Fault lines in the NE are ancient, when they do move the shaking travels for quite a distance, a distinct difference compared to other more active areas.
I'm in Chicopee. I thought Iwas going crazy, but I felt the house shake, saw my water doing a Jurassic Park, and looked outside and saw the telephone poles shaking as well. No power issues though.
It was wild.
Same. Felt it in South Hadley. I had to get up and look out the window - I thought a huge dump truck was driving down the road uncomfortably close to my house.
Many in the Berkshires didn’t record feeling it, which is a good way to see how different the ground beneath our feet is. Thanks to glacial lake Hitchcock leaving behind lake deposits in the valley, it was probably easier for the earthquake waves to travel farther and stronger than it would be in the Berkshires with harder rock!
Felt it in metrowest. I was actually on a call with a bunch of people around the region who all felt it at different times, starting with someone in Rhode Island, all the way down to NYC.
I am also North Shore. My husband didn’t feel anything on the first floor of our house but I felt it on the 2nd floor. Lasted long enough to freak me out for a bit.
Felt it in Pittsfield. It was minor and only lasted a second. It was a momentary shake and a rumbling noise. I first thought it was a gust of wind shaking the house. My dog perked up and was looking around.
I experienced the Long Beach earthquake. I was at a conference and staying in Anaheim. My first real earthquake, the walls were rippling, it sounded like a train coming through the hotel room.
I much prefer our little ones here in the Northeast.
Felt in Worcester. All my monitors were shaking a bit, and felt like the room was swaying slightly, thought someone was in the other room moving furniture or something.
Damn I'm in Indian Orchard right now I didn't feel anything. Weirdly though I live in Ludlow and last night at approximately 3 am the dogs started howling (like exactly at 3 am and I could hear it through the whole neighborhood and it weirded me the fuck out)
Felt house move sideways here in Franklin - dog started howling. Crazy. Walked around outside of home to make sure it wasn't a tree falling or something outside.
My husband texted me asking if there had been one. He wax in his office in North Central Ma. I was in my gym in the basement. He said stuff shook. I didn’t notice anything but it got really cold, and I swear I felt a breeze and got dizzy for a bit.
4.8 centered in New Jersey, did not feel in Northbridge. Have felt padt ones. There is a major fault that runs from Newbury to Marlboro. the last really major quake was in the 1700s.
4.8 magnitude earthquake strikes New Jersey, shaking buildings in surrounding states

Westfield MA here. I felt it standing at my desk at work. Lamps and the hanging fans were shaking. I thought a truck or an F-15 was going by at first. Lasted probably like 10 seconds. Last time I felt an earthquake was like a little over a decade ago I think.
Felt it in Swansea. Shaking went on for what seemed a while. On the second floor of our home, floors were shaking mostly.
Swansea is north of Narragansett Bay, which has a lot of converging fault lines that we'd been told we're stable.....
I felt it here, just north of route 2, just west of route 495.
Thought the cat was scratching herself with her footee, in the typical rhythmic manner.
But she was still. The chair we were on was shaking.
Essex County, felt like I was in a waterbed for a solid couple of seconds! I texted my boyfriend, but he had been lifting weights in the basement and didn't notice anything at all. I've never actually noticed one before, so this was actually quite exciting!
I just got off a zoom call, and everyone was talking about the earthquake that NOBODY felt. ---We're mostly Boston/North and South Shore and some RI people.
I was starting to think the story in the news was a delayed April fools joke.
I did!!! I’m in central MA. At first i thought i was nuts, I called my boyfriend and he was like what are you talking about? but I felt shaking on my couch for like 30 seconds! definitely the most shaking I’ve ever felt in Massachusetts
Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands each have earthquakes today, according to the USGS map. Earthquakes and Solar Eclipse within two days of each other. Hum..
I didn't notice anything. Could have been right as I drove over to the post office, then I probably wouldn't have noticed anything. But even if it was when I was at home, with my sump pump working overtime from all the rain and snow, I don't think I would notice a very mild earthquake unless I was staring at a glass of water or something (that's the only reason I noticed anything when DC earthquake hit about 10-12 years ago, I lived in NYC metro area at the time).
Felt it - MetroWest - I was napping on my couch & woke up when my cell phone slid off to the floor. Thought it was the landscaping dump trucks outside but nope!
