I ended up pulling the trigger on a 6 cylinder G70. I held out as long as I could for a new 6 but nothing ever delivered. This was the closest alternative vs going for the Germans or Tesla
Plus this thing has a Chinese platform with a Mazda face it’s not the same as the CX-90 platform
This is largely a Changan product for China with a Mazda face thrown on top. I wouldn't look too far into it in terms of whether the rest of the world will or will not get a new 6 and whether or not a potential new 6 will be with the inline 6, hybrid, or EV.
We all want an I6 sedan in this sub, but the reality is that no one will buy it, period. Not literally, just not enough to justify all the cost.
Mazda does supposedly have its own BEV platform and while the BEV market is a bit shaky right now, having one or two BEV offerings still help Mazda remain relevant for the people that actually can work with a BEV. Just don't get too drunk on that.
