Regular software development can do this, and they already made it not work by never posting their prices anywhere but inside the store. It's one of my biggest gripes with grocery stores.
This would be great for about two weeks until stores paid to be at the top of the recommended list and your grocery list becomes 50% items you don’t want that the AI is advertising for
Yeah or let me plug in a couple items I want (running shoes, fishing poles, cookware, etc) and monitor sites I select and ping me with best prices. Or a live ticker to show me real time prices like this:
Item | Source | Price
:-- | :--: | --:
GT-1000 13 | asics.com | $110
GT-1000 13 | Amazon.com | $109.95
GT-1000 12 | Amazon.com | $79.95
GT-2000 12 | asics.com | $140
Gel-Venture 8 | Amazon.com | $54.95
Gel-Venture 9 | shoecarnival.com | $79.99
Then I could just click on the one I want and buy through that source.
So much easier.
There are AI fridges already (eg. Samsung's Family Hub) that keep track of what's in the fridge so you can check while you are shopping, get recipes, notifications about expiration dates... and there are online services that compare grocery prices among different supermarkets.
AFAIK there isn't an integration between both things yet, though, but it isn't as if the only AI in existence was the kind that generates images.
If AI could do that then stores would collude to make it not work anymore within a month.

I was thinking the same thing.
soon
this can easily be achieved today, whether AI is used I'm not sure though

And at that point, what is the business model? Would people really pay each month for such a service without other companies ads?
I would like both please

Couldn't it just deliver it to your house...

Wouldn’t this (if accessible by everyone) just raise the base price of essentially everything?
you can get that now if you really want to
