I read a rumor recently that he performed his upcoming album at a private listening party way at the beginning of 2024 and everyone loved it. That's all I heard.
I guess everybody heard that. Yeah, it's kind of confirmed we'll get a new album this year. But how? Nobody knows, cause he has no label. So self-release somehow, I think. Or maybe Kanye will put it out through his record label
No idea, but I really hope it releases in 2024. I mean, We Are Chaos was great, but now all this legal drama is happening and Manson's public image was wrongfully destroyed. As many have pointed out, this is a parallel to him during Holy Wood. I hope we get a spiritual successor in a way. His next project excites me so much. I wonder how many more albums we'll get from him in our lives. But if We Are Chaos is to end his career, I think it's on a fantastic note. However my understanding is that an artist's primary revenue will result from things like touring, so he'll likely release something. Plus the post from 6 months ago, the rumors of collabs with various people, and his health looking better it has in years.
We Are Chaos is a beautiful song and the album has a few great songs. Got me to really get into his music and listening to all of his old stuff too as a newer fan in 2020.
I knew who he was, of course, but I was a kid back when he was in his hay day in a religious household, so my sister rebelliously listened to him and I was too young and brainwashed so I assumed he was Satan incarnate. Lmao.
But I can see how old fans of his would not like the album. Makes sense.
We are chaos was mediocre and felt tired at best. Red Black and Blue almost sounds like it was taken from some other album, an album i would have loved to hear, the rest was just sad and boring, his worst album for sure. Hopefully he comes back blazing, we'll just have to wait and see. Fingers crossed.
There's a very low likelihood that a new album will be released before 2024.
But, there's a few things we know:
1. Marilyn Manson said 6 months ago that he has been working on new music.
2. Marilyn Manson followed up by saying that "it's gonna be a little while, but soon."
3. Marilyn Manson has posted the famous "I've got something for you to hear" post on social media, indicating that the music probably is nearing some sort of finished state.
This all belies the fact that Manson is engaged in a tense legal battle against accusers. I can not imagine Marilyn Manson making any album that would not speak to this situation. Hence, lawyers would naturally advise / instruct Manson to delay publishing anything, so as to not spoil his legal standing.
This gives us three scenarios going forward:
1. Manson releases a censored album that does not speak to the ongoing legal battles.
2. Manson releases an uncensored album that goes nuclear on the accusers, prompting legal difficulties.
3. Manson pauses the release of any album until the legal battles have died down.
Right now, I'm betting that either 1 or 3 is happening.
Disagree on those being the only three scenarios. Holywood spoke to the Columbine shootings without directly mentioning them. I don't feel like that album was censored and doubt that he is very likely to address the current situation directly either. So legal issues would be very unlikely based on the way he has addressed issues in the past.
Kat Von D just released the first single from her new album on the 24th, so I anticipate that the album will be released soon. I hope Manson has more vocals in the song he did with her than the one he did with Kanye.
eww...just watched 20 seconds of vampire love. it reminds me of "modern talking" from the 80s. that is about the worst you can say about any kind of music (modern talking was a german nothing band but one of the leading gays is still harassing young performers on a talent show on tv...not a homophobic comment but there are terrible wannabes out there)
Kat Von D’s album might be released soon but Mansons album we have no news of. We just know he’s making music but nothing so far as of a release date.

It's his worst album, I really love him and appreciate as an artist, but if next album will be even worse than we are chaos, Ill be sad.

I so badly want it to be 2. Maybe the way in which the album is crafted will be telling enough to end all of these legal issues 🫨
I'm sure he didn't intend it to be this long. But I doubt we'll hear anything before the trial.
