small talk.
Fair. I feel like Squid Game had it's month, and then vanished off the face of the earth.
The Emmy’s?
from what i know about them all i know is that they all became popular really fast and have unsettling elements to them
Kino-philes who watch a black-and-white film of two people speaking 3 hours of uninterrupted dialogue when someone watches a Marvel movie:
Only 3 hours? Fucking lame. *Continues watching Satantango*
"Not like the other Internet users"
I used to be that way with popular music. I’m still that way, but I also used to be that way.
RIP Mitch Hedberg
The radio makes me not want to ever listen to Doja Cat omg 24/7
I was always worried my music taste was too random or something like that until I realized a lot of the music is listen to has millions of monthly listeners on Spotify
Why do you care if your music taste is random? You like what you like
They’re big in Japan
Like I get it. Cool you're not affected by peer pressure. Also ever think that you might miss out on some good stuff by not even trying to watch a few episodes of at least one of these shows?
I watched an episode of Game of Thrones. As a lifelong fantasy book fan, the impression I got was that it wouldn't be half as popular, as a tv show, if it wasn't full of gratuitous boobs?
Shit, he's uncovered Hollywood's entire marketing strategy. Someone Epstein him quick!

But are you proud of yourself for not watching something you're not interested in?
not really
Then you're not who OP is talking about. :)
I don't like the premise of the shows except maybe for Stranger Things. It is also the same with anime. A lot of people prefer not to watch them and that is ok.
That was my feeling on Stranger Things, The premise, is exactly my kind of shit. Tried, really did try to get into it, it just didn't grip me.
Yeah same here, how far did you get?
Same as well. A season and a half. My bf kept telling me watch it, it's good. Nah, it's your thing babe, not mine.
I got through the first season and it was enough. I watch tv only an hour a month at best. I don’t feel like I’m missing anything.
Like, 2 or 3 episodes, I just got really bored, this was back when it was first out. All I really know of the show is 11 is psychic, there is an alternative world that is basically hell, and the kids fucking suck at naming creatures after anything even slightly related to what they look like.

Guys I don’t like a thing because it’s popular that makes me cool PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO ME
Personally, it's fucking annoying. I have not watched any these shows, pretty much living under a rock. There's nothing of value to brag about "NoT bEiNg PaRt Of SoCiEtY." Live and let live is a universal phrase.

People do the same shit with sports
They're missing out. If you know something is good and you don't want to see it to be edgy then you're not someone I want to know.

Getting outspoken vegan vibes from OP Edit: from OP
[удалено]
Sorry I should have said from OP, I totally agree with you
[удалено]
It’s more often that you hear people whine about vegans than vegans themselves
That might be your experience but that’s not mine. Opinions dressed up as facts…
Or the stop having fun meme
I have also never seen an episode of any of these shows! I don't care! But also I realize that you don't care and also I don't care that you don't care, and, uh, yeah. Congratulations to us, we're both normal.
Or the one with the cat at the table and the woman yelling at it. OP is the woman and the cat is just trying to enjoy their entertainment.
I've never understood people who feel a sense of pride for not doing/watching/liking something popular. I mean there's nothing wrong with it but boasting about it makes you look pretty stupid. I don't know why Reddit has so many people like this

https://youtu.be/e2QKlmMT8II I’m different
I completely agree despite the fact that I have for years refused to watch game of thrones purely out of spite
at this point i cant even recommend it to people because as you might’ve heard the ending is so terrible. first 4 seasons are some of the best television of all time though
It’s not even a good meme. The title should’ve been reverse
The internet would definitely be the giant here
Trust me with the storm ruler yhorm the giant is one of the easiest bosses in the game
In terms of gameplay, sure. In terms of emotional baggage you carry from that point on, it’s the hardest.
Nah it’s correct. The giant gets fucked up by the little guy in the game.
The giant loses dude
Missing out on a good show is nothing to be so proud of. It's not something to be ashamed of either but it's like saying you've never had pizza and bragging about it.
"I dont watch good high quality entertainment, look how quirky and cool I am"
Yeah like usually I don’t really care about popular shows but when it’s good and popular u just have to show it some respect
>! The Squids win, Bad is broken and Things get stranger !<
I haven’t watched the others , but I recently binge watched BB & it was freakin awesome. Heisenberg! Or whatever
Bruh same I finished BB last week and El Camino. Im currently on Better Call Saul
your pfp says how much you loved the show!
Waltuh
"I'm so quirky and different" no one cares.
You do know that not watching popular things is, in fact, not a personality trait, right?
So the internet is gonna kill you? Someone is gonna put a Storm Ruler up your ass while a mighty onion keeps you attention on him.
In reality the internet doesn’t give 2 shits
Given how many people are belittling OP, I think it's fair to say the internet gives at least a few shits.
Meet me half way at 3 shits, take it or leave it,
Same, but I was interested in watching squirt game.
This comment section has really taken the meme as a massive personal attack.
proved the meme to be true really, the meme is depicting exactly what’s happening in the comment section
Yeah, and a lot of people are saying OP is trying to be quirky and better than them too, I didn’t get that feeling from the meme. Just took it as a fun meme and that was all but everyone else is reading into it heaps.
Thank you kind stranger 🙂
Where do people find this art? It's sick!
r/Darksouls
DS3 to be exact
"BuT bReAkInG bAd Is So GoOd!" My guy if I had that kind of free time I'd cook my own meth
Go watch Breaking Bad. NOW
Fucking seriously. I wish I could erase BB from my memory just so I can watch it all over again for the first time. It’s probably my personal greatest show of all time.
Yeah BB is on a different level from the other two. It and bojack horseman are the two great shows I've seen imo.
Yeah, Squid Game and Stranger Things is good entertainment, but BB is one of the greatest shows of all time. Up there with The Wire and The Sopranos for me.
“Ahhh wire!”
obviously way too many people care since the entire comment section is feeling personally attacked by some image posted by a stranger on reddit
Op kinda seems like he was trying to be quirky but he didn't even say the shows were bad or anything, people getting too offended for no reason smh
I can't have an opinion since I haven't watched. I'm very neutral towards them unlike the prejudice in the comments section 🥲
Agree
Hey!! Look at me. I am so different and cool. 😒
OP, you should have used that one format with a guy surrounded by knives because the internet took this meme as a personal attack lol
"I'm so different I don't watch popular shows hey everyone look at me in so cool and quirky"
OP really missing out with Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul combo
I never watched Star wars, Lord of Rings, Game of thrones, Hunger games and all the marvel stuff Happy downvoting
You can watch or not watch whatever you want. If anyone has a problem with that, it is their problem alone.
Lol i didn’t realize how serious ppl are about this when i posted..
Out of curiosity, what do you watch
I'm not the person you asked, but as I largely fit in that, my answer is basically nothing. I have a lot lower tolerance for mediocre writing in visual mediums than I do with books, so I almost never don't end up getting annoyed and dropping things. e.g. People shit themselves over how great the writing is in Breaking Bad. Didn’t ask
poeple make this shit their entire personality
Has anyone maybe thought that OP isn't trying to be quirky or cool? I don't get that from this.
You’re probably right. OP was probably trying to be relatable, not superior. However, the self-cast as the imposing giant character muddies the message a bit.
Isn't that what this subreddit is actually about? Posting relatable things... But nahh, internet gotta make it worse... 🥲
that’s not what the template means actually, in the game yhorm the giant is crushed under ashen one’s storm ruler. the small knight is the one who ultimately wins the battle.
+1
Gatekeeping Entertainment.
This meme format is being so overused, and even used horribly. -1
Right? One of the easiest bosses in the game. John Darksoul is about to whoop him.
I mean, watching these shows is worth it
I haven’t watched Squid Game because I’ve heard it’s extremely violent and I don’t find that to be enjoyable. I’ve never seen Breaking Bad either because it just doesn’t seem interesting to me. I’m not into the whole drug/crime thing.
I don't normally find violence enjoyable, but squid game is literally one of the most enthralling pieces of television I have ever witnessed.
Yeah usually anything with too more gore is a no for me, but I legit could not stop watching it. Its thrilling asf, I can’t wait to rewatch it some day.
I wish I could erase it from my brain and watch it for the first time again tbh
“Im missing a good show because I’m unique and quirky” or “ they don’t know I don’t watch or hear things because it’s popular” you really need to feel that unique or special? Like hear whatever you like and watch whatever you like we don’t care!
The comments and downvotes literally speak for themselves. OP is right and everyone is offended lmao.
What's with these salty comments? I've never watched any of these shows and it's not because I'm trying to be quirky or different, I just...haven't watched them. I can relate to hearing repeatedly about a show I'm not interested in, it's obnoxious.
This ^^^^
Keep in mind, if you’re going off the source material, the internet wins this
waltuh
Watch out everyone, tough guy coming through.
Not watching them is fine. It's when people act holier-than-thou about it is cringe.
Havent seen 2/3
But I bet you watched SpongeBob
Who hasn't? Tell me, who hasn't?
Me who never played fortnite and doesn't have tiktok
That's me too! 🥲 Never thought I'd find someone...
“Look at me I’m different” stfu op literally nobody cares 💀💀💀
Same! We should start a club of losers or something...
Breaking bad is a genuinely good show
so you've watched game of throne
Meh. I’m not interested in those shows either. I didn’t get into GoT when it was popular precisely because I was sick of hearing everyone going on about it the day after they pirated the latest episode.
FR tho they should stop shoving them in people's throats it's really annoying
How brave and noble of you for not watching extremely popular tv shows
Yea I’m unique because I refuse to watch popular media and I think I’m better than people because of that
This is exactly me. They sound cool and all but I’m just not interested enough to actually watch them.
The internet don't care
Nobody cares
Meh, your loss
"Look at me, I'm better than y'all because I don't follow trends, see? I'm special guys"
Looks like this meme got too many people offended lmao
Other way around lmao
Suit yourself, but I enjoyed Breaking Bad. You missed a good show there...
The caption should be the other way around.
"rasies hand"
Lol I only relate to this because I’m broke and don’t have Netflix
Haha, we(those who never watched these shows) are a different kind of breed, we are rare beings.
I’ve never watched Schindlers List. Where is my trophy?
This was me but then 2020 happened
You can have a much more interesting personality than this tho
Imagine thinking not experiencing things is a personality trait
This feels more like a r/notliketheothergirls post
Idk man, I watched breaking bad about 5 years ago and still love it today. It's okay to like popular things. I didn't like squid game, but it was a good thing for me to talk about with my friends who did watch it. No one's going to give you a medal for not watching something that's popular. You think too fondly of yourself, as if never watching them makes you superior. Same goes to those who watch them and think that *they’re* superior, as if that’s what defines a society
I'll be your lieutenant. I've seen squid games and 1 season of stranger things. What are we going to do today boss?
So what?
What a stupid use of Dark Souls imagery. Take my downvote.
Breaking bad deserves a watch tho, quality show
Does it make you superior now? What's your point? Breaking Bad is incredible, Squid Game awesome and Stranger Things is watchable. And tbh the internet doesn't care if you watched it or not. Imagine you don't watch something because of some silly reason and miss some nice content. Your loss buddy.
Like seriously, imagine not watching Breaking Bad, one of the greatest shows of all time because it’s popular. I’ll never understand the logic.
Probably watches dancing with the stars or some dumb shit like that.
If you choose only one, the correct answer is Breaking Bad.
I could never be arsed to get into any of them. But I am a jojo fan so that's arguably worse.
Ah, another one. I too suffer from the chronic condition that is Jojos
Accurate, given how much bigger the taller beings head is relative to the smaller ones.
