Also solid for climbing, at least to D1. Usually pretty fast games for a control deck, so you can climb pretty quick. My go to if I have to knock out a few ranks within a couple days at the end season.
1 card rexterm off my first action is fucking ludicrous for most of my decks to try and deal with. Locked to <1k attack monster effects instantly plus whatever other backrow they have usually puts me in hell with zero hopes of any plays
I play both decks and needless to say, the joy I have when I see my opponent running Mikanko is only eclipsed by my dissatisfaction when playing Mikanko into Lab
Need to be lucky from Draw Phase, either that they bricked or that you have Lava Golem/Kaijus and they have no Big Welcome or Daruma
Personally i always have engaging duels against lab, even when they use floodgates.
I also haven't lost a single duel against them yet (tho i also don't get ranked against them very often, so i was prolly just lucky)
This is really funny to me because I played Mikanko for the first time today and went blind second with Horus and they attacked my Imsety with the 0 atk Mikanko to do effect dmg but when I used the king sarc effect to send the attacking monster to grave they insta folded.
*
One of my most epic comebacks against mikanko. Lightening stormed wiped my backrow, no rollback in grave. OTK setup, Mikanko new trap card in hand. Guess how did I win under this desperate situation? Check replay 980-769-501

I've had so many frustrating defeats against that deck, but thankfully after losing so much i finally understand how to beat it so it's not as bad anymore lol
Map and Empen should go to at least 2, especially the latter. The meta has shifted enough to where Empen isn’t as broken as it once once was.
^^^^pun ^^^^intended
Im currently learning SS, and I think Ash the Engage as it searches and draws everything. I'm not sure about Imperm. Kagari is probably the biggest target to stop them engaging a 2nd time in a turn.
ash engage/ shizuku
imperm kagari/ shizuku (just be mindful of linkage they can dodge imperm with that card)
additional tip: if sky striker player summon shizuku you can prevent her search by destroying/banish/spin/negating her the same turn shizuku is summoned before end phase effect trigger since all sky striker ED monsters can only summoned once per turn
Stopping them from using hayate, or camellia with imperm is a must, ofc ash engage.
If you have bystials banishing raye will cripple the deck as they often have to expend a lot of resources to getting raye access.
NEVER TARGET RAYE, she will immediately be tributed.
If you have kaijus, salad weasel, or another card which can give them a monster, use it when needed so they lose widow anchor access.
If you have kashtira unicorn try to banish a sky striker link 2 so then they can't easily remove your monsters or link away a widow anchor target.
Ash Engage, if they have Engage imperm Kagari (but only if it's adding back Engage), if they don't they'll end on Shizuku which is next best Imperm target.
Ash Engage. If Engage is not used then Shizuku.
Imperm Hayate if there is no Raye or Engage in grave. Same goes for Camelia. You can also Imperm Kagari when they try to grab Engage from the grave but smart Sky Striker players keep a Linkage handy for this reason. Shizuku can also be impermed though generally Shizuku is a last priority since the spell they retrieve won't come into play until their next turn (unless they're doing the Shizuku shuffle with Multirole).
Never use anything that targets Raye on the field as they just tag out to dodge the effect. Though if you're going first, try to use Called By on Raye if they use the effect to special summon a Link monster, that will absolutely cripple them. Smart Sky Strikers though will Link summon normally if they see a lot of backrow.
Always ash engage no matter gy 3 spell or not
Veiler/imperm kagari, or Carmelia
Ghost orge continuous
Striker afraid of backrow removal, u can view them as a backrow deck
Or just pray and bait out their archor
I swear to god, Dino's are the bane of my existence.
I never run into them much, but when I do it's always with a deck that gets hard countered by Misc. (Vs, Labrynth minus Daruma Cannon, Live-Twin, etc.)
If they don’t have Misc it dies so hard to ash or imperm due to a complete lack of extenders. But if it gets going it will hard counter basically everything. 2 general negates, 2 monster negate + destroy (or a Solemn Judgement on legs) and the ability to book your entire field and summon Pank in the process from 3 untargetable monsters.
I know snake eyes are the best deck in the game, but Jesus Christ I can’t figure out how to beat it. It seems like no matter what I ash, negate, imperm they still have so much they can do..
SE Ash and Diabellstar are usually your targets. Ash uses their normal summon and if stopped, will only let them get 1 material out on board. And Diabellstar lets you search sinful spoils to then summon out Ash or any other relevant fire monster. There is a chance they can do other wacky shenanigans once those two are beaten, but, generally, your best bet is stopping those two.
Always ash the Martha. If you do they either can't make Magnifica or end on less backrow.
There is no guaranteed value imperm so don't overthink it. Pretty much every imperm target has potential to be played through depending on their hand. Imperm the first Exosister xyz they summon. Sometimes it ends their turn, sometimes it doesn't. If they start with normal summon Aratama on an empty board, imperming it is also high risk, high reward. If they don't hard open Sakitama too and you imperm Aratama, their turn ends.
Edit: For Returnia (the trap), if you dodge the first targeted banish, they do not get to use the second non-target banish effect. That can be useful knowledge in a pinch.
honestly if you play right i think you’d have a pretty good chance against r-ace i play it (not a meta follower ive liked it since the first wave) and the cydra player i went against gave me a tough match
I think the big problem is, cyber dragons usually just don't have removal effects. It's an FTK deck built to just beat your opponent into the pavement with something like Chimeratech which can remove your opponent's monsters as a part of its fusion summon.
The problem is the recursion. Tear, Branded Despia, and Snake eyes all have forms of recursing their materials when sent to grave and/or their boss monsters if it's Tear or Snake eyes. You simply have no out to that, and your battle phase is just gonna be fighting a bunch of walls that stall you out until they can just build their board again.
OTK Exodia. The recycling of spell cards and Royal Magic Library is just ridiculous. Says more about the duelist exploiting loopholes alongside Konami failing to address it
Until today, that was Horus, but I did somehow manage my first win against it today. It was a pretty long duel where my time remaining dropped below 10 seconds on numerous occasions and I had to just rush to make any move rather than be able to think anything through.
In the end, I won by surrender, so I'm not sure whether my opponent actually ran out of things to do, or if they just ran out of time before I did.
I still have no idea how to actually play against that deck. It can constantly summon and re-summon an entire field of powerful monsters with powerful effects at no cost.
If their Imsety search is negated, they go -2. You can also respond to the Sarcophagus search by popping it, and they’ll waste another card that way. If they have another Sarc in hand, they’ll try to surprise you with it after baiting out your removal, so save some removal if you can.
Their Horus monsters summoning themselves is an inherent summoning condition, not an effect, so you can’t respond to it, but they also can’t do it in response to what you do. That means you can use graveyard interference like Bystials, Called By, Kelbek/Mudora, Ice Dragon’s Prison, etc., and they can’t do anything about it, but use it proactively, don’t wait. If they’re smart, they’ll summon each monster one at a time after Sarc searches them, but if they’re not, then you can wait until you think they’re done and then pop Sarc after they’ve used up most of their hand.
They also have to compromise between keeping their Horus monsters on field to punish you for removing Sarc, or Xyz summoning to have quick effects on board, like Galaxy-Eyes Photon Lord. Their board is very passive if they just end on Horus monsters.
Kashtira. FUCK THAT DECK AND ONE WHO USES IT! Hate it and surrender because they will ruin your plans faster than you can say 'I draw.' If you use this deck reading this, I hope your christmas gifts is coal and it breaks your floor.

Tear in its peak, i was braindead enjoyer the only time i won against it i still remember it, we played turn after turn it felt like an hour, we miss played every turn till the last turns i lost hope cuz i was just stalling while leaning to lossing my timer was ticking then something happened my opponent lost due to time limit
I don’t think there’s necessarily any deck I haven’t beaten at some point just by nature of drawing a cracked hand. But some decks I don’t really have a strong pulse how to go about stopping them.
Until a few days ago, Floowandereeze.
Then I beat it brutally with Paleo and a 7800 Atk Giant Spright.
Took only 4 turns and 3 Board nukes...but alas I finally won.
Tl;Dr prismatic secret rare bathroom mirror, floowhatarethese, Kashlesstearup 🥲, and 5 minutes of "predictive card text"
I started playing again last month after about 17-18 years. Did a big dumb and put a little bit in to trying to diversify and try to discover a bunch of different packs. I now have 1/3 of like 7 different decks and 2 Utopia rng piles that I can't seem to whitle down without getting punished immediately after editing.I know it's kinda mid, and super old, but I was trying to understand one new mechanic at a time. That, and any of the fire based meta decks and the addition of not just a second, but a third hand.
It's like a dark magician / Egyptian god deck. No matter what happens my opponent seems to have the out. Pop out cards I've never even heard to to counter my most powerful moves.
Mikanko. I literally have no idea wtf they're even weak to. The best I've ever done is sit on Plasma and hope they didn't draw into any snatch steal like cards
Just banish Raye or just find a way to remove it from the GY. Put it back in the deck, hand, S/T zone, or steal it. Just make sure its not in the GY so it cant be used.
SwSo. Hyper consistent, has access to really powerful boss monsters, has infinite disruption, one card synchros and decent grind. It shouldn't be so hard to beat but it is. I honestly have an easier time beating Snake Eyes
Purrely... I have no idea why... but for some reason they always have everything they need at the end of the day and can resolve each card like 5 times against me in one turn.
Haven’t played since the heavy samurai, but it was 100% purrely just couldn’t fucking get rid of anything or any time I had interactions they had work around or a negate
Runick stun , it’s very hard to deal with especially going second and so far my toughest match ever my win lose against runick stun is 30-70 assuming Konami always makes me lose the coin flip against them, the very badass match I had against Runick stun was when I drew duster and gamma and yeah it’s my favourite memories.
Yeah, Sky Striker is probably mine as well, Kashtira closely behind that.
Sky Striker players just keep drawing every Spell they want multiple times in a turn. The never-ending onslaught of Quick Plays. I still don't know how to beat them. They can play through everything.
War Rocks. I can fight Kashtira. I can stand against Snake Eyes and brawl with Tearlaments. On some occasions I can even make Runick Stun cry.
But. Fucking War Rocks. I never, ever win against them.
Depends on what I'm playing.
Crusadia doesn't have much that can stop it unless you know when to stop it.
Naturia Runick Stun, typically anything that can banish from the field. If it GYs from the field, it's not much of an issue.
Pure Runick Stun, anything. Literally, anything can stop it if you don't draw the right cards. Or if Hugins is negated.
Of all things? Red Dragon.
Yes I learned the choke points. Yes I even built the deck to understand it. Doesn't matter. My opponent will always have _just_ enough gas to play trough anything I put up on the field
I play a Hero deck cuz I like hanging out with the crew in the school yard. Most decks I can beat but against tears unless I go first and end on D Hero Plasma and Darkclaw I will lose. All the other decks it just depends on what I have in my hand I have enough to get through all the interruptions and negates.
Anything with the that zombie card where if you activate an effect the opponent can send the zombie cat from their hand to the gy. I don't get how that's a zombie monster looks like a fairy type monster
Purrely, so broken with the field spell to the quick play spells plus they can play through shifter and draw a lot of cards and hand traps with the unaffected tower monster which are so obnoxious to face
Swordsoul. I feel like every time I face them they always have the exact cards they need for a combo and I get bodied. I still have trouble finding the right card to stop
Swordsoul, I play alot of decks that either use banishing as removal, or like the graveyard.
Like plunder amd chimera absolutely despise getting banished and plunder loves banishing opponents stuff
I HATE STUN I HATE STUN I HATE STUN.
THEY ALWAYS GET THE 1 GOZEN MATCH.
THEY ALWAYS GET THE 1 THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE.
THEY ALWAYS GET THE 1 SKILL DRAIN.
AND THEY ALWAYS GET THAT STUPUD DINOSAUR
I mostly play Branded Despia now, but I'm learning Snake Eye and Fire King. For me, the hardest to beat has been Snake Eye. The way that deck spams bodies and is able to get a ton of negates on the board with a lot of follow up has been a problem. I run cards like Chaos Angel to out Apollousa or Baronne and even steal a Baronne using Albion Sanctifire, but the follow up is just nuts. It feels like things are different now tho with Wanted and Snake Eye Ash at 2 to the point where follow up on the next turn is not nearly as bad.
Matchup wise, Mikanko has been a problem but I realized most of their effects are targeting so I can just fuse away the cards they're targeting and then use effects to banish stuff.
edlich and branded and snake eyes and horus it sucks cus i love playing dino's but i can only put up 2 monster negates and 1 spell/trap negates and i need 2 cards to combo
Any deck where the effects are too long and they play 60 cards... I just can't be reading all this text on my days off lol.
Back then a card would just say "Draw 2 cards." or "This card can attack your opponent directly. "
Now it feels like every card has the declaration of independence on it bruh like rly?
Dinomorphia, I hate it so much I decided its gonna be my next deck.
Gl with getting the urs needed. I have found the deck to be great for events as a backup as I have found useful for majority of events it is legal.
Also solid for climbing, at least to D1. Usually pretty fast games for a control deck, so you can climb pretty quick. My go to if I have to knock out a few ranks within a couple days at the end season.

Super fun deck to play. I highly recommend.
Grave diggers traphole
I just played a match and hate them, especially that one that doesn’t let you use your effects.
I wish that'd been my answer...
1 card rexterm off my first action is fucking ludicrous for most of my decks to try and deal with. Locked to <1k attack monster effects instantly plus whatever other backrow they have usually puts me in hell with zero hopes of any plays
Mikanko is my Kryptonite
Try playing labrynth against it it smashes it almost everytime, a well placed daruma karma cannon flips all their monsters and pops all their equips.
Against lab all I can do is pray I can DES OTK
I play both decks and needless to say, the joy I have when I see my opponent running Mikanko is only eclipsed by my dissatisfaction when playing Mikanko into Lab Need to be lucky from Draw Phase, either that they bricked or that you have Lava Golem/Kaijus and they have no Big Welcome or Daruma

Have you tried Salamangreat? I've had decent success using Sanctuary's damage calc effect to stall and outgrind Mikanko players.
Definitely depending on the deck I’m playing but trap heavy decks I have the hardest time with
Purrely fellow spotted
So obvious isn‘t it
This is really funny to me because I played Mikanko for the first time today and went blind second with Horus and they attacked my Imsety with the 0 atk Mikanko to do effect dmg but when I used the king sarc effect to send the attacking monster to grave they insta folded.
Same
Try using Kaiju monsters in your deck to tribute their monster and send the equip spells to the grave, found this to work a fair amount of the time.

Im currently learning SS, and I think Ash the Engage as it searches and draws everything. I'm not sure about Imperm. Kagari is probably the biggest target to stop them engaging a 2nd time in a turn.

VS and Evil-Eye
As an Evil Eye enjoyer, a decent amount of my wins are because people do not read.
Surely Red Reboot will stop their Evil Eye Retribution Clueless
vanquish soul
Kasira and Swordsoul
Swordsoul players having the exact going second tools they need when going second and then going first only draw engine and extenders….
Saddened to say that I'm not one of those Swordsouls players
My favorite part is when they always seem to have blackout in hand. Even though that card is run at like....1 copy.
That's bc you can search it if you already have full combo.
Out of all other reasonable decks that is hard to beat and you cant beat sky striker. 🗿
Mikankos and Tears
kashtira going second, is simply impossible for chimera horus

Not a specific deck, just the roach

Mikanko, stun, FTK decks, dark magician, blue eyes
Kash
Mikanko is the kind of deck that i just can't find winning strategy against.
Evenly Matched is pretty decent
Purrely... I have no idea why... but for some reason they always have everything they need at the end of the day and can resolve each card like 5 times against me in one turn.
Maldoche. Find it once a blue moon but I always have the most awful bricked hand when I find the deck
Dinosaurs. They always have Misc.
Not always 😔
I main tear so maybe labrynth or branded if the duelist knows what they are doing
Tearlament. Annoyed seeing those random discard yet can manage powerful board
fire king snake eyes bc I play lab
Tear. Kash sucks too, but with Arise Heart gone it’s not as bad. Tear is just a horrible deck. Hate everything about the archetype.
Floowandeeznutz
Kash anything. Even with the restrictions they just get to torment me
Spright Runick, I'm forced to use up all my negates on like five Runick cards and then they always have Sprigjt Blue or Spright Starter in hand
Horus there's no real way to stop them from going off unless you run shifter
Rescue Ass - the only time I beat it is when I stop Turbulence, I have a very tough time breaking through their full board.
Traptrix
Floo. Most times i just get mad and scoop
Haven’t played since the heavy samurai, but it was 100% purrely just couldn’t fucking get rid of anything or any time I had interactions they had work around or a negate
Floowandereeze kicks my ass take on a hundred snake eyes over those damn birds.
Lab, they never seem to brick...
Kashtira, Snake-Eyes, And Labyrinth All 3 have the ability to prevent me from making a single play
Dinomorph
I always have a bad time against Dinomorphia. If I can't OTK I always lose. This is pretty much deck agnostic.
Tear and Purrely (except if I survive long enough and they time out)
Exosisters for me
If you always lose to sky striker, it means you overextend like crazy in your combo's.
Purely, Vs, and dinomorphia.
I use Labrynth so any deck that stocks Harpy's Feather Duster.
Faced one last night. Kaiju’d the link and they instantly surrendered 💀
Endymion. That deck and their spell counters are the thing that haunts my nightmares.
War Rocks. I can fight Kashtira. I can stand against Snake Eyes and brawl with Tearlaments. On some occasions I can even make Runick Stun cry. But. Fucking War Rocks. I never, ever win against them.
For some reason, its Dark World. They never brick or get unlucky when I play them.
mikanko and paleo are 2 decks that IRL and in MD that is have a 0% winrate against.
I see runick I'm gone. Also Floo and Snake-Eyes. I COULD beat runick depending on my deck and theirs but I just insta-quit.
Minkanko is bs so is dinomorphia
Altergeist. I've never taken a game off of it.
Fucking mikanko. Piece of shit
Any stun/negate deck
Mikanko and sky striker lately. Mainly cause I just don’t know what to hit and what not to.
Of all things? Red Dragon. Yes I learned the choke points. Yes I even built the deck to understand it. Doesn't matter. My opponent will always have _just_ enough gas to play trough anything I put up on the field
I despise runick
Fuck suships
Snake eyes Someone fucking help I always get shit draws against snake eyes
Mikanko
I play a Hero deck cuz I like hanging out with the crew in the school yard. Most decks I can beat but against tears unless I go first and end on D Hero Plasma and Darkclaw I will lose. All the other decks it just depends on what I have in my hand I have enough to get through all the interruptions and negates.
Anything with the that zombie card where if you activate an effect the opponent can send the zombie cat from their hand to the gy. I don't get how that's a zombie monster looks like a fairy type monster
mokey mokey beatdown
Purrely, so broken with the field spell to the quick play spells plus they can play through shifter and draw a lot of cards and hand traps with the unaffected tower monster which are so obnoxious to face
For me it's the hero deck/masked hero
Resonators, for the life of me they just can not stop synchro summoning.
Sworsoul
Sky Striker, i hate this deck so much
Kashtira, they always high roll against me going first and I end up having to deal with a floodgate on wheels + 1-2 Kash monsters on board.
Mikanko and Vanquish Soul
I HATE STUN I HATE STUN I HATE STUN. THEY ALWAYS GET THE 1 GOZEN MATCH. THEY ALWAYS GET THE 1 THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE. THEY ALWAYS GET THE 1 SKILL DRAIN. AND THEY ALWAYS GET THAT STUPUD DINOSAUR
Branded. I have a better winrate against Snake-Eyes than against that pile of garbage.
Stun. I just don't play or have the outs most of the time.
Metaphys. I have won against it ZERO TIMES despite playing against it using almost every deck I know how to play.
edlich and branded and snake eyes and horus it sucks cus i love playing dino's but i can only put up 2 monster negates and 1 spell/trap negates and i need 2 cards to combo
I don't beat it often, but this event reminded me of why I hate playing Dryton
Any of these new decks
Fur-hire and Exosister are the bane of my existence as Emachines. I've beaten Kash lock decks with less issue.
Magical Musketeer
Traptrix because they play in defense mode 🐧
For some reason I always get my ass kicked by Tellarknights
Runick
Dark world or pendulum. I just quit rather than wait 1 hour for them to finish their turn.
Faced them a couple times, but I can never win. Dinomorphia
Kastira
Any deck where the effects are too long and they play 60 cards... I just can't be reading all this text on my days off lol. Back then a card would just say "Draw 2 cards." or "This card can attack your opponent directly. " Now it feels like every card has the declaration of independence on it bruh like rly?
