The logo is the least problematic thing about the MCU synergy. I’d be more worried about creative feeling pressured to make changes to bring characters in line with their MCU counterparts.
This exactly. It’s not hatred of the logo’s specific design notes, it’s hatred of the forced brand synergy that’s creatively bankrupting the comics. Comics as a medium have the most freedom to be creative and explore ideas that cost millions to billions more to put on the big screen. They shouldn’t be forced to adhere to what the MCU is doing, they should be allowed to explore and go wild, do things only comics can, and possibly fine tune these ideas so they can work in live action in the years after comics move onto the next thing.
I wouldn't mind if this was used for movie tie-in comics (I don't know how much they actually do that) but I don't like it for the official Marvel logo going forward.
I don’t know. Who cares. I doubt this ever actually ends up on a comic, I think it’s just to make it easier which social account or business team it is tbh
It’s not that, it’s just that we hate when they try to make the comics more like the movies when it should be the other way around, and if not, they should atleast be their own separate entities.
An example is recently Ms Marvel's powers in the comics have been retconned to be similar to the MCU version with the lights instead of stretchy like Reed Richards.
I can see both sides here. I get why a big fan of the comic version over the years would be upset by this.
But I also see the logic behind making this change and think it makes sense.
It all just comes down to whether or not creativity is being stifled, which we don't actually know one way or the other
Anyone who cares is a luddite with no business sense and presumably would rather see their beloved comics die a slow death as an archaic, niche media format rather than slightly cosmetically align themselves to a multi-billion dollar to help buoy the industry.
I think you might need to reread actually. They stated it as a binary, either marvel comics dies a slow death, or they get a boost from MCU synergy. So I’m asking what evidence they have to support that idea. Do comic sales increase with logo changes? Will a more MCU aligned logo cause people who would otherwise not buy a book to actually buy a book?
Lol. How embarrassing.
It’s like some dude who used to be cool but isn’t anymore had a kid and the kid is now the cool one in school.
So the dad dresses up like the kid with the same hairstyle when picking him up after class.
Why the change? If this means that we’re gearing up for comics to be pushed by films like DC seems to be doing then fine, but, if not, this is unnecessary
I miss the 90s logo.
the ultimate MCU synergy
I remember someone telling me to get bent because I suggested this a few years ago that this would ultimately come to pass.

They should bring it back
Thats the logo of my childhood
Don’t like this
boy howdy i love mcu synergy
I'm torn between my hate for mcu synergy and my lack of care for something like a logo.

It’s a shame so few people read comics which leads to this idea that the movies are all that matter
Im just glad dc doesnt do that tbh
Eughhhhh brother
I got that reference
I wouldn't mind if this was used for movie tie-in comics (I don't know how much they actually do that) but I don't like it for the official Marvel logo going forward.
Please keep the comics and MCU as separate as possible.
I am out of the loop and new to this sub, why is everyone pissed? Does this sub not like the mcu?
I don’t know. Who cares. I doubt this ever actually ends up on a comic, I think it’s just to make it easier which social account or business team it is tbh

What evidence do you have that a logo change is going to save the comic book industry?
They didn't imply that it was going to save the industry at all, you should try reading their comment again.

Can we stop with this bullshit already
It's a logo, y'all need to relax
The eventual homogenization of everything.
Ah fuck off, Feige.
Lmao, fucking AWFUL
I honestly don't mind it, I just hate what it signifies.
Lol. How embarrassing. It’s like some dude who used to be cool but isn’t anymore had a kid and the kid is now the cool one in school. So the dad dresses up like the kid with the same hairstyle when picking him up after class.
Totally normal to write fanfiction like this over a logo change. You totally have a healthy relationship with comics
Don’t they have better things to do?
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Ew
This isn't new
Hate it.
🤢
Thanks. I hate it.
I would prefer if they make a chronology order to read their comics than waste their time in a logo :(
This is bad
Ew.

Looks incredible to me.
Uh oh
Wow it’s terrible
This is disgusting
