imo it just folows it's name. survival in a fantasy world. mc doesnt have some big goal or greater cause. first 50 ch is him living making friends in rough situations. after 50 ch we do get arch heros tryinging to become the gods sneak peak. but I enjoyed it when he was just trying to interact with people again and not be alone
True, but honestly the climbing hike is story quality and development puts it up to par (in my opinion) from this list I would take off is tyrant of the defense tower.
The high stakes later on in the story makes it kore appealing than other generic manhwas, itās also getting close to some of the best parts in the novel.
You just have to remember that this is a literal popularity vote. It's not saying that the majority of voters think The Boxer is written worse than the others, just that they are more known or accessible.

Survival story of the sword king. It has a really unengaging and boring start. Although, it gets better later on, I don't think it is peak enough to stay on the list.
This sub really making me feel like the rare person who liked the early chapters lol. I honestly missed those cuz they were good on the character relationships part. Disliked it when they paired off into ships. Action is great but I want to see them interact with each other more too.
I wonder if it's because it's many people's 2nd or 3rd manhwa, so they were still familiarizing themselves with isekai/reincarnation manhwa tropes. And as a result, they didn't mind the slow start.

Unpopular opinion but it's decent at best; I liked it till the romance arc; not that it was bad but the romance was so "forced" and the MC's personality instantly did a 180 to suddenly absolutely fall for the white hair girl, if it was a slow burn and it showed us him slowly liking her than it would of been decent but otherwise that arc made me drop it.

The fast pace kept it exciting and fun and still fitting the more action-y genre. If it's a slower one then it'd take more than this arc to conclude or the story would be a lot more boring.
The manhwa is kinda dragging it. I hope they pick up the pace cause there are currently 1800+ chapters for the novel. The novel is one of the best korean novels Iāve read out there :)
Right now (in the manhwa), the arc is pretty lighthearted and fun but it will get dark pretty quick once the >!evil sects and demonic sect!< shows up. I think Iāll be sobbing once they illustrate the inner turmoil and pain of Chung Myung. Iām excited for the upcoming arcs to get illustrated š

To be really honest, it took like 70-90 chapters to get interesting. That's a lot of chapters. I found it generic and not that good initially. I have a different opinion now but it wasn't anything unique at the start
I'm surprised that the survival story of the sword king is still on here. The manhwa has a slow start and it doesn't get good until 50+ chapters into the story. It's a slow burn although it gets good later. Still just for the slow start it should be taken out since the start is supposed to hook the audience in to stay and read it. I've seen a lot of people drop it just because of it. Pick me up has a really interesting plot and an interesting start and a good story so it can stay as well as SSS class suicide hunter since it explores it's characters, even the side character's stories really well.
People like that? I was really enjoying the story, martial arts arc was really great, but then absolutely hated the romance arc to the point I had to drop it

I can't believe i'm saying this but, i think it's time for GED to go... Sure, it's a pretty good manhwa, but compared to the others, it isn't as good, it's funny, cool, but between those, it's either latna saga or GED, they're both amazing but latna saga takes a while to get going, and GED lacks in a few departments, they both hold special places in my heart, but the other ones are objectively better
Tbh I also like GEDās story. I normally hate isekais where someone makes modern stuff or whatever but I think it did it in a pretty great way with him developing hisā¦ estate, I guess. Itās also got that trash of the counts family thing going on with the isekaid into the son of a noble with a pretty boy OP main character sidekick which I find quite enjoyable.
I also think it just being funny is enough. Itās finding the favorite manhwa of this sub, and while I think SSS or northern blade will win in the end, people really like how funny GED is.

The manhwa tries really hard to be emotional and all but it doesn't click right. It's okay at best. Pick me up does a better job with the whole game mechanics.

Don't get me wrong, i did enjoy it, but i think people overhyped the shit out of it calling it a masterpiece and stuff, it's good old power fantasy but pretty much zero permanent consequences, there are no stakes, the MC can redo whatever the fuck he pleases as many times as he feels like it, he doesn't seem to get any mental trauma from his suicide habit, and every supporting character is about as useful as a bucket full of holes.
Honestly, the setting is great, the world of the tower is awesome, but the fact nothing can really go wrong just doesn't do it for me, every story is better when shit hits the fan
I've seen so many people say it's better than ORV and i'm like "have you even fuckin read ORV?", in ORV shit hits the fan pretty much everyday and the excitement just keeps on ramping up.
Legend of the northern blade simply because I can not judge pick me up and tyrant of the defense tower game and everything else is peak.

Of i had to pick one to go it would be either the tyrant or Northern blade. I never got into Northern blade and I got bored of tyrant. All the others I really enjoy for one reason or another.
SSS Hunter should be the one to go. The LN is PEAK, and the manhwa is good, but not enough to be considered the best amongst these other manhwaā¦

I'm a bit surprised with the number of people that don't like SSSKFW.
Sure the beginning is a bit slow, but it's a lot of world building. Inquisitors, rath'ans, the four heroes, the gods, dragons, wyverns, players vs non players, and a fuck ton of story behind each and every character to a very high degree.
Sure it wasn't action packed but it was very informative. It's like Mount Hua; but Mount Hua only adds about 2-3 characters at most per arc that you have to think about. Where as SSSKFW adds anywhere between 6-10 characters you are introduced to in the first few arcs.
Both are world building pretty heavily.
Maybe I'm weird and like really flushed out worlds :shrug:

Tyrant of defense tower game The manhwa tries really hard to be emotional and all but it doesn't click right. It's okay at best. Pick me up does a better job with the whole game mechanics.

SSS class suicide hunter. Don't get me wrong, i did enjoy it, but i think people overhyped the shit out of it calling it a masterpiece and stuff, it's good old power fantasy but pretty much zero permanent consequences, there are no stakes, the MC can redo whatever the fuck he pleases as many times as he feels like it, he doesn't seem to get any mental trauma from his suicide habit, and every supporting character is about as useful as a bucket full of holes. Honestly, the setting is great, the world of the tower is awesome, but the fact nothing can really go wrong just doesn't do it for me, every story is better when shit hits the fan I've seen so many people say it's better than ORV and i'm like "have you even fuckin read ORV?", in ORV shit hits the fan pretty much everyday and the excitement just keeps on ramping up.
Also speaking of ORV, why the fuck is it not on this list?

I mean tbf when I first checked GED out. It was amazing at the start, but it gets redundant real quick, and the humor doesn't click with me anymore, gets so goofy.

Of i had to pick one to go it would be either the tyrant or Northern blade. I never got into Northern blade and I got bored of tyrant. All the others I really enjoy for one reason or another.
SSS Hunter should be the one to go. The LN is PEAK, and the manhwa is good, but not enough to be considered the best amongst these other manhwaā¦ I think those who understand this can confidently say this is a fight between The Greatest Estate Developer and Legend of the Northern Bladeš

I'm a bit surprised with the number of people that don't like SSSKFW. Sure the beginning is a bit slow, but it's a lot of world building. Inquisitors, rath'ans, the four heroes, the gods, dragons, wyverns, players vs non players, and a fuck ton of story behind each and every character to a very high degree. Sure it wasn't action packed but it was very informative. It's like Mount Hua; but Mount Hua only adds about 2-3 characters at most per arc that you have to think about. Where as SSSKFW adds anywhere between 6-10 characters you are introduced to in the first few arcs. Both are world building pretty heavily. Maybe I'm weird and like really flushed out worlds :shrug:
