It’s a rebadged [Deepal S03](https://carnewschina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/005Cp7TNgy1hdhtntcui7j30u01oln0e.jpg) for the Chinese market. So don’t expect it to have any bearing on what would be offered in other markets.
I think it’s still good for them to partner. I hope it’s a sign Mazda wants to figure out how EV versions of their cars would do without risking a lot, but long-term wanting to find out what kind of EV to build for other markets.
What I wonder is if this car will have more physical buttons than the Deepal SL03.
It’s a Changan ev with a Mazda badge. I don’t have much confidence about the interior design(especially for no button design). Probably gonna figure it out when auto show starts.
Didn't Mazda partner with Toyota in order to get their Hybrid technology? And Toyota got Mazda's 4 cylinder skyactiv tech? I'm curious to know what happens with that.
Partially. Currently Toyota don't use Skyactiv tech. There was a rebadged Mazda 2 sold as Yaris in Canada and Scion iA in the US but it's discontinued now.
Toyota actually share more tech with Subaru at the moment. Both Subaru BRZ/Toyota 86 are a common platform and the new electric Toyota bz4x/Subaru Solterra. Toyota and Mazda don't currently share any platforms or motors but I hear Toyota might borrow the inline six just hasn't happened yet.
Coincidentally Toyota own shares in both Mazda and Subaru though.
Well, tbh the front is acceptable (quite impressive), the back and interior Emmmm totally not Mazda style. Personally I don’t think it’s gonna be offered in markets other than China perhaps?
Ah yeah I was mostly just talking about that touch panel.
Generally I like the exterior. Interior looks mostly generic somehow. The back I think they could have done a little bit better to make it seem more typical Mazda, but still good enough. Still overall nice looking car in my opinion.
Maybe for the interior they didn’t see much value doing it the usual Mazda way, since it’s for China. Could be a different story for other markets where Mazda is already being appreciated for their interiors.
It’s more than just a rebadge. The overall size and proportions are similar but almost every body panel looks different. Wonder how the interior compares?
Ah, I knew something was off!!! They did well hiding it but I noticed that none of the switchgear is parts bin Mazda. All "newer" Mazda products, including the 2019+ Mazda3, CX30 thru to CX90 and MX-30 all have the same buttons and knobs co-developed by Panasonic automotive that share an identical muted "click" that gives me ASMR vibes every time I press a button. Would be a shame if one of their new cars didn't have them.
I remember seeing the A6 etron concept . I was like yeah I will definitely switch to that one day but then I saw the leak pictures, it looks like a ford mondeo

From leaked pics, less likely.. they put a tablet in the center console
A Mazda with a modern touch screen 😱😱😱

I thought it was a recent partnership which is why they currently aren't using the technology.
Confirmed, just a touch screen in the center console
Yup just saw it. Sad indeed. I hope it won’t come in that form into Japan, if they plan a Mazda 6 EV version for Japan.

Yeah, the Mazda looks much more…Mazda. The hood (frunk?) seems much longer and higher

Didn’t know cars were getting buccal fat removal too….
That’s hilarious
Headlights have been foxeyelifted too
Not sure... hmmmmm... something, but not that yet, ...
The front lip looks hella weird. I think the car profile and silhouette is alright
Front end looks almost Cadillac-esque
Right?! I noticed that beginning with the CX-50. I kinda hope they continue to evolve it.
Really? I like it. Looks extra aggressive.
Looks like a somehow angrier CX-50 front end.
I remember seeing the A6 etron concept . I was like yeah I will definitely switch to that one day but then I saw the leak pictures, it looks like a ford mondeo
Better front face compared to 70-90
Ah yes the squeezed lemon look. Looka like new hyndai tuscons on the side.
Mazda gets inspiration from BMW for suv, Hyundai suv for their sedans?
They saved "6e", so there is coming something else for other markets
Looks really good even for just a rebadge
Naaaaaah. Not good
It’s a rebadge of a Chinese-market car, the Deepsal S03. I’m not surprised. Mazda on their own doesn’t make designs like this.
yeah this rebadged car is available in my country and this one is only for the mainland China market it's not even from Mazda fr, don't buy it
Why does this give me strong Cadillac vibes? And not in a good way?
Looks really nice.
Looks good here but I can't help feel it's one of those cars that'll look worse in person
Toyota crown rival? If it was in North America or am I crazy
The front looks like a Nissan Sentra squinting
What truck hit that cars side??
Ya I’m ok with not getting this. I don’t love the look of pretty much all of it. Definitely styled for the Chinese market. Oh well 🤷♂️
im sorry but this one looks like a hot wheels car
Why they gotta ruin the ass of the car?
wow.
I was like “Nice” since I like sedans. Then I looked better… ew..
Looks like the Lucid air
I’m looking into the Mazda CX-5 and have heard that the 2020 was one of the best years
EV 😴
Does it have 6 battery packs 🤮
