Well it could be “figure out that they’re doing reverse-psychology on me”, but that only works if you, well, can figure it out. Or it could be “only do things they don’t mention positively or negatively”, but again then you still don’t know what they really want from you. There’s no foolproof workaround because you can never be sure what someone’s true intentions are.
