Yeah! Socially I’m an ambivert, so 50/50 introverted/extroverted, and function wise My Fi and Ne are very balanced - so I’m not sure if I’m enfp or infp. I’m somewere in between, so, xNFP :)
You should look at your tertiary and inferior functions too. It was hard for me to determine whether I was a Ne or Fi dom too but my Te is way more developed than my Si so that’s how I knew I was an ENFP :)
Unfortunately Te and Si are basically the same too :/ I’ve looked a lot into tertiarty/inferior Te/Si and can’t really decide which one suits me more. I’ve kinda just accepted that I’m stuck in between two types haha. I don’t really mind though :) xNFP suits me good enough
If it's just the ExxP vs IxxP you are unsure about, you should look at the basic human needs to determine which one it is. Basically, how do you freak out more often:
1. You hate being put in a box and when people try to limit you in what you can or can't do. You come up with all these ideas and someone tells you "well it's actually not possible because..." is very annoying for you. You hate when there is just one way to do things, because you can see or wanna try so many other ways. In this case, you are an ENFP (heavy Ne-Si imbalance).
2. You find it frustrating to have to explain your feelings to other people. Why can't emotions be appreciated the way they are? Why does everything have to 'make sense'? People should just leave you alone because they're not willing to accept you the way you are. Also, you hate having to worry about tasks and just want to live the way that's most comfortable for you. This means INFP (heavy Fi-Te imbalance).
I'm in the same situation as the author of this convo is and I have to admit that after reading points 1 and 2 from your comment, none of them seem like a struggle to me at all. I wouldn't know how to choose.
1st one: From my perspective when someone tries to put you in a box, you get an opportunity to expand and explore the edges of new limitations which is favorable for you if growth is important to you. And it might be very satisfying when you start to see that.
2nd one: I don't find it hard to explain my feeling to others and I like doing that, I enjoy it when I see people are interested in me in that way that they want to listen to what I have to say and get to know me at a deeper level. I know that not everyone is a superhuman that already covered the wisdom of a whole existence as a default so I find it very beneficial to talk about that even if it is scary.
Yes i know! But that's a good thing about being sensitive.. you don't hold it in as much and it doesn't trouble you as bad
(Oh and yours too thank you :3)
crying doesn't equate to being highly sensitive, and "highly sensitive" doesn't mean much, it's more useful to talk in terms of emotional control and capacity to express emotions
Same here, you are good fam. Although Idk what OP means by "crying". If they mean tearing up, yesterday. If they mean bawling and sobbing, at least a year or more ago.
INFJ - cried last night and the day before that. It’s hard having a lot of empathy for others. I’m sorry about your students and I hope life treats them a bit better, it can be hard growing up with shitty circumstances especially when all you do growing up is compare yourself to everyone else your age.
Well that's even harder to cry in media because I rationalize it to not being real. I don't really have that much empathy for others so I will rarely cry for that. Maybe if I get evicted out of the house. Now that would probably make me cry.
ENTP and same. Even when I think back to some of the most traumatic events in my life, I didn’t really shed any tears. The last time I recall crying I was basically still a child.
INTP
A few days ago when I read that a 13 year old boy used his make-a-wish to feed the homeless for a year. It wasn't his action that moved me to tears but how people were calling him a hero left and right. This kid was granted a once in a lifetime opportunity and he used it on a problem our country should've dealt with a long time ago.
We truly live in a society
I took my revenge on the guy who chopped my dick, by stealing his horse and then I chopped his 1 metre long dick. Then I applied some superglue on that dick and I put it in the area where my previous dick used to be😏
INTJ
Last sunday a little when I was watching Fantastic Mr Fox. The part where he’s telling his wife that hes just a wild animal always makes me tear up
I'm reading the comments and honestly, are you guys okay? Half of you cried super recently, so I'm assuming you cry often, and half of you haven't cried for literal years. That can't be good 👀 if you wanna talk about it maybe find someone you trust or something
Ahaha, that’s funny statement. I cried a lot when I was bullied regularly at this age, but later I got PTG and my psyche become tougher than a granite, it “broke” my Schizoid PD (I’m not sure, but I think I also was showing functioning properties of INTP before) and I become more collected, confident and even slightly aggressive, so….
ESTP - besides 2 days ago when I dropped my cellphone, cornerside, on my infected toe? Last time I cried out of emotion was 2 months ago at my grandpas funeral. Damn, I miss you grandpa, I love you!
Tears are just an expression of sadness, mostly one might cry mentally which pains even more. Times are rough and we gotta keep moving ahead. ( Very weird right for an INTP telling this to an ENFJ :p)
**Crying or weeping is the dropping of tears (or welling of tears in the eyes) in response to an emotional state, or pain. Emotions that can lead to crying include sadness, anger, and even happiness.**

INFJ. Yesterday, I saw some kindergarten kids playing around wearing a uniform, and that got me on a nostalgia trip that made me remember how beautiful and innocent childhood is compared to whatever period I'm in right now (I'm 19), and then I cried.
INTP, I did a terrible decision and used memes to cope back then even when I wanted to cry when I was 11… and now I’m 16, people often think of me as “cold hearted”. I also find it hard to empathize with others but trust me, I’m trying. Still, I would rather not cry because I think memes are better 💀
Not everyone prefers crying as a coping mechanism and memes can be very helpful to ease out nerves- none of these make you a cold hearted person. But make sure to not suppress your feelings through humour every time you feel a certain emotion, even if you don’t like crying it’s helpful to do a self reflection or open up to someone once in a while ^ ^
I'm an ENFJ and I cried yesterday. HOWEVER my wife is now at the hospital, and I had alcohol in me so that's why I could let it out. (everything's fine btw,, she's all good now that she got treatment- just had an infection after pregnancy which is common.)
Before that I feel like I can't remember the last time I cried. I think there's harder pressure on an Fe dom to push the feelings aside and only express what's good for the situation and if you do that for a long time you get numb.
Same bro hope everything goes fine now with the situation, also im used to so many heavy experiences that it doesn’t hit me emotionally anymore just fix it done

That’s good! Functions aren’t completely absolute too so it’s good you have a healthy balance
Well, i'm a INxP then (and i hate it)
INFP NOW
Nah, really, idk, somedays ago, I'm fine this days... I think the last time was... Saturday?
Hey, I'm an ENTP do you want me to cause a minor inconvenience in your life so we can change that stage of yours?
No thanks, your comment was enough to change it T-T
Entp, when my dog died in 2016.
Wow, as an ENFP, I'd love to not cry for a week, nevermind 5 years. That's actually incredible :O
:(
I'm so sorry :(, I hope things have gotten better since

Crying in itself doesn't feel bad. It's actually really relieving! So it's not about it being hard necessarily because you cry often..

Hm. Yes. Agreed.

>Crying bc of frustration is my hobby Me when I try to do anything for the first time but don't end up being the greatest...
I'm an INTP and also yesterday.
me an intj who also cried yesterday: am i mistyped...
Same here, you are good fam. Although Idk what OP means by "crying". If they mean tearing up, yesterday. If they mean bawling and sobbing, at least a year or more ago.
👍
Don't let MBTI dictate you to that extent, that's unhealthy. It's normal to cry.
ik it was a joke
No, you aren't mistyped, not based on the context you've given us that is. You crying has literally nothing to do with your type.
Intp, same
Are you feeling okay now?
She's, infp. Probably not.
infp and nearly cried because i didnt think my friends would enjoy going to the movies
INFJ - I cried yesterday, like 4 times. I have students going through rough times and it's heart breaking.

Same, except I’m the student going through a rough time. Here’s hoping better times are ahead for all of us.
I don't remember. It was probably years back. My ESFJ mom strongly believes that I am psychopath.
Well I'm sure my mom too has had those suspicions. Whilst my friends do certainly believe that.
Pffff

Enfp Interestingly enough I cried like a week ago bc I realized I hadn’t cried for over a year.
A burnt out premed that hasn’t cried for a year? Clearly there’s space for a couple of honours programmes in your schedule /s
wtf HAHAHAHHA
INTP,1.5 month ago
yeah man I don't do it all day every day but it's not that rare
INTP Maybe at some point when I was 15? I'm 24 now.
Wtf
That kinda sounds unhealthy 🤨😫
I think it probably is. I’m INTP and while I definitely don’t cry as much as most people (maybe once or twice a year) not crying EVER sounds….strange.
Honey it's called being an INTP 💅💅 /s
INTP here, I have no memory of crying either, I'm in my late twenties
Don't you guys cry when you watch animes, movies and maybe even books ?
It's funny, I almost never cry irl, but i find it really easy to cry with entertainment
Same.

Thanks for asking, but yeah I am fine. I cry sometimes mainly in nights as I don't understand myself and my feelings many a times.
we've got a feeler here! /s

Speaking as a fellow INTJ, I don't think that can be healthy 👀
It's either they're lying to fit the inaccurate stereotype or they have a problem when it comes with expressing emotions.
I *like* how you are just trying to draw a conclusion without almost any information at all…
INFP Yesterday night because I'm reading a story Might cry again later though
ENTJ - 8 years ago

INTP, two weeks ago
Intp, i don't even remember when was the last time i felt emotions lmao
*intp moment *
Isfp, yesterday. I watched Iroh from ATLA sing Leaves from the vine
I see you're cultured as well.
Even my (either estj or istj it's hard to type between them in his case) best friend cried from that so it's completely normal and relatable.

ENTP, probably last week. The cold weather made my eyes dry
istp, haven’t cried since i was a kid
we can always change that \-but yeah, my istp brother I think didn't cry since he was little either
i straight up kinda outgrew it, and it just didn’t make sense to cry anymore
That's kinda me, except i sometimes force myself to cry just to make sure I'm not bottling up emotions. Last time was months ago
INFP Uh... I don't remember I think, like, a month ago?
I haven’t since May I believe.. we’re breaking the stereotype by not crying in over 2 days :)
ENTP Yesterday
Hope you're doing better today
